Answer:	Hi! There is not a visor clip made for this unit. What I would do is go to Hobby Lobby and buy a magnet the size where the original bracket mounting fits. Then I would go on Ebay and look under radar mounts and find one that fits on a visor. Take the magnet and use super glue and glue the magnet to the mount. You may have to do some modifications but it will work. If I have time I could make you one. This should work for you. It is an easy fix. Question:	The appears to be 2 large capacitors - what are their temp rating and capacitance rating? What brand
Answer:	I've reverse engineered the circuit. The tubes are implemented as cathode followers post fade and feed the power amp inputs. The cathode follower implementation is a little strange in 2 ways: 1- Triodes are paralled but one plate is disconnected (pin 1) 2- Both channels are connected to B+ via a shared 220K resistor (haven't bench tested yet but CROSSTALK?!?!). Subwoofer outputs are on a separate path and not routed through the tubes.

Question:	Hi, will this amp able to drive with adequate to loud volume, the wharfedale linton 85th speakers in a medium room, approx 18 x 20 feet? -cris
Answer:	Vinh, I took an audio recording of the hum just to try and find out exactly what kind of hum it is. I inspected the recording through a spectrogram. It turns out the hum is actually a chord of hums. There are hum notes at 95hz, 120hz*, 240hz* 360hz*, 600hz, and 720hz (*these were the loudest notes). I used a multimeter and checked for continuity between the IEC and RCA grounds. There was continuity. I opened up the unit and removed the exact rectifier board screw you described, as per your instructions. The hum was still present. There was still continuity between the IEC and RCA. I then tried removing all but one of the screws (I did not remove the screw that transformed the hum into a buzz when removed). The hum was still present. I checked the IEC and RCA for continuity with these three screws removed; there was continuity. Since removing those three screws did nothing, I put them back. Out of curiosity, I removed the one screw with the metal ring that was a part of the board underneath it. After I removed this screw I checked for continuity between the IEC and the RCA; There was NO continuity when this particular screw was removed (again, this is the screw that when removed, added unbearable buzzing to the amplifier output). I put that screw back since I already documented what this unit sounded like with this particular screw removed. Nothing I did to the rectifier board solved my hum issue. This is a low-level hum coming from 96dB sensitivity speakers that sit about one meter away from my listening position. Other bits of diagnosis information: If I listen to loudly mastered music playing at a low to moderate volume, I don’t hear the hum. If I listen to quietly mastered recordings at low to moderate volume, the hum is noticeable. The hum does not change whether the volume knob is at minimum or turned to maximum. The hum does not change when the input is changed between Aux, CD, and Tape. The hum did not change when there were absolutely no inputs plugged into the amplifier. Swapping the positions of all the tubes did not change the hum. I am completely baffled.

Answer:	The amp can be modified to have its sub out controlled by the volume (post-fade), if you know how to work on electronics safely and don't care about the warranty. Because of a phase flip in the sub LPF it's not a simple cut&jump. R48 and R49 are the L/R inputs to the sub LPF. Remove then and add a daughter board with a simple op-amp inverters. Connect the pads farthest from the relays to the inverter's outputs via 22K resistors. The post-fade signal can be tapped of the vol pot wiper (pre-tube) or the pwr amp inputs. Question:	Is this the one with point to point wiring and the tube cage
Answer:	To get an accurate sound-stage, with nice airy separation of instruments especially with small jazz groups, I find you MUST make sure with your hamsters or ferrets: a) they are, and always have been, feed on high quality oil and paper based feed. b) their claws are kept well clipped. If you don't do this you will get a lot of 7th and 9th harmonic distortion. This will totally mangle the slew rate of the amp, and could (even worse) lead to parasitic oscillation at high frequencies. House mice ? don't bother, I caught a few and tried them. Terrible sound.
Question:	Can I plug an audio technica record player directly into this amp or do I need a pre amp? (I don’t really understand what pre amps do
Answer:	You need to be more specific with your question: Adequate volume = ?? dB? Sensitivity of the Wharferdale speakers: ?? dB/m/watt? Room dimensions: 18x20x? feet? Is the room alive (lots of slap echo) or relatively dead (lots of soft cloth curtains, couches)? I play my music to as high as 85 dB on my 89 dB speakers in a room that is 16 x 30 x 9 that is reasonably alive (glass windows, plastic blinds, hardwood floors) and the amp drives it fine.

Answer:	My speakers are 89 dB sensitivity and I can hear tube hiss at 12 o'clock on the volume control if I put my ear on the drivers without music playing. Not a problem at listening position and at 12 o'clock the music is plenty loud in my biggish room (40x18x9). At 105 dB it may be a problem but I guess you won't need to crank it to 12 o'clock either. Answer:	How loud it will get greatly depends on your speaker sensitivity. If you are using very efficient speakers it will fill a medium size room with sound. My speakers have a sensitivity of 99 db and it will fill the medium size living and dining room with plenty enough sound for my liking. If you are talking about a large gathering of people in a large area I am not sure this amplifier will fit your needs.

Answer:	It would work. I’m using 8 ohms right now and I tried 4ohms also and it worked.
Question:	Does it have a connection for a powered subwoofer
Answer:	Most subwoofers have speaker level connectors. You connect all four speaker wires out from the amp into the sub and then there are four connectors to go out to the speakers from the sub. Then you can set the pass through levels on the subwoofer for the optimum sound you want. The sub handles the low tones and passes the higher tones on to your speakers. It works great. Plenty of tutorials on youtube and such.

Answer:	Douk audio lists input sensitivity at 500mv-2000mv... it’s a very decent albeit VERY entry level integrated tube amp. By itself it’s a wee bit weak on the bass response even into quite capable speakers (Klipsch RP-600m’s). I recently added a Chinese made Suca Audio tube preamp $38 which adds +/- 6db treble and +/- 10db bass! Literally night and day difference. This Amp with the addition of the preamp sounds DIVINE. If you decide to buy this definitely but the preamp as well. It made me go from “meh” to “WOW!!!!” Hope this helps.

Answer:	Keep in mind that the purpose of the meters (besides looks), is to show the true output power being sent to each speaker. If you're looking for more sensitivity or needle action, try using a dj mixer or pre amp that has an equalizer. If you add a little more bass, that will make them much more active. Or, if you have an equalizer, plug your source into the "EQ" input. And the EQ "output" into the AMP "input". Honestly, I wouldn't take the unit apart. It would likely void any warranty. Meanwhile, I've had my amp for about a month now. It's hooked up to a set of JBL S38 Studio Series speakers. I'm MORE than happy. The tubes had time to burn-in, and this unit is the best sounding amp I've owned in 50 years! I listened to a clip on u two-b called hot pipes which features a gigantic organ with symphony. Your house will GROWL from the low notes of the organ! It honestly has just as good of sound as the big movie theater in town. The audio chain in this unit is totally clean. NO hiss, NO hum, NO static. The stereo separation is EXCELLENT. Some instruments jump out at you as if you're right in the studio/hall with them! Whoever designed this amp, knows what they're doing and deserves recognition and praise! There's NOTHING I would change about this amplifier, it's simply perfect.

Answer:	Car speakers most definitely can sound good for home use. Nathaniel doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. Will it make all car speakers sound good? No, definitely not. However, there are very high quality speakers out there that are aimed at the automotive market. Are they going to sound like $10,000 a piece speakers, no. However there isn't actually anything that has to be different between a car speaker and a home speaker, other than where it is used. I actually have some Hertz speakers in a project I've been building, and they sound great. Other high end car audio manufacturers are Morel and Focal - and yes, those speakers could also be made to sound great in the home. Unfortunately, the audio world is full of a bunch of know-nothing snobs who can hear the most incredible differences between audio setups - unless they're put in a double blind test. In particular, check out double blind tests done on amplifiers to get an idea.
