11 best drive medical air mattresses
Drive Medical air mattresses are specialized medical devices used in healthcare settings to provide pressure relief and support for patients who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers (bedsores) or those with existing skin breakdown issues. These mattresses are designed to distribute the patient's weight evenly and reduce pressure on vulnerable areas of the body. Here's what you need to know about Drive Medical air mattresses:
Pressure Redistribution: Drive Medical air mattresses are constructed with multiple air cells or chambers that can be adjusted to vary the pressure on different parts of the body. This technology helps prevent pressure ulcers by minimizing prolonged pressure on any single area.
Alternating Pressure: Many Drive Medical air mattresses offer an alternating pressure feature. This means that the mattress inflates and deflates different cells in a cyclical pattern, shifting the patient's weight distribution periodically. This helps stimulate blood flow and reduces the risk of tissue damage.
Low-Air-Loss Technology: Some models come equipped with low-air-loss technology, which allows a controlled amount of air to escape from the mattress surface. This helps maintain a dry and cool environment, reducing the risk of skin maceration (softening and breakdown due to excessive moisture).
Comfort and Support: These mattresses are designed to offer both comfort and therapeutic support. They are commonly used in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare settings to provide patients with a more comfortable and pressure-relieving surface for resting or sleeping.
Adjustable Settings: Drive Medical air mattresses often come with adjustable settings for pressure levels, cycle times, and firmness to cater to the specific needs and comfort preferences of each patient.
Easy Maintenance: Maintenance of these mattresses typically involves regular checks for leaks, proper inflation, and cleaning to ensure their effectiveness and longevity.
Prevention and Treatment: Drive Medical air mattresses are used not only as a preventive measure but also as a treatment option for patients with existing pressure ulcers. By reducing pressure and promoting blood circulation, they aid in the healing process.
Accessibility: Many Drive Medical air mattresses are available in different sizes and configurations, including options for home use. They can be paired with hospital beds or used on standard bed frames.
In summary, Drive Medical air mattresses play a crucial role in the care and comfort of patients at risk of pressure ulcers or those with existing skin breakdown issues. They offer customizable pressure redistribution and therapeutic features to help improve patient well-being and reduce the risk of pressure-related complications in healthcare settings.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a manufacturer warranty that comes with mat and pump? If so, for how long |
Answer: | Yes, the Vortex Optics VMX-3T Magnifier is designed to work with Vortex Optics Strikefire II Red Dot with Cantilever mount. The Cantilever mount puts the Strikefire II at a lower 1/3 co-witness height. The VMX-3T magnifier, comes with a baseplate shim which, when installed, also puts it at the same lower 1/3 co-witness height. |
Question: | I have a queen ajustble bed how can i keep it on the bed |
Answer: | I use them for Canon so don't know about Minolta. |
Question: | Does this pad really come with long end flaps |
Answer: | The total thickness including padding is now 5mm (per one of the side-selectable pictures on its Amazon product page). |
Question: | Can this be used with a regular bed or does it have to be a hospital bed |
Answer: | There are really no constrictions on any of the pouch belt straps. There are available size limits, the larger two will fit any belt, the smallest will only accept 7/8-1 inch (25mm max), the next size up will accept 1-7/8 to 2 inch (50 mm max) this is also dependent on the thickness of the belt. The clip has just greater than 1 inch or 26 mm opening. |
Question: | How much weight will this mattress support |
Answer: | It stretches a little, but perhaps not enough for your needs. My 100 - 400 lens doesn't make it. |
Question: | What happens if there is a power outage |
Answer: | If you search for JJC lens case on Amazon, you will find that all the sizes are listed on the same page. Measure the lenses and pick the right size case. If you don't own the lenses, then search for them on Amazon or one of the major camera vendors such as B&H and look for the lens measurements there. |
Question: | What are the cycle times |
Answer: | Sorry. Own a Nikon. My lens fits perfectly |
Question: | does it stay on all the time |
Answer: | I tried a number of these for a Sony 70-350mm and none worked well. Either too short or too tight when closing the bag with the lens cap included OR too wide and the lens lopped around. I went for one of the neoprene bags with tie enclosure - (3 Pack) Altura Photo Thick Protective Neoprene Pouch Set for DSLR Camera Lens. I can use this inside a larger JJC or just use it on it's own. Not sure what the dimensions of the 18-400 are but that's the way I went until there is a bag designed for the Sony lens |

Question: | Will this work with aBevel medical iso13485? I lost my mattress moving. Are hook ups for hoses on the mattress |
Answer: | Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. The weight capacity for this is: 350 lbs. |
Question: | does this come with the pump |
Answer: | it deflates. I bought one for my mother in a memory care facility. Severe storms went through the area and shut power down for several days and the staff had to put my mother in a regular hospital bed. Is the purchase worth the risk of that happening. I think so. My mother spend much of her day in bed, and she has not had one bedsore!!! Not one! The mattress inflates and deflates separate cells changing the pressure points every few minutes. If you want to do something for your loved one who may be in a similar situation, I would rate this mattress 10. She hasn't had any issue with it. It works great. It also has an adjustable firmness setting which can be set by the occupants weight. Read the directions and it will show you how to do this using a simple dial. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made for my mom. |
Question: | Trae la bomba para inflarlo |
Answer: | I believe it’s every six minutes |
Question: | Can this pad be used with other alternating pressure pumps? I want to get this pad as a replacement but keep my same pump. Thanks in advance |

Answer: | You dont need one! |
Question: | What happens if there is a power outage |
Answer: | Double flame only |

User questions & answers
Question: | I need to replace, just the tubing for a drive air pump/mattress combo. Is this possible |
Answer: | This mattress overlay is wonderful. Yes it has a year warranty. Ui certifications not sure. But it does have an emergency pull that deflats it in seconds for CAR purpose. My son is 5'10" weigh about 115 pds so he was so easily prone to bedsores he had 2 so bad. Well can't believe the difference now after 3 nights and we did as nurse had instructed us same as before but found out we no longer had to rotate him every 3 hours just change pressure of air flow. Then put him his side during feeds. Get him up about 3-9 pm. He no longer has any bedsores at all pink new skin. Amazing what right equipment will help so much. Can not go wrong with purchase of this one worth every penny. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hello, Which air mattress with pump is the 42" x 80" air mattress? The listing only shows 10" and other sizes. Thanks |
Answer: | yes, you have to press one time for every spot. |
Question: | Does this include the bed frame as well as the mattress. I don't find the frame listed in your description |
Answer: | The first hairs start falling out after approximately 7 to 14 days. You can keep shaving regularly or you can let it grow and observe it progressively become sparse. 15 to 20 days after treatment, the remaining hairs are possibly ones missed by the flash. Ideally, you should proceed to flash those stubborn hairs. Then, you should repeat when needed (this can vary from one individual to the other). You can choose to wait the recommended 2 months, or you can re-flash once in a while/as soon as you see hairs appearing. By doing so, after 4 or 5 sessions, shaving should become unnecessary. |
Question: | Does mattress work on bed frame that head and feet raises and lowers |
Answer: | Shaving the zone you’re about to flash is essential for any hair removal technique using light. The light produced by the MLAY Laser Hair Removal device is absorbed by the melanin in the hair. During this absorption, the light is converted into thermal energy (heat). This heat destroys the hair or more precisely the structure creating it. The length of the hair has an impact on this process since the energy will distribute the whole hair.if the hair is longer the energy will be diluted,if the hair is shorter, the volume of energy will be more concentrated. This is why it is important to shave the hairs before flashing them to obtain better quality results. |
Question: | Is this mattress suitable for a patient with severe cronic lumbar back pain |
Answer: | Dear Emmaline: MLAY M3 support multiple voltages and can operate in the range of 100-240V |
