Answer:	I'm not quite sure why I am responding to this question but I am. All I know is that this thing has improved my bread making and pizza making operations with regards to the yeast. Anything else is just clutter.

Answer:	Yes LR44 should work as it is the same as the Vinnie iLL54f listed on mine. I couldn't find either so I bought the Energizer 357. Now lights come on but it only displays Celsius. None of the buttons work and it won't go off. It was a great little thermometer while it worked. Now I've spent more on a battery than I would have to buy a new thermometer.

Question:	Can you use it for milk or candy
Answer:	The box we have has five languages, first being German,then English and French and another two languages. I believe the tablets are manufactured in Germany, and they might have various packaging, like some might be specifically packaged for EU countries. Just a guess. No way I can say if you received fake tablets. However, some Amazon vendors do sell counterfeit items. Just recently we got filters for a Miele refrigerator which were obviously fake, not by Miele, and did not work in our machine. Complained, and got money refunded.

There are thermometers for that application where the temp probe is placed in the meat while on the grill and the temperature is read remotely on your phone or a receiver. If you're talking about leaving the instrument in the grill when not in use I personally would not. Not that you couldn't.

Answer:	The boiling point of water is 212 F only at sea level. If you are at a higher altitude, the boiling point is lower.

Answer:	Was just about to purchase until I saw "quality is not prolem" and referencing American quality. Both statements are dead give away for being made in China. I may not be able to find a domestically made thermometer but I may be able to find one made in any other country in the world. No more China for me if I can help it.

It has as much to do with the "quality" of the metal, as it does with the intended use of the metal. Not everything needs the most nonferrous of stainless steel. The suggestion to try a refrigerator magnet on your oven to see how ferrous it is, is an excellent idea. Same goes for your refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher (and I suppose any other stainless steel appliance you might have). This way you know if a magnet will stick or not before you buy anything for it.

The loudest sounds it makes only happens if a fever temperature is detected, but I still don't think it would be loud enough to wake someone as long as you took the temperature from the farthest distance possible.
