Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Moroccan Tagine, 2.5 qt., Cerise

Le Creuset

Based on 375 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Inspired by the slowly simmered, heavily seasoned cuisines indigenous to North Africa, this 2-quart Moroccan Tagine by Le Creuset is a classic example of form following function. Its distinctive cone-shaped lid promotes natural steam circulation and allows for the constant return of condensation to the base, moistening ingredients and tenderizing tough fibers within cuts of meat. And because it's crafted from durable cast iron, the Moroccan Tagine retains heat longer and cooks food more evenly and thoroughly. Traditional Moroccan tagines (the dish is named for the cookware) typically include a combination of braised meat (often lamb, beef or chicken), fruits, root vegetables, nuts, and fragrant spices like cinnamon, saffron, and ginger. Measuring 12-4/5 by 12-4/5 by 11-2/5 inches, the Moroccan Tagine makes a thoughtful gift idea or a unique addition to any cook's collection.

As part of Le Creuset's line of enameled cast iron, the cookware's low-profile, high-heat, cast-iron base distributes heat evenly and provides superior heat retention--great for stovetop cooking, as well as for browning vegetables or meat before steaming. The Moroccan Tagine's colorful stoneware lid forms an excellent seal to keep moisture and heat inside, while its conical shape also helps moisture circulate throughout so there's no need to open, stir, or turn the tagine, making food preparation a snap. The cookware can be used on any stovetop surface, including induction, and be safely used in the oven (up to 500 degrees F) or under the grill/broiler for exceptional versatility. Beautiful enough for the table yet durable enough to outlive its lifetime limited warranty, the cookware should be hand washed for best results.

  • 2-quart Moroccan Tagine made of enameled cast iron and colorful stoneware
  • Cone-shaped lid forms an excellent seal to keep moisture and heat inside
  • Generous rim allows for a secure grip during transport
  • Hand washing recommended; oven- and broiler-safe up to 500 degrees F
  • Measures 12-4/5 by 12-4/5 by 11-2/5 inches; limited lifetime warranty

Question: Can this tagine be used on a glass-ceramic cooktop
Answer: Yo lo compre, los dialogos son en ingles subtitulado al español , el menú y las demás opciones son en español
Question: is the bottom of this tagine flat? i'm looking for something that will work on a glass cooktop, so it can't have a lip/ridge
Answer: Yes, this game is in English.
Question: Is this item made from nickel or from plastic (product name vs. description
Answer: I know that on the PC version you can upload original music. I am not sure if that works on the PS4 version, however. If you want to upload original music with certainty, I'd recommend getting this for PC.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this a new Le Creuset brand screwpull? The pictures shows Le Creuset, but nowhere in the item title or description does it say its official
Answer: It has a Micro-USB connection for that purpose however, it's been noted in the listing as well as observed for myself that the USB Power necessity is depedent on the monitor and will vary from system to system. In other words, some monitors will need it, others won't. **But to clarify, new PC to old monitor no hdmi; yes, it will work assuming: 1) When you say no hdmi, you mean it has no hdmi but has VGA? What port do you plan to use to connect to your PC, or rather, you've shared with us what it doesn't have, but would prove more useful to answer your quest if you would share what ports it does have? In any case, it must be VGA to be used with this particular adapter. 2) Other connections will not work without another adapter and possibly the USB power. The USB power is more so to help strengthen the signal that a device is present, most of the time, you won't need it. But, Let's just say for example: A monitor that has DVI and you have VGA to DVI converter or something, then there's one scenario where this wont work. without the USB power, and it would be necessary or the computer won't see that a monitor is connected. For example if both ends need a converter, the USB power will help ensure detection the device is connected. ~TLDR~ If your monitor has a VGA port and your PC with it's hdmi output, this will work. Probably won't need the USB power secondly, but it does make detection must quicker. I've noticed it makes no difference in the monitors I've used it with (total worked on 3 with USB initially and then tested by way of mid-use removal, nothing happened and continued working) . -If you have only Display Port from your new PC, this will not work (unless you get a DisplayPort to HDMI converter)
Question: are the handles, lever, gears, and body all made of metal
Answer: This device is designed to have the SOURCE of sending the signal to be HDMI (e.g. amazon firestick, Roku, PC output, etc) and the receiver (tv) to be VGA. It appears that You might need a VGA to HDMI converter
Question: Is this a shiny white or a matte white
Answer: If your projector is equipped with a VGA port, I would say Yes. Connect the HDMI end of this product to your Playstation 4 and then link it to the projector via a VGA cable. (Your own VGA cable, this product does not contain a VGA cable) Please also get the power cable connected to ensure a stable signal transfer.
Question: Hello! Is the 9 qt dutch oven 6.8" tall with or without the lid? Thank you for checking for me
Answer: Shadow of War can only be played by one person at a time.
Question: Can you use in directly on campfire coals
Answer: Because a company needs to make money to stay afloat. You do not HAVE to buy the items to play the game so it should not matter really. If somebody wants a specific item they are selling, let them have it.
Question: Can I use this to cook on a regular gas stovetop before placing it in the oven
Answer: According to the developers the file size will be approximately 60 GBs

User questions & answers

Question: Is this actually made by Screwpull or is it a Le Creuset
Answer: The problem is most likely that your PS4 is output in one resolution, and the projector can only receive a different resolution. I would attack this problem in steps. First, test each hardware separately with different in/outputs. It sounds like you already did this with the projector, because it works with your directv (I am assuming you are using the adapter with the Directv). If this is true, you have ruled out the projector and adapter. Next, test the PS4 with another display/TV. If it works, then note the resolution settings (1080p vs 1080i vs 720p etc.). Does the projector support the resolution the PS4 is set to? If not, manually set the PS4 to the projectors resolution, and try reconnecting to the projector. Hope this helps.

It's perfect for use on any heat source--gas, electric, radiant, ceramic, halogen, induction, or solid fuel. There's also a tight-fitting, enameled cast-iron lid that helps seal in heat and flavor. Food will be kept hot as you bring it to the table for serving. And you will certainly want to serve out of this beautiful piece--the deep color and shiny finish will brighten any table setting. --Jane DePaolo

User questions & answers

Question: Does it say "France" under the lid of this 5.5 qt. french oven
Answer: yep
Question: What is the bottom width
Answer: I have the 5 1/2 qt. pot. The bottom width is 8 inches. I love this size and enjoy cooking in it. It has been a great investment for me.
Question: Is the inside glaze of the cookware lead and cadmium free
Answer: This question interested me.Here is the answer I found on Le Creuset's Canadian website:"Is Le Creuset lead and cadmium free?Cadmium and lead are two elements under strict control in the cookware industry. Our position today for the entire production process is to be in compliance with California Proposal 65 which is the most rigid standard in the world for these elements (approx. 10 times lower than "acceptable" limits). Lead is NOT used in our recipes and for cadmium a special anti-acid enamel fritt is used which will not release the cadmium pigment during cooking. Cadmium is used for coloration purposes in achieving bright exterior colours such as Flame and Cherry. The interior enamel which makes contact with food is either sand, white, or black."
Question: I was in Williams Sonoma last week and discovered some of LC is made in China. Why isn't this information clearly stated on Amazon
Answer: I’m not an expert on this and I don’t know for sure but a few years ago I was in the lecruset outlet store and all the products were made in China. My older pots have an embossed made in France on bottom of pan. So if it says that it’s still made in France. I’ve heard of and I’m not sure if this is the case with lecruset but sometimes companies have less expensive products at the outlets where I saw everything made in China.

Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron Round Dutch Ovens

The iconic Le Creuset Dutch oven is indispensable in the kitchens of home cooks and professional chefs alike. Long recognized for its strength and durability, cast iron is the prime material for slow-cooking, braising and roasting, thanks to its ability to maintain even and consistent heat. The enameled Dutch oven needs no seasoning, and it’s suitable for both stove-top and oven use.

Cooking with cast iron

Enameled cast iron is a remarkable and robust material that performs well with modern requirements for food preparation and cooking. Whether you choose to stir-fry, slow-cook a casserole, sear a steak or bake a cake, there is a shape that is suitable. Cast iron performs well for either slow cooking or high-temperature searing.

Cast iron can be used reliably on any heat source, including induction, and with any oven or grill. It has the ability to retain heat efficiently, which allows for use of lower heat settings in stove-top and oven cooking. On the table, a hot covered dish will keep food hot for second servings.

Cast iron can also be used to keep foods cold. A chilled dish becomes an ideal cold food server on a hot summer day. It can also be placed in the freezer for food storage or advanced food preparation.

Heat recommendations

Le Creuset cast iron cookware can be used on all heat sources including gas, electric solid plate or radiant ring, vitro-ceramic glass, induction, and ovens fired by gas, oil, coal or wood. When using any glass-topped stove, always lift the pan when moving it; never slide it, as this may damage the stove-top or the base of the pan.

Always match the pan’s base size to the stove-top heat zone to maximize efficiency, and to prevent overheating of the pan sides or damage to the handles.

Gas flames must always be confined to the base area, and must never extend around the sidewalls of the pan. Long handles should be positioned safely where they do not hang over the front of the stove or other heat zones.

Cleaning and Care

Always cool a hot pan for a few minutes before washing.

Do not plunge a hot pan into cold water. While Le Creuset’s enamel is designed to be the most durable on the market, thermal shock may still occur, resulting in cracking or loss of enamel.

If there are food residues, fill the pan with warm water and let soak for 15 to 20 minutes before washing. A brush can be useful for removing small food deposits, or for cleaning between the ribs on grills. Do not use scourers or abrasive cleaners on the cooking surface. Nylon or soft abrasive pads or brushes can be used to remove stubborn residues.

To avoid damaging the enamel, do not use metallic pads or harsh abrasive cleaning agents.

Light stains or metal marks caused by metal tools can be removed with Le Creuset cookware cleaner. An occasional cleaning with this product will also retain the new appearance of your pans.

Never store pans while they are still damp. Store pans in a dry cupboard or airy space away from steam.
