Answer:	Hi June - The 1831 has a new motor and the TurboBrush holder has been moved to the front of the vacuum.

Answer:	I don't know as my housekeeper does all the cleaning; but she says the Bissell 1831 is the BEST she has used. The Carpets ARE CLEAN.
Question:	Is it easy to clean clogs out of the hose
Answer:	I have 3 big dogs and it is much easier to clear the hose with a broom handle than most vacuums. I have had to take it apart under the vacuum a few times to clean the bristles and un-clog the base of the hose by the bristles. Thankfully all the screws are the same type so it's easy to do. To clear the base of the hose under the vacuum i just pushed the screwdriver through and it cleared it, I've only had to clear the bottom hose twice in the two years I've had it.

Answer:	no hose for cleaning corners but does come with a small attachment for small area

Answer:	It doesn't on mine or atleast itsvnot automatic i just snapped a belt because the roller was jammed while using the hose
