| Answer: | yeh you skiped something there....if you do it that way you are relying mostly on the glue for streghth wich is wrong the clue is mostly just to seal the handle from watter. oh and contact cement is no where near as good as a good epox. anyway you want to leave the pins alightly longer on each side (rule of thumb is leave it extra length as the diameter of the pin so if your using 3/16 pins leave it 3/16 farther out from the scale then peen the pins so they expand and mushroom then grind off excess look up peening knife handles I am not going to explain it all.....I am a knifemaker I do this all the time this is the way that will work the best just be carful peening not to break the handle scales ohh even better search for CORBY BOLTS they work better for handle scales pins work better on bolsters and gaurds |
