| Answer: | Pretty simple. Drill a few holes, install a couple drywall anchors into the drilled holes, then mount the wheel pedestals and pedal hook with the provided screws. Use a level and pre-mark the holes to make sure the installation of each wheel pedestal is even and that the pedal hook is attached appropriately to hold the bike at the desired angle. Took me maybe 30 mins to do two sets. Be mindful of wall stud locations. Would be helpful to have a second person hold bike in the appropriate position after the wheel pedestals are installed when marking the desired position of the pedal hook. |

Maybe if the holder had a spring or more tension of holding on to the pedal it would be more secure and or something simple to keep the wheels in place would prevent possible movement in an earthquake situation. I don’t experience earthquakes and love the look... |

I was told that the "upgrade" option "includes 4 plastic feet and 4 couplers" for the vertical rails allowing the middle shelf to be adjusted. I really found that answer to be bizarre because in my mind those parts are what completes the kit for only the tall option. What if you split the unit in half like advertised? You would need 8 feet but no couplers. Why would you not sell a complete kit for all options? As far as I am concerned, both kits original and upgrade are short parts depending on configuration. I suppose it is like ordering a hot fudge sundae without the nuts and cherry on top. What's the point. I have my doubts about this product being structurally sound but reading many of the reviews it might be worth it to try. |

Step 1
Assemble two post with one brace (see figure A). Skipping one slot from the bottom of the post, place the rivets into post with the shelf ledge facing up (see figure B). Tap lightly to seat rivets. Repeat with two post and one brace. Assemble the two post end units with two beams (see figure C). Skip one slot from the bottom of post, tap lightly to seat rivets.
Step 2
Start by adding a wood shelf to the level previously built, then continue working by adding the second level using two beams and two braces in the post slots of your desired location. Again place the rivets of the beams and braces into the post slot with the shelf ledge facing up and tap lightly to seat the rivets.
Step 3
Add a wood shelf to the previously built level, then assemble the top post to the bottom post by using four of the post couplers. place the couplers into the top of the bottom post, and the bottom of the top post and tap down to properly seat (see figure D). Continue by adding the third level using two 92) beams and two braces just above the post couplers. Again tap lightly to seat the rivets.
Step 4
Add a wood shelf to the previously built level, then continue by adding the final level to the unit using two beams and braces. Tap lightly to properly seat the rivets and add the final wood shelf to the top of the unit.

| Answer: | The shelving is simple to assemble. I do not recall whether instructions came with the product or not, but I certainly remember not using them. Start from the bottom up. Take (4) uprights, make sure the narrow slots are down (round holes are up), put the feet on the bottom, then place your first shelf. Each shelf requires two long flats and two short flats, put rivets into holes, then use rubber mallet (or hammer with wood block) to force the rivets into the slots, thus locking them in place. Place the wire shelving into the grooves between the slats, and you have a shelf! Make sure you put two shelves into your bottom half before assembling the top half to avoid damage and for the sake of safety.There are (4) connectors. Hammer these into your bottom uprights, then hammer the top uprights into your connectors, then repeat with the shelves.By the way, the flats can be put in "lip up" or "lip down". Lip up if you want a 2 inch "kick plate" to keep things from, say rolling off the shelf. Lip down if you have boxes that you do not want to lift two inches to take them off the shelf. What is very cleaver is that you can have lip down in the front, but lip up on the sides and back, so that nothing drops off the back or sides .It is a very versatile system, and either than the occasional hammer, it's very simple to assemble. By the way, if something looks like it is aligned but does not seem to want to fit into place, hammer harder. This worked quite well with several of the flats and at least one of the top uprights... just make sure everything is aligned first. Good luck. |
