Answer:	Hi! I didn't have a chemical odor with this mat. That being said, why don't you try soaking it in a tub that has a few inches of warm water that has had baking soda mixed in it. That should remove the smell.

Answer:	I have put these through multiple wash cycles without bleach and they seem to be very colorfast, as the blue stripe is woven into the fabric. If you just use a normal amount of bleach in your wash I would expect that the blue stripes will have minimal fading. You might want to wash one towel with your bleach loads as a test before throwing them all in. They are still a good value even if they won’t hold up to bleach. I just zap any stains with Shout and wash without bleach.

Answer:	I haven't used them to make cheese, but I have used them to make latkes (hash browns). They worked quite well. The starchy liquid extruded through the thin cloth and no flavor was added.

Answer:	Great question. In my experience, acrylic paint will stick to anything it has a mind to. If you're looking to paint lovely designs on these wonderful flour sack towels, I would definitely look into sacrificing one as your "test" towel and trying out some techniques and methods on it before settling into working on the others. I've had success with acrylics on denim jackets and pants, as well as cotton t-shirts, but have never had the occasion to try it on these. I've learned over the years to start light, start slow, don't add too much paint at once and allow the layers to dry thoroughly before adding another. And once finished, a quick 15 minute run through a HOT dryer helps to set the color. Then again, I've also had color wash right out of the same kinds of fabrics. Hence the suggestion of a test towel. Also, do some research on how to ensure color-fastness so you're able to wash them. NO sense in having your hard work do down the drain.

Answer:	I have not noticed any shrinkage. These are wonderful towels, make sure you don't use dryer softener on them or they become useless

Answer:	This is extremely fine cheesecloth - but not a "tight weave". So it feels more like a nice heavy gauze than a cloth. I use it to line my tofu mold when making block tofu since it helps drain away water but will retain the curds - and the thinness allow me room to work when it has to be placed between things (like wooden boxes and their tops.

Answer:	I use these amazing bags for steeping or cold brewing. They hold up to ten Tbs of ground coffee and leave no grounds behind. just float them on the water in a pitcher or 4 cup pyrex (or smaller for concentrate), cover with saran wrap, and leave in the ice box for 18-24 hours. Kind of pricey, about 30 cents each. Answer:	There is a total of 9 square feet of cheesecloth (it measures 36"L × 36"W).

Answer:	Yes! I serge around the edges to keep the fraying down when I wash them, but thats just me. A Zig-Zag stich around the edge would work. Also, I rinse all the cheesy bits out and wash the cloth as soon as the curds finish draining. (I use my cheese cloth for straining the curds from the whey)
