Answer:	Great question! Any kind of nuclear dosimeters, including SOEKS 112, have to be turned ON and on the person/in the environment in order to record the radiation dosage. It has to be carried around to accumulate the dose. SOEKS 112 can show real time radiation or the accumulated dose with a single press of a button.
Question:	At what number on the display should I turn and run? Is this the same unit model sold by "Mirasafety
Answer:	You should see numbers below 0.40 uSv/h in the USA for natural radiation background. It doesn't mean you have to run yet but definitely something to investigate as to why the numbers are higher than naturally should be. If you see numbers higher than 1 uSv/h - it's a good idea to increase your pace with the toes pointing away from the object or the area with high radiation. SOEKS is the original manufacturer of this portable Geiger counter, including the ones that are sold by Mira safety. Answer:	No, this is a standalone Geiger counter/Dosimeter that makes and keeps all the measurements on the meter itself.

Answer:	When High radiation is detected, you’ll know it right away - there will be a spike in the readings, the audio clicks will become very frequent, and the visual indicator (LED) will blink rapidly. No way to miss that! Answer:	I have an android phone so I am unfamiliar with the iPhone8. It requires an audio earphone jack. An adapter like the Amazon (Apple MFi Certified) Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, Headphone Jack Adapter for iPhone, Audio Splitter Accessories Music Aux Adapter for iPhone 11/ Xs Max/XR X/8/8 Plus/7/7 Plus/ipad/iPod by Gedun. But the bottom line is I don't know.

Answer:	I do not know, but I can guess. The component just supplies a series of pulses as input. The application which you download turns the pulses into a measurement. Unless the iPod can run arbitrary iPhone aps the answer is no. It will work with the iPhone. Also note that it only works with photons, so only x-ray and gamma.
Question:	Will this check for radiation in radioactive ores? I'm talking about uranium, tritium, thorium, all the works
Answer:	It is essentially useless for anything that requires a "snapshot" type reading. It measures general exposure levels over an extended period, an hour for example. I think it is intended for personal use to get a rough Idea of how much exposure one gets in a given time period. I tried to use it in X-ray repair, just to check if the x-ray machine was firing at all, and it was useless for that. It cannot measure a burst or count pulses. It may be just the way the app is designed. But I don`t think it will work for you , based on my experience.

Answer:	Hi there. Giving you advice from a nuclear chemistry student side of things, I would not advise this product. It does not even perform its job when measuring a radioactive mineral on contact not to mention liquid. To give you a idea, I have a sample of Uranium that measures 1658. cpm on a calibrated CDV700. This product was measuring 98 cpm . Way off. I tried several other tests and it seems just as bad. So NO , I would not waste your money or time. However, I would recommend to you to search on Amazon for the GQ300 that you can get i think about $99. Its awesome. You can even download your readings to your PC. I've had no trouble with mine and it as accurate as my CDV700. I don't think you would be disappointed. Also, just add a side note, and I haven t done this, on the makers website, you can go to the forum and several users tell how to up grade the tube so it can detect Alpha as well as Beta and Gamma. The GCA-07W-DL built in Data Logger that can record and playback 8 hours of data. External wand probe houses a LND 712 Geiger Mueller tube. The external wand makes it easier to test and measure radioactivity in materials.

Question:	I live near a nuclear site. Is this the aproppriate device to monitor levels
Answer:	I think for this type of site monitoring I believe you would need check when there are increases in your local background radiation.First you need to obtain your normal background radiation reading What I would do is take an hour's worth (60) of one minute readings. This is the CPM (counts per minute) mode on the GCA-07W. With this data collected. I would add the 60 readings together. I would then take that total and divide it by 60 to get an average CPM reading. Next I would look through the 60 CPM readings and mark down the highest count CPM reading, and the lowest count CPM reading. Those two CPM numbers are your Max and Min. With this information you can determine if the background CPM radiation reading(s) are greater than you MAX CPM number. If the readings are consistently greater, you can make a logical assumption that there is an increase in background radiation. To see the percentage increase you would subtract the average CPM number from your reading to see what the increase in radiation is on average. To increase accuracy, you could also average say five hours worth of data or 300 one minute CPM samples to obtain the average CPM, Min CPM and Max CPM. In general the greater the number of samples the greater the level of confidence. The CPM averages may be different for day and night, so you may want to collect background radiation data for time variences also.The optional Geiger Counter Graphing Software for Windows PC, also available on Amazon, ASIN: B00WAK68U4, will allow you to collect, monitor and save this data from the GCA-07W easily. The GCA-07WDL version, in this particular application, does not offer any advantage over our GCA-07W. The Data Logger only records and plays back CPS, Counts Per Second data.

Answer:	No. The NRC certification is only available through the manufacturer. It costs an additional $125.00 to the cost of the Geiger counter and adds two weeks to its delivery. The NRC certificate, certifies your Geiger counter has passed ANSI-STD N323A calibration using a NIST traceable source from an independent government licensed lab conforming to NRC regulations 10-CFR-34, 10-CFR-35, making it suitable for regulatory inspections.

Answer:	Yes. All our digital Geiger counters with wands are perfect for prospecting. I recommend keeping the plastic end cap on the wand when prospecting to protect the thin window of the GM tube. Answer:	If your looking to "see" the radon particles in the water probably won't notice much difference between the water and background radiation unless it was a significant amount... I would recommend putting the water in a glass or beaker and set the monitor on top to make readings... I may try that myself and see what results are if any..
Question:	Does this unit detect and mesure the radiation from a smoke detector
Answer:	The GM tube of the GMC-600 Plus is a pancake one with a thin Mica Window. This allows also Alpha radiation to enter the GM tube and to detect it. A smoke detector can work with Am-241 isotopes and uses Alpha radiation for smoke detection. But all detetctors I know are very well shielded, so no Alpha radiation weill leave the smoke detector. Therefore, no external radiation detector will be able to detect the internal Alpha radiation of Am-241! Regards Uwe Z.
