Answer:	From new, the rechargeable cells of the product needs a minimum charge time of 16 hours to ensure full power. We suggest you fully discharge the product when it is used for the first time as this will help the cells recharge faster. After the first charge, the product will charge by 9 hours. Answer:	I would go straight to the source on the black and decker website. I saw many differences listed in the specs on there. This biggest one I think that would make a difference is the suction power and washable filter.

Answer:	This vacuum is great on hard surfaces for pet hair. If the pet hair is typically hard to vacuum up because it is on cloth or carpet, not so great. It works very good to pick up loose crumbs on carpet, though. I have two cats that shed and I wholeheartedly recommend, instead, the Eureka EasyClean 71B corded handheld vacuum for pet hair on furniture. It is the only vacuum that will pick up cat hair on my velour couches because of the strong suction and rotating brushes. It is extremely important to clean the filter to keep the suction strong on both of these handheld vacuums. The filter on this Black and Decker CHV1410L is underneath the green filter cover that twists off. The easiest and most effective way to clean the filters for me is to use a shop vac on them. Of course, any vacuum with a hose attachment would work.

Answer:	This is the second time I bought this model: 1st time in 2013 and 2nd time in 2016. Both vacuums lasted for 2.5 years before loosing charge quickly. The vacuum was always heavily used (every day, several times a day).

Answer:	Theoretically it can, but not easily. I guess it depends on what you’re trying to catch. There is a plastic flap on the inside part of the suctioning access that should ensure unidirectional flow of air, but mine is not super tight around it, so an ant could crawl out, but a fly would have little more difficult time.

Answer:	It isn’t made to vacuum liquids. It may hold a cup or so of dry material. It’s great with sand or dirt in the car. It works well on pet hair, but you have to clean the filter more frequently to maintain suction. It’s easy and takes just a few seconds to pull and brush the filter.

Answer:	It certainly works for spider webs, I would recommend to clean the filter afterwards to avoid issues due to the spider web stuck around the filter.

Question:	Where is the filter? i hope i do not have to buy this for a new machine just received
Answer:	When you tap the button to empty the vacuum you will see an area with an indentation that tells you to "slide to access filter". You slide it forward and lift it out. At the opposite end of the mesh screen, you will see an orange ring (the filter) with a wire handle. It pulls right out. The filter is paper so we vacuum it off with another hand held vacuum. You could probably wipe it down or gently brush it with a soft brush. Would not get it wet! Your vacuum comes with the filter. Do not know if it would be available from Shark separately or not so would use caution when cleaning.

Question:	Has the lack of charging issue been resolved for
Answer:	Not sure as have not owned previous model. I can tell you I can clean two cars, probably fifteen minutes on one charge without loosing suction.
Question:	Is the suction strong enough to pick up cat litter
Answer:	That is specifically what I use it for. I use the silica crystal litter by Fresh Step. It picks the little bits perfectly. Do it daily, and it's a quick job. Also, I keep the kitties out of rooms with carpets, so this sucks everything off the hard surfaces no problem at all.
Question:	How many volts is this
Answer:	This product has changed over the years and despite have the exact same model #, HHVI320JR02, it is a different vacuum cleaner than the identical model # was just two years ago. The differences is that the older model: - had a 16 volt Li-Ion battery, not the 9 Volt or even 12 volts that some hear claim. - has a base charger that sat on a flat surface and the vacuum sat on it. the new one has a plug in charger and a wall mount that does not have any charging. This is a bad design in that now I need to unplug the charger and then lift off the mount. Before you would just lift it off the base. So why would Black and Decker make these two changes: money! It cost less to put a smaller battery in and get rid of the metal charging base. And why not change the model # to reflect these changes? This is false and misleading advertising.
Question:	Just bought this and it's only holding a charge for about 2 minutes of use? Is this normal? Is there something wrong with the battery
Answer:	My charge usually holds for about 20-30 minutes after charging for a few hours. Might have to charge for an initial 24 hours and see. If not, contact company for replacement. This hand vac is powerful and gets into all spaces.
Question:	can ether of the attachments be used to clean sliding door tracks
Answer:	I did not use them on the sliding door tracks but I do use it in the groove of windows. works great. Keep the vac held straight up and down or the blower portion will spread the dirt around.
Question:	Should the vacuum stay on charge when not in use or is that bad for the battery
Answer:	This is our 2nd one....we always leave the charger ON....especially if going away for an extended period. Like a car battery, a "trickle charge" keeps the battery fully charged.....problems occur when the battery charge is low or non-existant.
