Answer:	I have kept this in belt form so haven’t but it up to see. But according to the description on the product this is 550 para cord which should be type III which should have seven strands. Sorry not to give you a definitive answer though. It does make a pretty good belt

Answer:	It is coated so you are likely fine until the coating is scraped off.

Question:	How do get the flint to spark
Answer:	Use the silver colored scraper to scrape round middle rod on other side of inside buckle. Scrape, hard and fast like striking a match. May take a couple tries, but it works. Make sure the spark is close to item you are lighting. It must be a material that catches easily. Cotton ball, dryer lint, really dry grass or moss, etc.
Question:	are these TSA approved? can i take one on a plane with me
Answer:	I have never had a problem with the bracelets I have made using these buckles. I do put them in a baggie and place in the tray with my toiletries. I have never worn them through the TSA lines.
Question:	How good is the compass
Answer:	The metalic part for the fire starter is right underneath the compass. So when you strike the fire starter it becomes magnetized, causing the compass to always Point North towards the metallic part in the clip. The compass is basically useless. In my pack of 10 only seven were pointing North the other three were already pointing towards the clip so I would not recommend buying these particular clips.

Question:	How many feet of survivorcord is used to make a large braclet
Answer:	There is approximately 11 feet of SurvivorCord in each Bracelet.
Question:	how does this item deal with getting it wet, how would it hold up to showering with it on daily or swimming? Will salt water effect it
Answer:	I have had it wet several times with nothing special done to care for it, with no issues to date. I was also able get fire from the waxed Jute while wet. As for salt water it is my experience that it does not play well with most anything. If you were to get it wet with salt water I would rinse it well.
