Answer:	The wand with attachment is about 3 feet and the hose can be expanded another 6 to 8 feet. We have no problem using the hose attachment to clean furniture, stairs (up to 6 steps without moving) and ceilings.

Answer:	You would need to vacuum the soil first to get up all the debris. Then, when use this cleaner, it will get up all the spots. I have 4 dogs, and every spot they’ve left behind, this cleaner has cleaned them all up.

Answer:	NO... I have one short shag rug and 2 kitchen rugs that are a little puffy, not even short pile and I cannot use this vacuum. I've kept my old vacuum to do those rugs.
Question:	I have been researching and actually went to a store to feel the difference between the multi floor and animal 2. I can't decide. Help
Answer:	This model does have a brush roller but when switched to bare floor mode, the rollers retract slightly and do not spin. Works fine on bare floors and does not fling the dirt and hair around like some models.
Question:	What attachments does this come with
Answer:	Occasionally thread or string will wrap around the brush. The vacuum cleaner sounds different when this happens, as the brush stops spinning. All you need to do is turn the vacuum off, unplug, tilt the roller up so you can see it, and cut the string to remove it. This would be the same for long hair.
Question:	Can vacuum be put flat close to floor to reach unreacheable places? Like far under a bed. Thank you

Question:	What is the difference between this and the SteamVac also by Hoover
Answer:	I have been comparing them to decide which one I want, this one (hoover Power Scrub) has automatic mixing of the detergent solution and the water, so you can choose a water only (rinse) or water with cleaning solution. The SteamVac, you must mix the solution in the water tank, so in order to rinse you would have to completely empty out the clean tank and then add just water. The power scrub only turns off the scrub brushes when the handle is in the upright and locked position. The scrub brushes on the SteamVac can be adjusted for gentle, normal, and off. They both use heated air on the dry (suction) strokes to help with drying. It looks like the SteamVac might be a little cheaper but then it doesn't come with all the attachments the power Scrub does. In fact it is a little vague on which attachments come with it. I checked the owners manual for both of these for this information. The Power Scrub is about 2 pounds lighter than the SteamVac. The assembly of the SteamVac seems a lot more involved. I think I am about sold on the Hoover Power Scrb Deluxe carpet cleaner.
Question:	can the brushes be shut off
Answer:	There is a rubber flap on the back of the dirty water tank. If you open that, it breaks the airflow that drives the brushes. It won't pick up liquid while the flap is open though, so I spray and scrub with it open, then seal the flap to extract liquid. I'm not sure if that is the purpose of the flap, but it works.
Question:	Do i have to rinse after i shampoo? seems like an annoying extra step. never had a carpet cleaner that did that
Answer:	If you think of shampooing your carpet like shampooing your hair, it makes sense to rinse. Adding shampoo to you hair and then stepping out of the shower might make your hair clean, but it's not going to be soft. Long ago (LONG ago) when I shampoo'd carpets as part of my job, we were taught to think of it as hair: (a) Lay down a bit of water first; (b) apply shampoo; (c) rinse it out. If the carpeted area was heavy traffic, do just like the shampoo bottle says -- apply a second bit of shampoo, work it in, and then rinse it out. Over the years I've ALWAYS done that when cleaning my own 2500 sq feet of WHITE carpet in my house, and it always comes out fluffy, soft, and white. Even with several black dogs.
Question:	Would you recommend for pet owners? I have 4 pets and wonder if the pieces are easy enough to take apart to remove hair that will surely accumulate
Answer:	This was my first scrubber for carpets. I broke my ankle soon after I got it, so I only got to use it 3 times. I thought it did a good job on open areas. I did not like how it did close to the edges of the carpet where it meets the wall. I used it on steps and it did fine. One thing I remember is hold the dirty water container tightly when you go to empty it or the dirty water can spill out all over your work that you've done. Once you have figured out how to assemble and take apart, it is fairly easy then. I liked the fact that it gets the water up fairly well. For the money, I am happy with it, I have two cats. Must mention it takes some strength to work on steps and edges, as I used a large toothbrush. But the latter doesn't have anything to do with the animals, I was just giving you my opin of the machine.

Answer:	You could, but it would be quite a chore. This is a spot cleaner not intended for cleaning the carpet in an entire room. For that large of an area you would want an upright rug cleaner. Even a light duty upright would be better for such an area than this Hoover Spotless.
Question:	How does this compare to the spot bot
Answer:	Overall like the spot bot better, have both, use bot more often, just easier.
Question:	How does this do on pet stains
Answer:	It works great. I fill a sprayer with boiling hot water, use a carpet detergent to loosen the stain, and the spot scrubber to lift it from the item so stained. The sprayer is used just ahead of the spot scrubber vacuum tool and all of the gunk goes into the easily dumpable tank. I put distilled water in the wash tank and finish with that so no dissolved mineral residue remains (which sometimes makes a ring when the cleaned item drys). Works great and easy to clean (use a little of the boiling water followed with a distilled water flush).

Answer:	Hi Juliet, I agree with the other comments. It is average on the noise level. It isn't louder than than any other upright or canister, and I have 11 vacuums. I know, that's a lot. :) But this is my favorite out of all of them. It is very versatile and plenty powerful even with only the 500 watt motor. Now and then I don't like to have to unplug the vacuum to take it (and the cord) to the garbage can to empty it, but it does empty quickly and completely. The dirt cup does fill up fast, but that just means it is working, right ? The Shark Rocket Ultra-Pet has the removable dirt cup, so that may be a better choice depending how many times you think you will need to empty it. But overall I love this vacuum and choose it over the other's nearly every time. You won't be sorry you bought it.
Question:	How does this model do with dog hair? I know there is a Dyson model specifically for pets but it is way more expensive
Answer:	One great thing about it is that the Shark has no battery. The cord is about 30-35', longer than the cord on our Dyson canister vac. No recharging needed.
Question:	We are a family with many girls with long hair. How will this vacuum work with long human hair? Would it be better to get the animal
Answer:	It doesn't stand up by itself, but is great at getting up the hair from our lab. Much better than any of our other sweepers did. We hang it up in our closet when done with it.

Answer:	The dirt cup is very large. I can vacuum a 3 bedroom house and not worry about it. It is also easy to remove, empty and replace. I really love this device.

Question:	Can I purchase any carpet shampoo to use within hoover, for example an oxy shampoo for carpet and vehicle seating and floor
Answer:	I have purchased other shampoo as well.
Question:	Can I use this machine and just rinse my carpet to get all the soap out
Answer:	If you take the cartridge in the back that holds the cleaner out, you should be able to just rinse and remove the residual soap!
Question:	How does this machine do with hair? No matter how much i vaccum, there is hair. Does it get stuck in the brushes too badly
Answer:	I have a cat so hair is a major problem for me. The Smartwash does pick up the hair and it can get stuck in the nozzle going to the dirty water tank. The brushes will stop. But it is fairly easy to clean both the nozzle and brushes. It is easy to disconnect the pieces to clean. This machine does a good job of cleaning. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. I do recommend that you follow the rinse instructions after using the cleaner. It rinses the carpet to remove the cleaning solution from the rug. All you do is remove the bottle with the cleaner solution and go over the carpet again with just clean water.
Question:	Does it heat the water
Answer:	no, we recommend using warm tap water to fill the Clean Water Tank.
