9 best induction cooktop cookwares
Induction cooktop cookware is designed specifically for use with induction cooktops, which rely on electromagnetic induction to heat cookware directly. Here's what you should know about induction cookware:
Material Compatibility: Induction cooktops require cookware that is made of ferrous (iron-containing) materials, such as cast iron, stainless steel with magnetic properties, or certain types of clad materials. Copper, aluminum, and glass cookware will not work on induction cooktops unless they have a magnetic base or are specifically designed for induction.
Flat and Smooth Bottom: Induction cookware should have a flat and smooth bottom to ensure maximum contact with the induction cooktop's surface. A warped or uneven bottom may result in uneven heating.
Magnetic Properties: To check if your existing cookware is compatible with induction, use a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, it likely has the necessary magnetic properties.
Clad Cookware: Some of the best cookware for induction cooktops is clad cookware, which consists of multiple layers of different metals.Stainless steel cookware with an aluminum or copper core is a popular choice. These layers distribute heat evenly and efficiently.
Cast Iron: Cast iron cookware, such as skillets and Dutch ovens, works exceptionally well with induction cooktops due to their excellent heat retention and distribution properties.
Safety Features: Induction cooktops are known for their safety features. They only heat up when compatible cookware is placed on the surface, reducing the risk of burns or accidents. The cookware itself doesn't get as hot as with other cooktop types.
Efficiency: Induction cooking is highly efficient because it directly heats the cookware, making it faster and more precise than traditional gas or electric stoves. It also offers rapid temperature adjustments.
Easy Cleaning: Induction cookware is often easy to clean because the smooth surface of the cooktop doesn't allow spills to burn onto it. This can also extend the lifespan of your cookware.
Cost: Quality induction-compatible cookware can be an investment but is worth it for the precision and efficiency it provides. There are various price ranges to suit different budgets.
Maintenance: To maintain your induction cookware, avoid overheating and never use abrasive materials for cleaning. Follow the manufacturer's care instructions for the specific type of cookware you have.
Induction cooktop cookware is an excellent choice for those looking for efficient and precise cooking methods. When purchasing induction-compatible cookware, consider the type of cooking you do most often, the size of the cookware, and your budget. With the right cookware, you can fully enjoy the benefits of cooking on an induction cooktop.

User questions & answers
Question: | can I stack the pots |
Answer: | They are very hard to stack because of their lids. The lids do fit nice and tight on each pan BUT when you flip it upside down to have the handle out of the way, for a nice flat surface to stack, the lid slides off causing a tumble. We stack the pots and pans only (no lids) and place the lids on the side. It's not space friendly but they didn't compromise on these for storing ease..... Wish we could of had both |
Question: | Why are mine yes-stick and black after the first use? I have been boiling them with dish washer to see if i can remove the stains with no luck at all |
Answer: | The blackness is charred glazing from whatever your cooking. To prevent or minimize, heat the pan slowly with low heat and a little oil. For cleaning, Bar Keepers Friend is great. Other things you might have on hand are cream of tartar, and or vinegar. My personal favorite is using wine while the pan is still hot. Wine is an excellent deglazing tool, and depending on what you’re cooking can add flavor, if done while the food is still in the pan. Happy cooking! |
Question: | Have any of you considered the multi-ply set from Cooks Standard and Tramontina? If so, what made you choose Cuisinart? I'm having trouble deciding |
Answer: | UPDATE: Comparing Cuisinart, Tramontina and Cooks Standard triply clad stainless steel cookware. In checking further professional reviews, I realised that there were a couple of errors in the information in my original review, below. Tramontina is manufactured in both Brazil and China. The triply clad cookware is ALL triply clad stainless. Another model is their gourmet prima, which looks very similar, but has only the triply base. Tramontina tested out positively against both Cuisinart and Cooks Standard in three cases, and both its triply and prima models beat out Cuisinart altogether. Cooks Standard was not a contender in the latter review. The main selling point for Tramontina over Cuisinart and Cooks Standard is quality, design and efficiency. Cuisinart and Cooks Standard both have flared rims, making pouring better. Cooks Standard is thought to lack beauty. However Cuisinart’s handles are poorly designed, stay too hot and have a point which can cut into the hand. Tramontina triply only offers the flared rims on its skillets. Their Prima model offers it throughout. Regardless of that drawback, Tramontina is consitldered a superior product in the three areas tested. In view of these clarifications and additional information, I have since decided to purchase the Tramontina cookware, over the Cuisinart. I do apologize for the original review errors, and hope that this additional information is as helpful to other buyers as it has been for me! baj |
Question: | Will it work on induction cooktops |
Answer: | Stainless, cast iron and enameled cookware generally ok. Some cladded pans as well. Goodwill got all my old aluminium. Be cautious of sizes of the bottom of the pan. My LG induction top has three sizes and too big or too small just will not turn burner on. Perhaps as it should be, I guess. But check your cooktop's manual for any word on pan sizes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it help to distribute heat evenly? My induction cooktop is hot only near the center |
Answer: | Oven safe up to 350 degrees. So only at lower temp. The handles will probably melt if you use it at 400 degrees or broil. |
Question: | Can you use induction cook ware on a regular stove |
Answer: | No! These pans have an abrasive coating on the bottom of the pans which will instantly mar your nice glass/ceramic stove top with fine scratches. Yes, they will "work" on your stove, but over time, you will begin to see the scratches building up and may wonder where the scratches came from. I tested one pan on my ceramic top (after I opened the package and noticed the sandpaper like design on the bottom) and I now have a ring of fine scratches on my stove. I promptly repackaged the set and sent it back. Very disappointing and concerning. |
Question: | Can this product be used on a gas hob for pans that are too small for the gas ring diameter |
Answer: | NO, they do NOT. Don't listen to clowns making snarky statements. Both lids SINK into each of the fry pans, they do not sit ON TOP Of any frypan! There are NO LIDS for these fry pans in this set and I just ordered it, August 2020. Additionally, the lids slide around and don't sit well even in the pots! this causes excess steam to come out the side instead of the little hole. I feel completely ripped off by this inferior set made who knows where that maybe at one time was more quality, but I am sorry I even purchased this. It's now 27% less $ just a few weeks after I bought it, so maybe they know something isn't right too, but it's too late for me, I got gypped. |
Question: | Can you use a pot/pan of any type of material? Magnetic pans also can be used |
Answer: | I'm not sure what these other answers mean? We got the set and no damned steak OR professional chef came with it and to make matters worse, they won't even give me a refund!! The whole reason I ORDERED this set was for the steak and cleanup team. Come on man! What happened to America?? They used to give out free models with these things back in my day. God I miss the 80s... |

What is Impact Bonding?
Impact bonded cookware is highly durable cookware, compatible with any form of cooktop use: gas, electric, infrared, ceramic and especially induction cooking! Created by a friction process to form the bond between the base of the vessel and the disc, no adhesive element is applied. The disc is placed on the base of the vessel, and when passed through the impact bonding machine, through pressure and friction, the bond is formed. The typical instantaneous pressure applied by a friction press ranges from 800 to 1500 tons! Impact bonding provides the cookware with a complete, secure attachment of the cooking disc to the base of the pot/pan.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can u use these pans on gas stoves |
Answer: | We have our stove on order, but took the diffuser to the store and tried it out. It seemed to heat the pan evenly. The whole diffuser gets hot, so am assuming your whole pan will heat the same, as our whole pan boiled water all around the pan equally. |
Question: | Does it work on Nuwave induction surface |
Answer: | Yes, to be induction ready they have to have copper , stainless steel, or cast iron they can all be used on regular stoves. |
Question: | Is hard to clean |
Answer: | Not familiar with gas. The only type of cookware that I tried this with was an aluminum pancake pan on my induction stove top. On the highest setting it did not transfer enough heat to brown the pancakes |
Question: | Is this 18/10 stainless steel |
Answer: | I believe so. I use it to fool my induction element if I am using aluminum or Copper bottom pots and pans. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this cookware work on the Max Burton induction cooktop |
Answer: | Yes, good conductors of heat would do well. |
Question: | Is this nickel free |
Answer: | Our induction cookware is compatible with induction cook tops. We have not done specific research with the Nuwave however if it requires induction compatible cookware then our line of cookware meets that requirement. |
Question: | does food stick in the pans |
Answer: | Really easy to clean. I wouldn't recommend using a strong scouring pad on the exterior parts as it may scratch. The only other part that is somewhat difficult to clean would be where the handles connect on the inside of the pots. However, those parts are easily cleaned with a toothbrush if something is really jammed in there, which is rare. They say to not use them on high settings, but I do it all the time and they don't even discolor. They do get hotter than regular pans as the sides heat up as well. The handles stay cool, except for the pot you would boil water in. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Is this set FULLY compatible with all induction cooktops? Do the set have lids that fit the skillets? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY..DOES A MAGNET STICK STRONGLY TO THE BOTTOMs |
Answer: | Correct, this line of cookware is made of 18/10 stainless steel! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can baking with this |
Answer: | I have no idea what a Max Burton cooktop is, I have a GE and it works perfectly on that. I don't see why it wouldn't work on yours. An induction is an induction. If it doesn't advise you to use a special kind of cookware I think it would work! |
Question: | How long is this, including the handles |
Answer: | Stainless steel has a high Nickel content. Thats what makes it stainless. Different manufactures use different amounts of nickel per their design's. Nickel is pricey! you can judge the amount of nickel by the cost of the item. A salidmaster 3 qt runs about 300$, I would expect this line of cookware to have a minimum amount of nickel. |
Question: | Will it warp or bend over time with heat |
Answer: | Food will stick to almost every bare metal pan and the trick is to season every cooking surface the same as you would a cast iron pan if the handles will allow an oven temp of 350 for 30 minutes, stove top medium heat otherwise. You tube has a number of chefs demonstrating stainless and aluminum bakeware seasoning. Very thin layer of cooking oil or crisco otherwise you'll hate what happens next. Stainless needs to be heated slowly at lower temps before oil and food is added and when your sunnyside eggs slide out like a new Teflon pan, you've mastered the art of seasoning and using your pans. |
Question: | Would this work on an induction cooktop |
Answer: | I have several complete sets of cookware. I have several types of cookware and they are aluminum, glass, stainless steel and just steel. Most of the Stainless Steel sets have glass tops with the little hole for steam escape (By the way doesn't work completely. It still spits all over the stove). This Duxtop Whole Clad Tri Ply set is for me the best set that I have ever purchased. If the item that you are cooking is set on low, you do not have the sputtering all over the stove. I have put 99% of the other sets in the shed and garage. It is my belief that you will enjoy this set or at least I do.An induction cooker is NOT A MAGNET. It distributes its energy the any item that a magnet will stick to the cookware. The Cookware does not stick to an induction cooker. The induction cooker is extremely fast in boiling water or anything that has water in the container. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I need a pot with a diameter of 7.5-8 inches. Which is better, the 1.6 quart or 2.5 quart |
Answer: | Yes it can go in the oven |
Question: | Where is Duxtop made |
Answer: | 21 inches |
Question: | Does this have a non-stick surface or is it difficult to clean if stuff gets burned on to it |
Answer: | We use on an induction cooktop that has a quick preheat setting. We noticed the pan will warp/bend when it gets real hot. So far it has been returning to the flat shape after cooling. |
Question: | Can it only be used with induction cooking? How about gas burners |
Answer: | Yes. I use mine on an induction cooktop but I do find it gets very hot and I usually have to make my pancakes on a certain low setting. |
