Answer:	When the unit is heating up it is too hot to touch, but that's completely understandable since it works so well. I heat it up, use it, then let it cool down before putting the top cover on before I put it away for storage. Again, this is the best kitchen appliance I have ever used!

Answer:	To correctly answer the question - no. It requires 120vac @ 60hz. British supply is 230vac @ 50hz. Need to buy version made for the juice where it will be used; this appliance is made to work on a 15amp 120v breaker which is common is US households.

Answer:	There is a magnetic connection between the cord and the fryer. If you attempt to connect the cord upside down, the cord will fall out of the fryer socket. Note which side you are trying to put the plug into the fryer socket, if it falls out turn the plug over and plug in with the opposite side up. Also the cord can't have ANY TENSION on it. The cord needs to be able to be plugged in to the wall socket without any form of pulling on the cord connected to the fryer. If you can't do this then you need a appliance extension cord (a heavy duty since plug extension generally 3ft long with only 1 plug) Don't just buy any cheap extension cord or power strip as they aren't designed to handle the load of the fryer and can overheat and start a fire.

I've cooked chicken breasts in it and depending on size you can get 4-6 in at once in the big frying basket. 1 lb of potatoes would go in the big basket just fine though.

Question:	where to get extra oil filters for Secura 4.2L/17 cup
Answer:	The fryer does not come with any oil filters. I comes with one set of installed carbon filters and also one extra set so that when you have the lid on, all vapors pass through the carbon and really helps with any smell in the kitchen. I purchased the oil filter that Amazon usually shows that would be a good accessory for the fryer. It does let small particles pass through but so far they have not affected anything. The next time I see a restaurant supply store I think I will check out their filters. The one that Amazon recommends is certainly better than nothing and only costs around $10.

Answer:	Not that I remember. I have used a fryer before, so I would likely have tossed it if it did. Pretty simple operation. Fill with oil to max fill line, plug it in, turn heat to highest setting, turn timer on, allow to heat up, lower food into oil and put the lid on. Check food every few minutes to see if done.

Answer:	There is no convenient spout to drain the oil. In fact you first have to remove the immersion heating assembly by lifting it up and out, then lift out the removable pot containing the oil from the outer housing to be able to pour the oil out.
Question:	Can the fryer be used for doughnuts that need to be fryed in lard
Answer:	I would disagree. I've used solid fats in every deep fryer I've ever owned (both lard and shortening). After they melt, they're synonymous with oil. Cleaning the unit after it has cooled is a different matter, but the solution is simply to pour the liquified fat into a separate container before it solidifies.

Answer:	The outer shell is separate from the inner container that holds the oil. So, there is about a half inch of space separating the inside container from the outer shell. The heating element is immersed in the oil and does not touch the bottom of the unit. The sides get warm to the touch. It is quite safe for a kitchen countertop.

Answer:	Sorry I'm late, don't check this email very often. The dial goes to 400, but if you go past that mark, maybe 425. This is a good skillet. I've put several other brands in my yard sales as white elephants, but this one is a keeper.

Answer:	The sides are about 21/2" to 3 " deep. It has a pour spout on one corner which makes the cover not seal. I have also contacted the company because after 3 uses the non stick is coming off. I would not buy this product again.

Question:	I seem to have received 2 models with aluminum pots. Is the nonstick black or a silver coating
Answer:	I don't really understand your question about this product since there are no nonstick coated parts in this unit. I have had about 5 of these units over the years and all of them have had a metal removable pot to hold the oil but none of the parts of this fryer have nonstick coatings. If using the fryer often it is almost impossible to prevent a build-up of oil residue around the sides and upper rim of the removable pot. A lot of elbow grease and scrubbing are required to clean off the built-up residue which also can accumulate on other areas of the fryer. Although very difficult to find now, there used to be a Dawn product by Procter & Gamble called Power Dissolver that would make the clean up of the grease residue much easier. I can no longer find it in local stores - not sure why. I noticed Amazon sells it for $24.99 a bottle which is about four times more expensive than I ever paid for the product. Overall the CoolDaddy is a great product if you deep fat fry more than occasionally.
Question:	How often do you dispose of the oil and change the oil? If you reuse the oil, does that decrease the quality of the food you fry
Answer:	I dispose of the oil once a month and clean it out then put in new oil. To keep the oil fresher during the month, I deep fry a small potato before frying other foods. The potato must be slit first. This takes the flavor of other foods out of the oil, like if you cook fish and want to cook chicken next. I would not keep the oil longer than a month especially in the summer.
Question:	this thing makes a lot of popping noise without anything in the oil/basket what's the deal
Answer:	Perhaps the oil you are using needs to be refreshed. It does make a little noise when it is heating if the oil is not fresh. If you just washed the oil reservoir and it is still wet it will pop when heating because the hot oil explodes the water droplets. This is dangerous and the oil reservoir should be completely dry before use.
Question:	Can you remove the bucket let's say for cleaning and would you buy this again, some say it doesn't get hot enough. Thanks
Answer:	I have had one of these for years and never had a problem with the oil boiling over. I believe the person who had that problem probably over filled the bucket with oil. There are marks on the bucket showing the oil capacity. Yes, I wish it would get hotter, but I believe that is a safety issue. I use it primarily to fry homemade chicken strips. They turn out very crispy if I don't try to fry too many at once. Usually five or six strips at a time is the right number. I usually drop each strip one-by-one into the hot oil after the basket is submerged. This allows me to better gauge the capacity and they don't stick together. This fryer is much easier to clean than any other fryer I've used. I highly recommend it.
