The hype about this teapot that keeps the tea warm by itself is not true. Cast iron does not retain heat by nature. You do need the warming solution like the tealight of mug warmer.

Question:	Is the bottom flat and/or painted? I want to use it on a glass top range
Answer:	The bottom is painted the same color as the rest of it. It's not meant to be heated on the range though. You heat the water in a tea kettle and then pour it in this teapot to brew.

Answer:	I bought the red one and it was black.
Question:	How much water/tea can the teapot hold
Answer:	If you fill it to the tippy-top, it's just about 27 ounces. Subtracting the water that the tea absorbs, you get 26oz. I don't like to say it holds x amount of cups, because people use cups of all different sizes. I use tall 14oz mugs. This teapot makes two perfect cups of tea for me. But in the tea world, a "cup of tea" is generally agreed to equal 6 fluid ounces. When buying a teapot, if it says it makes 3 cups it usually means 18oz. This annoys me so much that I need a cup of tea to calm down whenever I think about it.Tips: I like fairly strong tea, so I put 4 teaspoons of tea in the basket. (Not a measuring spoon, an actual teaspoon.) This measures about 10-12 grams, depending on the tea.Also, I recommend that you do NOT wash the inside of it with soap. As long as you don't put sugar in the pot, you only need to rinse it out and put it upside down to dry.(Oh, and a "cup of coffee" is about 5oz, so keep that in mind too when buying coffee makers.)

Answer:	Hi, the bottom of the teapot is flat. I do not believe the bottom is painted but I'm not 100% sure. Do you have a concern about the bottom being painted? I don't use the tea kettle on the stove. I boil the water and add it to the pot but I have used it with a warmer that keeps the tea hot without any issue. I love the tea pot. I use it at work and get lots of compliments on it. It makes amazing tea!

Answer:	No- The enamel coating protects the teapot from rust and leaching iron into tea. However, this enamel is brittle, and thus high thermal temperatures will cause cracks and chips. This is the main reason you should not use cast iron teapot on a stove. Heat your water in a kettle and steep the tea in the teapot. if you want your tea to remain warm you can get a tea light candle warmer.

Answer:	It comes with a tea infuser which is a screen for loose leaf teas. Makes 4 cups when filled.

Answer:	It's blue.....it's heavy.....and it only holds enough liquid to serve two people. If you "hotten the pot" as the instructions advise, your tea will stay hot for about an hour. Don't drop it on your foot or your new granite countertops!

Answer:	Hi, It does not say where it is made on the item itself, and I no longer have the box. It is well made however, and has a black enamel interior. It's quite hefty, and the strainer is wide and large to keep the tea leaves from being too crowded. Hope that helps.
