Answer:	Not sure about salt water damage but I have used it several times and have never been questioned about how the damage happened (my issues were related to battery drain). It’s definitely worth it, considering how much the device costs though

Answer:	You would be lucky to even get a response back to you in three days if you try to ask them about a claim. My kindle died (software issue) and I have over a year left on warranty. Square Trade (an AllState company) is not responding and not honoring the policy.

Answer:	No, it is not new. It is refurbished. I received a refurbished and it did not work. The touch screen wouldn’t let me open it and stopped responding completely. I fought with amazon for over an hour to have the replacement replaced with a new one. They said it was an automated replacement and had no control over what I receive. So, in stating that, the second replacement was also refurbished. This is a fraudulent warranty. You will get a refurbished Replacement and it may not work. You only have three replacements. So if none work, you’re completely screwed. This is clearly a violation of the legal contract.

Answer:	You can make up to three (3) claims during the plan period you bought whether it is a one, two or three year plan. When the time of your plan expires, you can not make a claim.

Answer:	I don't think so because you have to return your kindle to get a replacement. But for damaged kindles, this deal is great! The customer service was quick and efficient! I've already used them once.

Answer:	I don't know if it is covered abroad, but I do know that I broke one of my other Kindles and it was replaced within 72 hrs.

Answer:	After some extensive research, and speaking with a few reps from both Amazon and SquareTrade, this is what I've found: The protection plan can only be applied to any NEW Kindle Voyage within 30 days of purchase. Though, any Refurbished Voyage that is sold by Amazon (NOT a third party distributor) comes with the same 1-year-limited-warranty as the new models. The differences between the coverages are that the 'Extended protection Plan' acts as an extended warranty that covers damages caused by user error, eg: cracked screens, water damage, dropped units, etc. Where as the 1-year-limited-warranty has no limit to the amount of claims you can put in, the 1, 2 and 3 year protection plan caps out at a max of 3 claims during the span of the plan in it entirety. NOTE: There is no paperwork involved with the SquareTrade protection plan; everything is done digitally and is attached to your Amazon account upon purchase of plan. Hope this helps!
