| Answer: | I'm pretty sure you could use it over an open flame camp stove though I've never done it. I use mine as a dishpan but I have put it on the electric stove to sterilize jars and no harm was done. It's stainless steel -- not the bad kind that's ubiquitous these days for cookie sheets and such. |

| Answer: | All the side edges are 1/2 inch measuring on the top sides if pan. Where the corners are curved the measurement from inside top of lip to outside corner are 1 1/4 inch. The lips are of equal size but the outer edge curves downward creating a channel underneath the lip that measures 3/8 of an inch on all sides. So your rectangle cut openings should measure 9 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches long and that should enable the pan to be dropped into that opening with the lip resting on the top of bar.I would cut the opening as I mentioned on a piece of cardboard first to be sure the pan drops in and still has enough room for the the lip to rest on top but not wiggle. Just a side note, I bought mine to use as a dishpan but my brother was mentioning to me he needed to adapt his boat trailer so the tires were not rubbing and when he described his problem to me I suggested these pans. He bought 4, painted them black, drilled holes in the corner lips and mounted them (like a wheel well) onto the trailer and they worked great!! A lot cheaper than having something custom made and welded on. Hope this helps!! |
