User questions & answers

Question: how's this stuff for fine dress shoes
Answer: Black or very dark brown dress shoes that you choose to wear in the rain. Otherwise find a good leather conditioner that is known to not darken leather. There are more than one on the market that are not supposed to. I have some very light leather and Bick 4 has not darkened them. Let's also has a product that is not supposed to darken too. Always test an in conspicuous area, especially if you own a fine dress shoe. Many years ago I learned the hard way
Question: Has anyone used this on leather auto seats? I used it on my boots and loved it, but I do not want to change the color of my MIata seats
Answer: Many happy customers have used both the Heavy Duty LP & the Leather Oil successfully on their auto leather. To read a review from a customer who restores the upholstery in classic cars, visit the product page for Heavy Duty LP at our own website, Obenaufs.
Question: Would I benefit from using this or the leather conditioner on a NEW motorcycle vest? I don't plan on riding in the rain

The Obenauf's is a leather preservative and it's purpose is to protect the leather from various environmental elements that can damage the leather. The Only Natural Industrial Strength Leather Protection

Heavy Duty LP provides a natural barrier against destructive substances and reinforces leather fibers against scuffing. Due to the Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula, a little goes a long way. It waterproofs naturally, while still allowing the leather to breathe. With regular application, people are getting years of wear out of their leather boots!

Leather Care, Conditioning, and Reproofing

Not just for boots, Obenauf’s leather preservative (lp), is widely used to condition leather saddle bags, chaps, tack, holsters, sheathes, baseball gloves, as well as motorcycle and auto leather. More than a leather conditioner, use Heavy Duty LP as a wax waterproofing. Apply with a low heat blow dryer to reproof your cotton oilskin dusters and hats. The natural ingredients of LP can also be applied to protect unfinished, natural wood furniture.

Originally Developed for Firefighters 30 Years Ago

An Idaho Wildland Firefighter developed this unique Beeswax/Propolis Suspension Formula to protect leather against caustic fire retardant chemicals, ash, heat, water, and abrasion. Natural oils are gradually released into the fibers as a long-term lubrication. Heat or continued flexing causes oils to be released faster. Leather gets oiled when and where it needs it most; while on the job!

Recommended Application

At room temperature, apply by hand as body temperature helps melt LP into leather. Two applications last longer in wet conditions. For absorption, allow ten minutes or up to one hour between treatments. On smooth leather, buff off excess with a clean cloth. On nubuck, use a soft bristled brush. One ounce should provide one application to a pair of tall boots. Apply every 6 to 8 weeks or as needed.

HANDI KLIP Glove Clips, Fire Red

Glove Guard LP

Based on 5 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Keeping up with gloves when they are not in use is the issue. How do you keep your gloves with you so that you have them when you need them? The Handi Klip brand clip provides a solution to this problem. The Handi Klip uses a ball and socket joint that allows both ends to rotate freely and features oversized jaws to fit even the largest gloves. As it has a higher breaking point than the Glove Guard brand clip and no center strap, the Handi Klip is useful in environments where a breakaway is not as important or debris is hazardous, such as airport runways or when working at heights. Designed primarily for the firefighting industry, the Handi Klip holds up to the brief flash temperatures of a fire without coming apart or melting. To use, simply clip the small end around your belt loop or directly to your clothing and clip the large end to your gloves. Using glove clips has been proven to drastically reduce hand injuries because workers have their gloves with them when needed. If personal protective equipment is available, it is more likely to be used. With the use of Glove Guard brand products, glove replacement costs and the costs associated with environmental clean-up are decreased, and the safety breakaway also reduces the risk of injury. The Handi Klip can be used in many ways. Keep up with your gloves while gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing and more. The Handi Klip is a great way to keep up with your kids' winter gloves and hats!   Use it while camping to hang things from tents, trees, or wherever you can clip it to. Use the Handi Klip clips while working in the garden or to store your gloves and towels in the shed. Many gardeners in the south have found the Handi Klip useful in helping to cover plants in preparations for a freeze. They also make great clips for chip bags.

  • Reduce glove replacement costs by having your gloves with you when you need them
  • Using glove clips has been proven to significantly reduce hand injuries
  • Safety breakaway with 20 pound breaking point is strong enough to withstand everyday snags while still releasing when it counts
  • Simply clip the small end around your belt loop or directly to your clothing and clip the large end to your gloves
  • Works well for keeping up with towels, ear muffs and more

User questions & answers

Question: Are these machine washable like the garden gloves
Answer: No. These are woven synthetic material. If they are do not dry in dryer. It is better to wash out and hung to dry. Do not wring. It will shorten the life of the gloves. Plus, the nitrile coating will break down.
Question: How come the price of these gloves have gone up so much. The last time i only spent 9.98 for these gloves
Answer: You might have but you didn't get 25 pair for 9. 95 I guarantee that. The better deal is usually Home Depot around Thanksgiving Christmas time has a big box of these you can buy. It's 18 gloves for 19. 99
Question: Can I use this gloves for concrete work
Answer: Yes. These are great for using with trowel and floats and shovels etc. Please remember that the backs are open which let's sweat out, but also means you probably should not immerse hands entirely into wet concrete.
Question: How one can know if one is large or x-large? why there is no Size chart for palm measurements
Answer: The size large Grease Monkey Gorilla Grip gloves have an approximate measurement of eight inches from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger.

User questions & answers

Question: Has anyone used this on sheepskin leather garments? The manufacturer says to use only lanolin products on it
Answer: I wouldn't try it....if you elect to, use it in a discrete place.....I used it for leather and would purchase it again....good luck!!!
Question: I have a new Black leather jacket , but dried for keep long time , then this product is going to get the texture like a new
Answer: I had a leather jacket that was 11 years old and had gotten pretty dried out. I had to put a bottle and a half of this stuff on it, but now the jacket is like new and I wear it every chance I get. We live in Colorado, so things drying out is a way of life here, but this stuff really did the trick. I also had an old pair of work boots down at the ranch and they were pretty dried up, but I got this stuff to restore them to working order. They don't look that great due to wear and tear, but they are soft again.
Question: What's the difference between obenauf's leather oil vs their heavy duty lp (leather preserver)? i'm interested in a product for footwear
Answer: From the Obernauf's website:Use Heavy Duty LP for the strongest level of protection for work boots, horse & tack, belts, and baseball gloves, or any leather subjected to severe elements.Leather Oil is ideal for furniture, "breaking-in" new boots and for quick touch-ups between applications of Heavy Duty LP, dry weather and moderate conditions.
Question: Is Obenauft's oil safe for couches
Answer: Leather Oil can be used on leather furniture as long as you don't mind the darkening effect. It will hydrate and keep the leather supple. Some considerations: test in a hidden sport first to see if you like the results; & several light coats are better than one thick coat when applying to avoid saturation. One coat is usually all that is needed but if it still seems dry, try another coat after giving the first coat a few hours to soak in. Buff with a clean cloth after final application to remove excess oil. You can see actual photos of before and after Leather Oil applications to leather furniture at our Instagram account, obenaufs_lp.

Rub Some Life Into Your Investment!

The oils in leather dissipate every day, especially inside a hot automobile. Use Obenauf’s Oil on leather car seats to keep them from scuffing easily and cracking prematurely. One coat of our leather preserving oil is often all you need. Buffing with a clean cloth after application removes excess oils and leaves a pleasant shine. Leather Oil will also improve the look of sun-bleached leather in cars, trucks, SUV’s, motorcycles, boats, RV’s and more. Do not apply to vinyl or other auto interiors other than leather.

Leather Preservative For Hot, Dry, Dusty Climates

Leather Oil is the best treatment for moderately wet and dry conditions. Often called the “Dry Season Oil”, it absorbs fast, conditioning your leather against dehydration and cracking. It is so effective, that one coat is all that’s needed for the thinner leather on riding boots, furniture, and gloves. Use leather oil for preserving saddles and tack during the long summer months.

Let It Breathe

Leather is a skin with pores that need to breathe. Like our skin, leather requires cleaning and moisturizing. Natural oils are best to keep fibers flexible and water resistant while allowing pores to breathe. Obenauf’s uses natural plant oil & beeswax which will allow your leather to breathe. The key to preserving and protecting your leather is to keep it natural.

User questions & answers

Question: How are they compared to Atlas gloves
Answer: Just as good, if not better! Nicely priced gloves that last about 2 weeks before enough of the latex comes off so as not to have that supreme grip that I need for my job. The pack of gloves that I have will last for more than 3 months before I order them again. Great fit, long lasting and comfortable.
Question: Are these suitable for working in concrete
Answer: yes.. I was just mortaring some block today.. they are great.. they can be rinsed clean if needed.. the crete doesn't stick to the latex if you rinse in time.. great gloves for the price
Question: How do they do with splinters from handling wood
Answer: Honestly, great! Of all the dozens of kinds of gloves I have bought, these are my favorite! I use them with wood all the time and not one splinter. It is a nice thick coating to protect your hands. I love these gloves!
Question: Are these gloves heat resistant
Answer: I don't think so. The gloves seem that they are more of just a wet/dirt barrier. I would definitely think twice if using these near any heat source.

The workplace can create many hazards for your hands, whether from chemicals, cuts or burns. No single glove can provide appropriate protection for every work situation, so it is important to assess the risk for each task and select a glove that provides specialized protection.

The following is a list of gloves and their appropriate application, according to the National Safety Council:

  • Cotton and fabric gloves: These can keep hands clean and protect against abrasions, but may not be strong enough to handle work with rough or sharp materials.
  • Coated fabric gloves: This type of glove can provide protection against some moderate concentrated chemicals. They can be used in laboratory work provided they are strong enough to protect against the specific chemical being handled.
  • Rubber, plastic or synthetic gloves: These types of glove can be used when cleaning or working with oils, solvents and other chemicals.
  • Leather gloves: These should be used when welding, as the leather can resist sparks and moderate heat. The risk of cuts and abrasions also can be minimized by wearing leather gloves.
  • Aluminized gloves: These gloves are recommended for welding, furnace and foundry work, as they provide reflective and insulating protection.
  • Kevlar gloves: These have a wide variety of industrial applications. They are cut- and abrasion-resistant and provide protection against both heat and cold.
  • Chemical/liquid-resistant gloves: Several types of gloves help protect against specific chemicals:
    • Butyl rubber gloves: nitric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and peroxide
    • Natural latex/rubber gloves: water solutions or acids, alkalis, salts, and ketones
    • Neoprene gloves: hydraulic fluids, gasoline, alcohols and organic acids
    • Nitrile rubber gloves: chlorinated solvents
