If you're speaking of normal day to day soil or dirt then there are no concerns of transfer or contamination to clean items.If you're speaking of heavily soiled items, especially anything greasy or oily, I would imagine that it's possible that this could rub against clean clothes and mark them. The hampers will fold into a flat rectangle for easy storage (takes 1-2 seconds and no physical effort at all), or you can twist them into a small circle. I used to be able to do it with out even thinking about it (with the hampers like this that I bought for camping years ago), but I don't remember how anymore. Answer:	My tape measure says 31 3/4" at the highest part. That is from the floor (with castors) to the tallest part of the handles. It is a Stanley tape measure so I assume it is correct. I see others have said 31.5 and 31 3/8. I was trying to be generous so the handles would not scrape your countertop. 31 3/4" is generous.

Answer:	I did what was suggested and reached out via amazon "contact seller" and haven't gotten any response. I have 3 bags that have split at the seam now and it's frustrating to not be able to get new bags. I love this system but am going to have to get rid of it if I'm not able to get replacement bags.

Question:	Are the bags machine washable; the answer is not clear. Thanks
Answer:	Here's why customer service said no. The bags are made of 600 Denier polyester (thicker, heavier yarn) with a PVC coating on the inside to make them water proof/resistant. Washing in an agitating washer (after removing the hanging bars of course) will crumple that inner PVC and over time can cause cracks in it and compromise it's waterproofing purpose. There is also reinforcing seam tape on the edges that helps the bags stay in shape and the more you wash it, the greater your chances of compromising the seaming. And, because of the thickness of the polyester and its PVC coating, it may take a while after they dry to relax back into shape. That said, there's nothing about these bags that can't get completely wet so if you have kids or pets and something particularly nasty gets put in them, I would immerse the affected bag in a warm Woolite sudsy sink and rinse and hang to dry. If that's too much work and you want to take a chance, put it in the wash (but not often) on a delicate setting, no dryer (PVC coating will not like you) and hang dry but know that every time you do that, you could be shortening the length of time these bags remain durable.

Answer:	As long as you spread the liner the full extent on the removable rods, that is not an issue. This is a well-made, constructed and functional hamper. Love it!

Answer:	I am guessing by dowels you mean the thing that the bags are on. The bags do come off, which is good, you can wash the bag. I put rubber bands on the end of each of them to keep them from sliding off .

Answer:	Best I can tell you is this: We purchased this because we have three sons (the oldest is ten and our twins are eight) to help keep the majority of their laundry seperate and speed the process of doing laundry. So far each child's clothes from the school week have fit in their individual bin. Understand my boys change clothes right when they get home from school and again when put their PJs on. So I'd say for each kid, 10 pairs of shorts, 5 to 10 shirts, 5 to 10 pairs of socks, and 5 or six pairs of PJ pants. That is per hamper. Hope that helps.
