They come in the sun porch and then into the bedroom (using the one I put in the window) They love it! and now the come and go as they please. Use potty outside! It has to swing both ways to allow coming and going - maybe you could temporarily remove the door until they get used to the little opening?

After the tunnel hole is cut out, it's better to wrap around it with a layer of wood skin. And if your hole is cutting a little big, it's quite neccessary.

6. Cut down tunnel depth if necessary

If the cat door is too thick for your door, use a scissors or cutting machine to cut down some part of tunnel along the line A or B. The cutting scale is about 2-4CM.

7. Mount to the door

Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 8 screws have been provided for your use, tighten them with a screwdriver on both sides.

Answer:	I'm glad to know that replacing the flap is possible! I've had this same cat door for 10 years and the cats finally managed to break one of the corners the original door flap so all I want to do is replace the flap. Also, for anyone who is interested, my cat door was put into my garage door (because that's the only way to get in and out of the garage.....there is no side door), and I've had absolutely no issues with it being an 'outside' door. The cats have their 'cat condos' set up inside the garage for safety/cover from inclimate weather and also their freedom to go outside and wander. It's been a perfect arrangement for a decade now and the frame of this cat door is as sturdy now as it was when it was installed! Just be prepared to replace the flap if the cat wants to attempt to bring a 'prize rabbit' through the door and it causes the flap to break off ;-)

Answer:	I attempted to remove the magnets but stopped once I realized that the magnets seemed to be either built into the actual unit and covered by the rubber seal and/or the magnet is embedded in the bottom of the frame and trying to remove it would damage the overall integrity of the frame and flap.

Hope this explanation helps it requires some extra work but mine works fine.

Question:	What are its outside dimensions
Answer:	8.25"x 8". This is the second door that I've had, the first one was the exact same size but after 6 years the looks would start to slide and sometimes my dog would accidently lock herself out. I paid someone to install the first door but this time I installed it my self because it was exactly the same and door had already been cut to this size. It's perfect for my 7 pound Chihuahua.
Question:	Can I put this cat door in a basement casement window that opens by sliding sideways
Answer:	I have used these doors for literally 20 years. Whenever they go in windows, they get mounted first onto a board to fit the window opening, whatever it may be. So hopefully you have someone, and/or the tools, to cut a board, cut a square hole through the board, mount the door with four screws and stick it in the window. I have always finished the board with paint before mounting. I have usually used only the 'active' side (with the red control knob) because the boards are generally 3/4" thick. They work great. Lock the sliding window in place with a stick/dowel/screw. Cats love the doors. So do we. Go figure.
Question:	I have a hollow door I want to install this in. Will the liner prevent me from seeing inside of the hollow space of the door
Answer:	Yes, the liner has a frame of its own that will 'close-off' the hollow opening of the door. Be careful, though when tightening the two halves of the cat door together that you do not put too much pressure on the door facing and collapse the door; you may even want to insert 2x2 sections into the hollow-core door opening to give it interior support.
Question:	Is the 12lb weight limit strict or just a suggestion
Answer:	The weight is a guide for you to gauge the size of your cat. There is no weight limit restriction. The weight is an indicator on whether your cat would be too big or not to fit through.

Answer:	Maybe a little bit. Interior doors normally aren’t very sound proof, unless you have an older home with solid doors. I actually didn’t notice a difference after installing mine.

Question:	Can it be installed in hollow core door
Answer:	I believe that it will work as well as you can make a clean cut on the door and how careful you are with the screws, such as likely much better to predrill all holes by taping the cat door in position to mark exactly where to pre-drill.
Question:	Will this door freeze shut
Answer:	Funny you should ask that now. I am in Western NY State and the answer is....YES. We have it mounted in the side of an unheated shed. Maybe if the room on one side is heated it might not freeze but I would not count on it. These doors have a fine fur or hair like coating along the surfaces that come together. This is supposed too keep the cold air out but in climates where you have freezing temps they just collect moisture and then freeze together. Our cats cannot get them open when this happens so I will be getting a differently constructed one to replace the ones I have now. The screws that come with these doors really suck as well.

If the cat door is too thick for your door, use a scissors or cutting machine to cut down some part of tunnel along the line A or B. The cutting scale is about 2-4CM.

7. Mount to the door

Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 8 screws have been provided for your use, tighten them with a screwdriver on both sides.

8. Done

Place screw caps over the screw holes, press them on. The installation is completely done.

Answer:	Consult the engineer, they suggest that you gently push the top of the bezel, you can easy take it off, and then try to install it in reverse.
