Answer:	Interesting question. I think it would work fine but i would rinse it in water when the bourbon balls get sticky. This is a quality kitchen tool so should work fine.

Answer:	The one I bought did have a sharp edge which is a necessity for cutting melon balls but my unit was tossed into the garbage because the stem connecting the scoop to the handle was thin and bent with each scoop, in other words a real piece of crap from China. I would suggest you instead buy in-house at Target or Best Buy and Beyond for a quality product. Amazon should remove this item from their inventory.

I don’t know what a hush puppie scoop is but I’m going to check it out.

Answer:	1-1/2 inch diameter (width of scoop). The scoop is about 1 inch deep. It holds 4 US teaspoons which is 0.67 US ounces. It is equivalent to a size #50 disher scooper.

Answer:	It's a smaller sized scoop. So, if you're into smaller scoops it might work. While it feels sturdy, I wonder how it would stand up to hard ice cream.

Answer:	It depends on the size of the cupcake batter. This will make a medium size ball of cookie dough, cupcake batter might be a little runny for this and these might be too small. It seems like this is the wrong tool for the job. It would scoop more efficiently than a spoon, less efficiently than a ladle.
