Question:	Is it easy to clean
Answer:	Yes it is very easy to clean. The reservoir alone with the heating element lifts out of the unit, that makes it a snape clean.
Question:	The oil filter it self, does it need to be replaced or cleaned
Answer:	The filter is a built in wire mesh type and doesn't need to be replaced as far as I can tell. The only part that may need to be replaced at some point is the rubber seal around it. Hope that helps. I've been using mine for a few months and absolutely love it. The best part of this fryer is the filter system and how you can drain your oil and store it in the plastic container until you need it again. It makes for cleaning and replacing the oil a breeze.
Question:	Can you leave the plastic oil container in while frying
Answer:	Yes - The 'fry" switch keeps the hot oil separated from the plastic oil storage container while frying. Once the oil has cooled, the switch is turned to drain and it flows into the storage container.

Question:	where to get extra oil filters for Secura 4.2L/17 cup
Answer:	The fryer does not come with any oil filters. I comes with one set of installed carbon filters and also one extra set so that when you have the lid on, all vapors pass through the carbon and really helps with any smell in the kitchen. I purchased the oil filter that Amazon usually shows that would be a good accessory for the fryer. It does let small particles pass through but so far they have not affected anything. The next time I see a restaurant supply store I think I will check out their filters. The one that Amazon recommends is certainly better than nothing and only costs around $10.

Fill with oil to max fill line, plug it in, turn heat to highest setting, turn timer on, allow to heat up, lower food into oil and put the lid on. Check food every few minutes to see if done.

Answer:	It is magnetic but it comes out very easily. For this and other reasons, buy something else!
Question:	How do you remove the oil for cleaning? Is there a removable container that holds the oil
Answer:	I wait until unit is cool about 2 hours ,remove the lid which slides right off,and pour into a small coffee can using a strainer until filled. Or I use a small, ceramic cheese container {about 18 ozs.} and leave on my counter. I found the decorative container at a flea market for 50 cents and it works great! Typically, I use my deep fryer about once a week and it is very easy to clean.
Question:	how is the clean up. can u take the container that hold the oit out to strain and store left over oit
Answer:	Personally, I don't understand all the complaints about cleaning this unit. I have a sensitive nose when it comes to rancid oil so I like to refrigerate my oil in between uses and I find this fryer very easy to empty and clean. The top comes off easily up to the halfway open position. The carbon filter cover comes right off the lid and the carbon filter just lifts out. I rinse those top three pieces in hot water and then soak them in hot soapy water for about 10 minutes while the bottom part of the unit is cooling. I wait until the appliance itself is no longer hot to the touch and then pour the oil into an oil keeper with a filter screen (Aulett Home B077D7RDJV) so the oil stays clean. The oil stays in the pour groove on the corner of the deep fryer while pouring into my oil keeper; I have had no problems with drips whatsoever. I then wash my oil keeper screen and store it separately from the oil keeper. If I don't think I'll be using the oil again soon I may then empty the completely cooled oil from the oil keeper into a sealable container like Tupperware or Lock-n-Lock just to make sure I have no spills in the fridge. But the unit is so easy to clean since it is non-stick. I put a little detergent inside the cooker with some hot water and wipe the inside with my soapy dishcloth and then rinse the unit out being careful not to get water on the plug or dial. The unit isn't immersible but, honestly, I'm not so uncoordinated that I can't rinse it without getting the entire outside of the unit wet. (The unit is so small and lightweight so it is easy to handle.) I then wipe the outside with my soapy cloth if any oil has dripped but, like I said, I haven't found drips to be a problem. Then I dry the whole thing to keep it looking new. The entire process takes less than 5 to 10 minutes and is no harder to clean then if I was using a frying pan or dutch oven on the stovetop. To me it is worth it to have deep fried food. I am a scaredy cat when it comes to frying on the stove. This unit takes the fear out of frying for me. And let's face it, there is nothing like french fries fried in a deep fat fryer. I'm looking forward to frying breaded tilapia for fish tacos and tempura sweet potatoes. I'll write a full review after I have fried more than just french fries.

Answer:	I fit a whole 6lb chicken in with no problem, sort of diagonal, breast side down for 1hr @350, then turned over for 15min. The wings only stuck up a little, & they were no problem to push down as I closed the basket. When done, the shrinkage took care of that issue when opening. Best chicken I ever ate. Much better than oven roasted. Crispy skin on the outside, & tender & juicy on the inside with no dried out sections or blood near the bone.

Answer:	Using a candy thermometer, mine goes beyond 400 degrees Fahrenheit and when I cook with it, it cooks the outside just fine but the inside stays raw. I was also using breaded chicken that had sat out to room temperature.

Answer:	You never use more that seven (7) 8-ounce cups of oil. There is an oil level line within the cooker. You set the heat control at 400 degrees and preheat for 20 minutes. Leave heat control at 400 degrees for frying. You can reuse the oil if you strain it to remove any food particles. Store the strained oil in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dark place..........

Answer:	Just to clarify, Crisco is NOT lard. Lard is animal fat. Crisco is solid vegetable shortening - mostly from soybean oil and palm oil.

Answer:	The 06006 is 5 quart capacity. 06003 is 6 quart capacity.

The GranPappy holds up to six cups of oil or three pounds of shortening, and it can accommodate up to six servings of food at a time. Answer:	When the unit is heating up it is too hot to touch, but that's completely understandable since it works so well. I heat it up, use it, then let it cool down before putting the top cover on before I put it away for storage. Again, this is the best kitchen appliance I have ever used!

Answer:	It is significantly bigger! I own both and usually use the GranPappy unless cooking for just myself. I fry a lot of fish and it is much quicker to fry up a batch using the GanPappy. It does not take that much more oil (20%)...
