User questions & answers
Question: | What is the diameter and the height of this salad spinner? Thanks |
Answer: | Hi I think the diameter is 9.8" by 6.8". |
Question: | Will it clean tiny potatoes? Love them, but dont want to wash and brush each individual potato. Need an easy fix for cleaning small new red potatoes |
Answer: | No, it won't clean tiny potatoes. The only thing that it will do is get all the water off them after you wash each one. I bought mine for drying Kale to make chips. I have used it for Kale, Strawberries, Blueberries, Sweet potatoes, grapes and of course lettuce. |
Question: | what is the size |
Answer: | The clear plastic bowl is 10" wide x 5.5" high. Total height with the top installed is 8.5". We love it but don't drop the bowl!! It will break every time. |
Question: | So is this a good spinner for $16? Does it feel cheap or is it a quality product that works well? Any gripes with it |
Answer: | Cheap, this is the second (fool me twice) Cuisinart salad spinner I purchased, both broke after a shout time. Latches for the top break easily as does the spinner knob. |

OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner, Large
A new spin on our classic design Before the introduction of the OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner in 1998, crank or pull-tab salad spinners were considered high-end products. Some people even used the spin cycle of their washing machine to dry lettuce. Our easy-to-use Spinner transformed the tool into an everyday kitchen essential. Nearly 20 years later, we revisited the Spinner to make some updates while keeping the top features and original inspiration: a children’s top. With a modern design that complements contemporary kitchens and an improved brake that stops on a dime every time, we think you’ll love our new spin on the classic design. Dry salad greens with a simple press of the soft, non-slip knob. The non-slip base keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the updated built-in brake button stops the Salad Spinner for unloading. The basket doubles as a colander, and the lid comes apart for easy cleaning.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this Cuisinart have a smaller bowl insert |
Answer: | I hear you. I've got a Kitchenaid I'm looking to replace that has a bowl insert, it's easier to grind spices than the full bowl. |
Question: | How thin does cabbage come |
Answer: | Has anyone used the 2mm blade (sold separately) to slice cabbage for coleslaw? Not sure if the included 4mm slicing blade is the only size I'll need. Thanks |
Question: | this is the model highest rated by ci and atk. so is anyone else ready to rant about the safety feature getting all gross with food? true or false |
Answer: | I don't get it. We love this food processor but can't stand to wash it. Would not put it in the dishwasher. Everything gets stuck in the top and in the mechanism for the top. And it's clear plastic so you can see all the food caught in there, but there is no way to get it out. We can't figure out how it gets in there in the first place. We use the machine as directed. We wash it immediately after use every single time. I try to use the spray at the sink to get the debris out, doesn't help. Tried soaking it. Tried just at least spraying vinegar inside it to prevent bacteria from building up. We have only had it 5 years and have wanted to replace the bowl and top and Cuisinart is out of stock. And I saw them on sale on Amazon for $45. for just the bowl. And the food processor has gone up in price by $50. since we bought it in 2015. So, I am now actively looking for a replacement for this machine, even though it's still working fine. I can't deal with the clean up any more. Or with what I consider a health hazard having all that debris in there fermenting. |
Question: | Is this model the same as or different from cuisinart dfp-14bcn (no y at end of the model number |
Answer: | DFP-14BCNY does not have the recalled rivetted blades. This is the 'good' model to get as of the recall notice that came out today 12/16/2016 |

Cuisinart DLC-2ABC Mini Prep Plus Food Processor Brushed Chrome and Nickel
Included components of the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Pulse controlled buttons Why Is This The Perfect Mini Processor For You? The Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor handles a variety of food preparation tasks including chopping, grinding, pureeing, emulsifying and blending. The patented auto-reversing SmartPower blade provides a super-sharp edge for the delicate chopping of herbs and for blending and pureeing other soft foods. The blunt edge offers a powerful cutting surface to grind through spices and other hard foods. Pulse activation gives maximum control for precision processing, whether chopping or grinding. Spatula, product manual and recipe booklet included. Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor The powerful high-speed 250-Watt motor works hard and fast to accomplish any small job with ease. Chop herbs, onions, garlic; grind spices, hard cheese, puree baby foods; blend mayonnaise and flavored butters, all with the same compact appliance. The Mini-Prep Plus Processor takes up minimum counter space and stores neatly on the countertop or in a cabinet. Best Practices When Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Size Always cut large pieces of food into smaller pieces of even size – about 1/2-Inch. If you don't start with pieces that are small and uniform, you will not get an even chop. Quantity You don’t want to overload the 3-Cup work bowl. Use the quantities given in the included recipe section of the product manual. As a rule of thumb, remember that after being processed, food should not reach more than 2/3 of the way up the central hub of the blade assembly. Selecting the Right Operating Control Use the Chop function for chopping, pureeing and mixing. It’s the best option, for example, when chopping soft, fragile food such as herbs, celery, onions, garlic and most cheeses. It is also the right choice for pureeing cooked vegetables, making mayonnaise and mixing salad dressing. Pulse action is best when you are using the chop function. Two or three pulses are often enough. Use the Grind function for grinding spices and for chopping hard food such as peppercorns, seeds, chocolate and nuts. Continuous-hold action is best when you are using the grind function. Adding Liquid You can add liquids such as water, oil or flavoring while the machine is running. For example, you might want to add oil when making mayonnaise or salad dressing, or you could add vanilla or alcohol when making frozen yogurt. Pour the liquid through one of the two openings in the cover. Removing Food From the Sides of the Bowl Occasionally food will stick to the sides of the bowl as you process. Stop the machine to clear food away. After the blade has stopped moving, remove the cover and use the spatula to scrape the food from the sides of the bowl back into the center. Cleaning and Storage Read to clean up? No problem To simplify cleaning, rinse the work bowl, cover and blade immediately after each use, so that food won’t dry on them. Wash blade assembly, work bowl, cover and spatula in warm soapy water. If you have a dishwasher, you can wash the work bowl, cover, blade assembly and spatula on the top rack. The Mini-Prep Plus Processor stores neatly on the countertop in a minimum of space. The hidden cord storage underneath the motor base will help to keep excess cord off the countertop. Store the unit assembled to prevent loss of parts. Easily dice tomatoes in seconds Just a Few of the Many Foods You Can Prepare Food Item Operation/Technique Comments/Notes Seeds and Dried Berries Grind. User questions & answers
Question: | Does this chopper have BPA free plastic |
Answer: | Yes, it is BPA free. I ordered directly from Amazon in November 2016 and the unit that arrived states "All materials that come in contact with food are BPA free." |
Question: | how do you operate it |
Answer: | There's two buttons: one spins the blade in the direction of the sharp side and the other button spins the blade in the opposite direction. You must hold the buttons to operate. |
Question: | is it bra free |
Answer: | Bra-Free....?? no, of course not. It comes with a nice bra...(easy to remove, if desirable) and a couple of nice big ones to put in the bra) Be Careful when handling the "nice ones". Actually, this is a really nice little machine. I have two other food processors in the house (of different sizes and capabilities) but for everyday cooking (which is basically all I do) it serves me well 95% of the time and the other two sit around most of the time waiting for "show-time". It's compact, easy in and out of the dishwasher, takes up minimal room. Lots of power and a really sturdy construction. Being the phananatic that I am, after I saw how good it is, I ordered a second one because we know that as soon as we find something that works well for us....it disappears! (And the bra and it's "accessories" really come in handy too.!!! ) |
Question: | Is this fairly quiet or is it noisy? My current machine howls ike a damned soul in torment, which is why it is gathering dust in the cupboard |
Answer: | Many food processors are pretty loud but this one is fairly quiet. I love this machine because it's not so big or heavy and quiet |

- Bowl capacity is 3 quarts; basket capacity is 2.44 quarts. Overall Diameter: 8 Inches. Overall Height: 6 Inches.
User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use it like a tupperware, as well |
Answer: | I have the mini. Not sure of the capacity but the container holds 8-9 cups (measured with water). I would think the spinner bowl would hold about 6 cups. Works fine for the 2of us. |
Question: | What size are the holes on this little salad spinner? Will my alfalfa sprouts go threw the holes |
Answer: | According to OXO's site, the larger spinner is 10.5"x10.5"x5.9" and the smaller one is 8'' x 8'' x 7'', but even that is confusing since we don't know if that is with the plunger extended or locked, and I am guessing that it 5.9" is with the large one locked and 7" is with the small one extended, but it is not indicated at all. Source: http://www.oxo.com/p-1226-salad-spinner.aspx# http://www.oxo.com/p-490-little-salad-herb-spinner.aspx# |
Question: | How many cups is the large vs the small spinner |
Answer: | I'm at work and it's at home, so this is a rough estimate. It has about a 12 inch diameter and stands about 8 inches tall. I live alone, but it is probably big enough for 2-3 servings. |
Question: | What are the measurements (H+W+D) of the small size and the large size OXO Good grips Spinner. I need to determine where to store it |
Answer: | I would think that you could use it with other vegetables, but you may not get the desired results. This spinner consists of 2 pieces, the inside bowl is what actually spins and propels the water to the outside bowl. I believe water would spin away from the carrots and mushrooms, but I'm not sure just how dry they will be. I've only tried lettuce in the spinner...and it works great! Hope this helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you offer a smaller size |
Answer: | I will definitely buy a smaller one also |
Question: | How many cups of lettuce does this spinner hold |
Answer: | The bowl is 5 liters, which is about 5 quarts, or 20 cups. As big, or bigger than most other salad spinners. You probably wouldn't want to pack it tightly to capacity. But it easily holds the greens for a salad for 4 to 8 servings. |
Question: | Can this be usued to toss my girlfriends salad? She is always asking friends and neighbors to do this for her |
Answer: | If you aren’t kidding around, the answer is yes. The device is quite portable. She’ll love it, so you will likely not get it back. |
Question: | Can it spin dry clothes |
Answer: | If you want to use a salad spinner for small clothing items, get one of the hand crank ones, where you control the speed and direction on the top. The pump and drawstring ones don't offer enough control once clothes become bunched up from going the same direction for too long. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are they made in the USA |
Answer: | It does not come with a stand. |
Question: | are they good for straining tea |
Answer: | This is the finest mesh product we carry, and it is likely to be a good fit for what you need it for. However, we have not used it specifically for that purpose, and therefore can't guarantee any results. |
Question: | will they effectively strain pasta and support the weight of the noodles |
Answer: | I use it to strain eggs for custard, it would work for the soups too or any fine type of pureed food, but I don't think it would be the best for hard coarse type of food since you'll end up with the clear juice, I would go for apple sauce or any bigger particles of food with a fine mesh or Chinois |
Question: | Is the edge sealed well? I always have the problem of my quinoa or other small grain getting stuck in the edges |
Answer: | Send it back. The handle on the chinois welded to the strainer |

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone used this for angel hair pasta? are the holes small enough to stop the pasta from coming out |
Answer: | The holes are small enough to strain angel hair pasta. |
Question: | Does food tend to get stuck under to top metal band that surrounds collander |
Answer: | Yes - I have found food to get stuck under the top rim if you try to "pour" the contents out. Spaghetti noodles, bits of beans, etc. I am looking to replace this colander for that reason. I would not recommend it. The steel lip design is terrible. |
Question: | dimensions |
Answer: | I see S. Uzdanovich answered with some dimensions. In addition to that post I'd add a dimension of the mesh basket not including the rubber handles is 13 1/2. |
Question: | What are the actual colander dimensions- not with the extension? My sink is small |
Answer: | With the black handles pushed in as close to the silver colander part as you can, from the left black handle to the right black handle measures 14-3/8". {I think that was the answer to your question B. Raven} The black handles will extend out to 22" even. The colander INSIDE dimensions from left to right measures 12-3/16" and from front to back 8-11/16". The OUTSIDE dimensions of the colander is 9-8/16" front to back and 13-6/16" from left to right. Sitting on the counter, using the feet, it measures roughly 5" high. Hope it helps! |
Question: | Could it be used to slice carrots for dipping |
Answer: | It comes with a slicing disk that has 2 different slicing thicknesses. One side is thick and the other side is thin. The thick side should work just fine for dipping. Keep in mind that you have level cut on the end of the carrot so that you will get perfectly round slices. If it doesn't have a level cut on the end you won't be able to use them for dipping. I hope this helps. |
Question: | Fresh fry cutter for 8 cup food prossor |
Answer: | Cuisinart DLC-836 6-by-6mm Fruit, Vegetable and French Fry Disc Fits 7 and 11-Cup Processors |
Question: | Will this work for sweet potato french fries |
Answer: | Only if you want very thin matchstick type fries. I haven't actually used sweet potatoes but with regular white potatoes I cut them and they got smaller as they baked. |
Question: | I want know if i can use this on my cuisinart DLC 9 cup |
Answer: | I have the Cuisinart Prep 7 - 7 cup Food Processor. You might be able to use this French fry disc DLC836TX-1 6x6mm on your 9 cup. The reason I say this is the 4mm Standard Slicing Disc DLC-844TX-1 is compatible with both models, my 7 cup and the 9 cup. You can verify this on the Cuisinart website: www.cuisinart.com or call their Product Inquiry number at 1-800-726-0190 7a-11p EST M-F 9a-530p EST S & S. I hope I've been helpful. User questions & answers
Question: | do cuisinart mixing bowl lids stay on |
Answer: | Our experience is that the lids do stay on when needed. However, the lids are not heavy enough to allow stacking bowls on top of each other. |
Question: | Could I use this as a double boiler to melt chocolate on the stove |
Answer: | YES!! |
Question: | What kind of stainles steel? The number should be listed |
Answer: | There is no s/s number listed on the product. You could contact the manufacturer directly through their website. I have had them for over a year now and use them every day for bread making and whipping cream, mixing cakes etc. They are ideal for me as the lightweight means I can 'zero ' my electronic scale and add ingredients as I go easily ...my pyrex of the same size (the large) was just too heavy for my scale. I use a metal whisk attachment with my hand held mixer and I have had no problem with rusting/scratching. The lids fit well and the whole lot goes in the dishwasher with no issues. I'd highly recommend. |
Question: | Can anybody give me the width or diameter at top and bottom and the depth of each bowl? Thanks |
Answer: | Large bowl: Outside diameter = 10 1/8 in, Inside diameter = ~9 1/2 in, Outside height = 5 3/8 in, Inside depth = 5 1/4 inMedium bowl: Outside diameter = ~8 5/8 in, Inside diameter = 7 7/8 in, Outside height = 4 5/8 in, Inside depth = 4 1/2 inSmall bowl: Outside diameter = 7 in, Inside diameter = 6 1/4 in, Outside height = 3 5/8 in, Inside depth = 3 1/2 in |

User questions & answers
Question: | Ad says this is pre-sharpened but some mention it needs to be sharpened. Could a recent purchaser update |
Answer: | We used our directly out of box (after washing) and have used a handful of times since, no sharpening needed yet. |
Question: | Can I use on my induction stove top |
Answer: | No, this is designed and tested for outdoor grills. |
Question: | Can you use this stone in a Kamado Joe smoker |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Would this fit in a airfryer toaster oven toa |
Answer: | I think you are capable to do the math yourself. This is clearly marked as a 13 inch round stone. Therefore your toaster oven has to have 13 inches deep to close the door and 13 inches wide from side to side inside the oven. Most toaster ovens are not built that big. Now cuisinart makes at least three different air ovens and could be one of them might make it but I really doubt it. And most toster ovens are not 13 inches deep some may be 11 to 12 inside wide but definitely not the norm. So really can't you measure the inside of your own oven? So many toaster ovens out there I have no idea what brand or model you are even asking about here. Beats me in otherwords. |

Unlike tongs or spatulas, the Alfrescamore Pizza Spinners are thoughtfully designed to be long enough for the safe handling of pizza while it bakes in the oven. Made from durable stainless steel for years of use.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do they get rust |
Answer: | I have had mine for a year or more and the scent is still strong, especially after microwave for a minute! Great for sinus pressure. |
Question: | are these BPA free |
Answer: | I think it is silk, very soft material. |
Question: | Over time do the soft grip handles fade, slip or break apart |
Answer: | Unfortunately you can only spot clean it. Still worth it. I just buy a new one when this gets dirty. |
Question: | Anyone have information on the length of these utensils |
Answer: | The pillow is about 11" long by 4" wide. I really like it. You can throw it in the microwave or put it in the freezer. It is very calming. I personally keep it in the freezer and put it on my forehead to help me relax after I workout. I liked my first one so much that I bought one for my sister who suffers from anxiety, sleep restlessness and bi-polar depression. My Mom said that she wears hers every night when she sleeps and she loves it. For someone as picky as my sister... her using it every single day shows something. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this crinkle cut a carrot and sweet potato |
Answer: | This thing does not work. It can't even cut a cucumber. Waste of money. |

Answer: | This is answered in another question. Sounds like NO. |
Question: | Does this device shred for making coleslaw |
Answer: | Yes it makes Cole slaw, and new model has very little waste. |
Question: | will it shred hard cheeses |
Answer: | I returned this as it did not seem to be able to do anything as advertised except perfect shaped zucchini. Completely useless appliance in my book. |
