Atrix manufactures the Atrix backpack cord (pigtail) a certain length for two reasons: 1) users of this product range from professional cleaners to homeowners, and by manufacturing the cord as a pigtail it allows the operator to choose which size extension cord best suits their application; and 2) if the extension cord is damaged, it then offers the operator a quick fix - simply by replacing the extension cord, not the entire vacuum. | Answer: | Mine came with a 50-foot, orange extension cord that is removable if you prefer a shorter cord. It is NOT attached to the vacuum innards. That cord is only about 8 to 12 inches long. The cord is held together with a rubber loop connector that prevents it from pulling apart. I do not know what kind of cubic foot per minute (CFM) the vacuum produces, but it's adequate for my wood floors. The Hoover motor is a 120-volt, 60 HZ, 8.5 amp motor. If my high school physics memory is correct, volts X amps equals watts, so it's a 1,020 watt motor. While vacuuming, I also use an FM radio/MP3 Player noise-canceling headset I got for Christmas last year. It came from Home Depot for $29. It works fine and protects my hearing. I use it when blowing leaves, power spraying, operating my table and miter saws, etc. Hope this helps. |
