Question:	are the lids really manufactured overseas? i thought all-clad was now having all components manufactured in the US
Answer:	I got referred this because I have the Cuisinart GG-12 set, which is the ceramic coated non-stick version. The ceramic coating does not permit odors to develop as it is impervious.For the teflon/polymer coatings you could try wiping the surfaces down with hydrogen peroxide. If there is decaying food stuck in the surface coating the peroxide will oxidize and destroy the foreign material. If the odor is due to over heating - and usually you can tell because the surface becomes powdery, you are out of luck - all you can do is toss the pan because if you continue to cook with it you will be eating the coating.If you are considering a new set, I cannot rate the ceramic coated pots high enough. My daughter forgot to soak the pot she made mac & cheese in, and I found it the next morning after it had dried. When I pulled out the wooden spoon that had dried in the sauce, the entire coating on the pot came off in one piece. Clean-up turned out to be wiping it down with a soapy sponge and rinsing.
Question:	Is there any exposed aluminum on rims? 2 previous ss sets have an exposed aluminum strip on rim so they corrode in dishwasher
Answer:	Yes, the coating is a ceramic and is free of heavy metals such as cadmium.I've had my set for a year now and except for the nuisance of not being dishwasher safe, they are quite nice. Dried Mac & Cheese wipes right off.If you need a set that is dishwasher safe, I recommend the Henkle Zwilling Spirit cookware. I have the 10 piece set, plus a couple of extra skillets and pots. It is dishwasher safe.

Answer:	Yes, this product is Teflon free, I checked when I bought it as a gift. The way to can tell is that is says that it is "PTFE/PFOA-free" and, according to Wikipedia: "Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications. The best known brand name of PTFE is Teflon by DuPont Co." Hope this helps.
Question:	Is this 18/10 stainless, 304 surgical stainless, or 316 surgical stainless
Answer:	We bought the Cuisinart 10" saute pan 8 or 10 months ago, but I do think I read from the info that came with the pan that they claimed the coating was lead and cadmium free. Really like this pan -- it is "non-stick" if you season it and treat it right.

Answer:	I believe that is right. I have had mine for approx 6 months now so not sure how accurate that is. I love these pans.
Question:	I'm not a chef but a homemaker. I'm confused with some other all clad not d5 that they complain about the fish or egg sticking to the stainless steel
Answer:	I have a glass cook top and they do just fine. I haven’t had trouble with the lids- there is one that will fit each pot. Not one for each pot but one that will fit the pots in the set.
Question:	Can this set be use on induction cooktops
Answer:	They clean so easily, we don't put them in the dishwasher. I've read mixed reviews as to dishwasher results, so we just don't do it.
Question:	Is this set made in the USA? I know some of All-Clad's products are and some aren't
Answer:	As with any cookware with metal handles, if you leave them on enough heat for long enough, you should expect the handles to get hot. I wouldn't say these get any hotter than any other cookware with metal handles. Use a potholder if you need to.

Question:	Are they lint-free
Answer:	Yes, the handles get hot because they are not plastic or rubber coated including the sides of the pans. They cook evenly and are beautiful and so it is a trade off I guess. You just need a towel or pot holder handy before grabbing anything. If this type of pan is something you really want, you will get used to using them. I have no regrets with my purchase.

Answer:	They do, but if cooking something in the fry pan requires a lid, using one of the saute pans in the set would be a better option.The fry pans have short, sloped sides that enable steam to escape effectively . . .placing a lid on the pan would cancel out that feature. The straight sided saute pans have taller sides and keeps steam where you need it, it the pan . . .the lid enhances that feature.

Answer:	Every piece of the All-Clad brand is made in Cannonsburg, Pa. which is an outer suburb of Pittsburgh. We are looking at purchasing the 10 piece set and have done a lot of research on All-Clad. Even the metals the company uses to make their pieces come from within the USA.

Answer:	Let me rephrase your question. Would an average, every day driver appreciate a Mercedes Benz, Lexus or even a Cadillac over a Camry? All are good and competent machines but would a driver notice the difference? I think yes. So with cookware the weight, finish and performance is noticeably different, better. I use ceramic coated cast iron and All-Clad SS Copper Core and I enjoy cooking and cleaning up when I am done. They are also very easy on the eye.

Answer:	MC2 is 2 Layers of aluminum and an inside layer of stainless steel with a brushed finish. It is primarily a true commercial product, and a bit less expensive than the Stainless/Aluminum/Stainless most people associate with All-Clad, while still having the durability and non-reactivity you'd expect from the stainless cooking surface. Because of the aluminum construction it won't work on an induction range.

Answer:	Yes, it’s a stainless steel cooking surface. I’ve used the pot several times over the years to make bagels with a brief water/lye bath prior to baking, and there have been no ill effects. This cookware has stood up to lots of punishment, and it’s still going strong.

Answer:	Go to the All-Clad website. It clearly says "Made in the USA". MC2 is Aluminum/Aluminum/Stainless construction with a brushed exterior. It is a bit less expensive than the Stainless/Aluminum/Stainless or Copper Core (!) or 5-Layer (!!) construction. All-Clad also offers the 5-Layer pans in a brushed stainless finish. MC2 is the most industrial of the All-Clad products and was originally conceived as true commercial cookware where esthetics were second to durability and cost. MC2, like all aluminum cookware, will not work with an induction burner.
