Answer:	That's a great question. The bottles have a flat bottom. However, if your sparkling cider is causing the bottles to break, then it sounds like you may have too much carbonation pressure. Do you know if your carbonation seems high? How much priming sugar did you use per volume? Was the cider completely dry at the time of bottling? Also, if the cider has some wild organisms fermenting in the bottle, this will certainly result in excessive carbonation pressure as well. Does the cider have any unique aromas or flavors? Does it erupt in foam when you open the bottles? Next, were the bottles you were using new or used? If they were used, maybe they had some weak points that caused them to fail. Answer:	There is one stopper. It works quite well on bottles that have the wider neck ring near the rim. On my regular sparkling wine bottles, such as Mumm Napa, Freixenet, the 'wings' on the stopper were not long enough to snap down over the neck ring. So a couple of pumps adding pressure and the stopper popped right off. I kept it to use on sparkling water, seltzer, etc..

Answer:	It depends on how full the bottle is, In general, you will need about 15 pumps for 3/4ths of a bottle and 35 for half a bottle. You will start to feel a little resistance and get a sense of when you have pumped it enough.
