The fact that this product is lined is not mentioned in the description because it is obvious that this MUST BE LINED. Because the opposite is not possible. Answer:	You don’t. Just change it to clock mode. The screen goes gray, but you can still read it. I’m very happy with it.

Answer:	The instruction manual says "When the countdown timer reaches 0:00:00, the timer will beep and flash for 1 minute and start to count up." So I specifically tested for this and it's correct. After 1 minute, the beep and flash automatically stop although if you press the start/stop button before 1 minute, the beep/flash stop immediately. It's a good basic timer, I like it - and when you're not using it as a timer, it doubles as a clock (time of day) if that's of any interest.
