The battery does not need to be in the vacuum to be charged if you have a spare charger or if your charger cable is not mounted inside the wall mount bracket. Two small screws and the battery pops out and is easily replaced. Not as convenient as a snap-in battery, but a workable option for those who want the superior qualities of the Dyson V6 with HEPA filter and super-strong suction. Also, the lower power setting is fine for 80% of the time, which gives a full 20 minutes of run time per battery. |

The large direct drive tool works great on carpets and ceramic tile floors. It really picks up the dog hair and dirt. I recently bought the Dyson Articulating Hard Floor Tool for the wood floors. What battery powered tool does not have a quick change battery pack in 2019? Answer.....Dyson! So, even if you're willing to buy a second or third battery, it would be unusable That means you're stuck with 10 or 15 minutes of use on anything but hardwood floors or tile. And that makes this thing an overpowered DustBuster for small spills, not a tool to replace a corded vacuum. |

I was told that certain serial numbers had "bad batteries" and mine was on the list. Worked fantastic up until today. So long as the new battery does the trick for my machine, I will continue to be a very happy V11 owner. I will update once I have the new battery. |

| Answer: | I haven't had mine long but I know Dyson says 3 1/2 hours if fully dead. I been using it (love it) and have never run the battery to empty and I've done all our carpets on max power once. But I don't have wall to wall carpet in every room. When I've used it to do different jobs the battery seems to be in full charge within an hour (blue light goes off). |
