| Answer: | As far as I can tell the entire insert is constructed of foam. The heel and arch are a hardened foam but still lightly padded. It took a couple days to get used to them as I’ve never needed inserts before. I exercise daily and find them incredibly comfortable. All symptoms of my plantar fasciitis are gone. I decided to continue using them as a preventative measure. I even bought a second set for other shoes. They trim easily with a guide molded into the bottom of the insole.
