Answer:	This stick vac does not have a roller brush it has a little purple lever on the vacuum head that you press to extend a row of bristles just for a little extra help and getting something off the floor or off a very thin carpet I love this Machine LOL

Answer:	Same problem here. Mine is going back too. Wife has one at our Florida home and it also does the same thing. Brush also seems to have a lot of trouble restarting as well.

Answer:	It works well on hardwood. I don't see why it wouldn't on laminate. Its onli drawback is ihat it needs a lot of cleaning because it tends to pick up a lot of debris in the carpet cleaning mode.

Answer:	I had the 50010 for 8 years, and just purchased the 50020 today after the other person living in my house dropped and broke it. The differences I see are: The 020 has way better smooth rolling wheels, my 010 was noisy on hardwoods, this one feels padded and it quiet and rolls much better. The 020 also has covered rear wheels where as 010 are exposed. The 020 has a black color scheme the 010 is silver. The 020 has a slightly larger canister/dust bin, but I think this might be in width as I believe the old canister fits. Canister on 020 is smoke colored, on 010 it is clear. You can see content easilt on both. Interior canister plastic dust filter on 020 is clear, on 010 its red they apear the same dimensions and are interchangeable, however the fit of this in connection is tighter on the 020. My 010 was old and mucky, but I believe the 020 has better picking up off the side like when I clean at a floorboard. I also feel relatively confident that it possibly has a slightly better battery life, although both use same battery. Both use same filter and filter holder, same power switch scheme, same method of attaching / detaching head, assembly (one screw to attach handle to body), and both have a visible battery meter in the same location. The 020 of course is the updated version. My local box store only had this one in stock.

Question:	has anyone found an adapter to allow use of older Kenmore attachments on this one
Answer:	I made one that looks like it came from Kenmore so I can use a generic central vacuum hard floor brush with it. Here is why the hoses and ends are sized the way they are. Vacuums operate on a combination of both suction and airflow. The smaller the hole, the greater the suction but the less the airflow. The larger the hole, the less suction but the greater the airflow. There is a happy medium of suction and airflow where the motor works best. Old fashioned vacuum motors like those in old Kenmores, Hoovers, vintage Eurekas and the like made their best power between 3/4 inch and 1 1/4 inch diameter openings, so it's no coincidence that their wands were a standard 1 1/4 inches diameter. New vacuum motors benefit from technologies like computational fluid dynamics that greatly increased their airflow without suction dropping off. To take advantage of the increased airflow newer machines really need larger diameter wands and attachments. That is what you see on this vacuum, as well as modern Mieles, Tri-Stars and Aerus Lux machines. The smaller traditional wands will choke the motor off and reduce cleaning power. You are better off using the attachments that come with it, they are very good compared to what Miele, Simplicity or Riccar provide, and unlike some other vacuums like Kirby, Tri-Star, Rainbow or Filter Queen they all stow under the lid instead of having to drag an attachment caddy around.
