This listing has 3 choices - both of the choices that have a description of mpr 1550 are actually called allergen reduction filters & clearly state that they are mpr 1550. I use one of these sizes & always get the 1550. If you need 16X25X4 it's called allergen defense filter mpr 1000. I couldn't find any other statement in the description that listed the mpr - so to me it's unclear. You might want to contact amazon customer support to verify the mpr, but also, the product can be returned if it's not what you were looking for.

Answer:	When it gets dirty on the air intake side. Don't wait for it to get caked with dust as this will cut down on air flow and make your furnace/air conditioner work harder to reach your desired temperature. Filter vendors often recommend changing 4 times per year, but your mileage may vary depending on how much you heat and cool and the cleanliness of the air being moved. I change about 3 times per year, but I could go to twice. Do you change your car filter? How dirty does that get? Be sure the actual size of the filter is correct for your blower. Filtrete nominal sizes and actual sizes differ. I got stuck with 4 filters I can not use. I bought the size 16x25x4, but the end of the filter has the actual size: 16 x 24 1/2 x 4 1/2. the 4 1/2" dimension is too large to fit.

Answer:	Yep, I just bought more at 4/34.95. Who knows. They are so randomly available, they know exactly what they are doing. Good product, but if I would have known these filters were going to be so scarce with rising prices I would have left it Right where I bought it. Sorry you fell for it too.
Question:	How long will a bottle last
Answer:	No, this is not meant to be used for breathing in directly into one's face. Most of these filters (vacuums and the like) have chemicals or fiberglass that would do more harm than good. What you need to get is a PM 2.5 filter these are specifically made for masks and meant for you to breathe into it. Please be safe!

Answer:	I think they're synthetic, but that's only my best guess. If you've ever gotten the Swiffer "Sweeper" cloths, it's like that. As for washing and re-using, a QUALIFIED "yes, sort of". The twitchy part of it is that they have to retain enough "fluffiness"/open space so that the air can flow through, yet still not have holes which would let the gunk get through and defeat the purpose. First, wash it in the sink by hand, so that the chip STAYS DRY, and using only **plain** detergent, one that has **zero** softeners or scents or anything else other than plain detergent -- consider the type that's used for washing antique quilts, Synthrapol or something similar - that can also be found on Amazon. Rinse thoroughly but gently - empty the sink while gently agitating, refill the sink, again gently agitate with your fingers ((works well if you hold them like a claw)), and repeat until all the detergent is out. Then AIR-DRY! If you have any empty bottles on hand, put it over the bottle like a sock - that helps it dry. Fluff them periodically while drying. Put back on by first putting the stretchy band on, and plug the chip in only after the bag is securely on the fan. I have to because the bags are usually just too expensive, for my budget at least!, for me to treat them as single-use items.

Answer:	I did not but then again can't imagine that it would hurt. I generally use a blower to get the duct off mower and leaves off deck after each use and then blow a bit of air over air filter to get the out side dust off of it as well.
