Answer: Of these choices, it's a gel. But not the gel of your eyeliner. More liquid and the glitter side is prone to separation in the heat. A good shaking will mix it back up again. Overall, a good product. here are the items I think a buyer should keep in mind. I have tried several of these colors and... First, be aware of the colors not being exactly what you expect. The green is teal (really pretty but not green) Burnished bling is copper. Desert dazzle glitter is gold. Cobalt crystal is really light blue. Midnight glitz is dark blue. Second, the shadow side has a brush much too big to apply sparingly. No way you could use the shadow as liner. Third, they are bought and shipped by Amazon, so you can return them without a hassle. Fourth, they are made in the USA to FDA standards, so my sensitive skin has had no adverse reactions. Finally, they last in the tubes a long time. I have had four of them over a year and they are still the right consistency. I am buying one more color today.

The glass part of the bulb measures 11.5". The glass part of the bulb plus the visible plastic housing measures 12.25". The length of the entire bulb area opening measures 13". I've had a four different Ottlite lamps and each one required a different bulb. Bulbs rarely fit more than one specific Ottlite lamp.

There are just too many Ott bulbs to choose from and they all appear to be slightly different. More specifically, in the view of the bulb as oriented in the question put to me (with the base down and both pins visible), the pin on the right is closer to the viewer than the pin on the left. (Mathematically, it has rotational symmetry with a rotation of 180° but it does not have mirror symmetry. Google these terms if that is not familiar terminology.)
