Answer:	Order the 71”. From end to end it will actually be about 70-1/2” long so it will fit. The little it of room on each side won’t matter. If you go any bigger it won’t fit.

The 48" wide shade installed as an outside mount might work better. Finished valance head rail width would be 47 1/2" and actual shade width measurement is 45 1/2".

Answer:	Mine was stained with carrot juice. I ran it through the dishwasher and the stain was removed.

Answer:	You do not have to touch any blades. The horizontal blade actually does not move. The knob on the side of the mandoline rotates a cam that adjusts the platform height relative to the fixed blade. That is what sets the thickness . To rotate the knob simply push it in and twist to the desired thickness, from 1mm (paper thin) to 7mm or to a julienne slice of 3.5mm or 5.5mm.

Answer:	I have an OXO handheld model and this vegetable holder would work wh it but you would have no guidance as you propel the food toward the blade, which would not create a problem in use as far as I can see. I Keep mine right next to my Benriner slicer so that I never again neglect to use it!
