Answer:	Not sure, the mesh is puros and did not work for Seachem’s Purigen which needed about 180 microns.

Question:	yesterday i cleaned out my filter and i put it back on but it wont suck in water from the pipe there is no pressure even after i pump it. why
Answer:	I came home and my filter was not running. I have had this for a month and it was running great. I cleaned out the filter, etc. and cannot get it to prime. I feel like I have tried everything! I filled the canister with water and it will not prime. When using the prime button, the water goes up to a certain point but does not prime.. Help!

Answer:	What the others said. Personally I would get the largest you can afford. More filtration is never a bad thing. The 1200 and 1500 use the same filter pads.
Question:	Will filter work for a 100 gallon tank for my red ear slider turtle
Answer:	Yes. I use this for my CST in a 55 gallon tank. This is a great filter. Remember, it is more about the media you use than the filter alone. Experiment with media to see what works best for you. For my turtle, I have found that layering sponges in the bottom tray from coarse, medium to fine and then using Matrix bio media in the next 2 trays and then using carbon and an ammonia neutralizing carbon in the last two trays works wonders. It really keeps my turtle tank clean. This filter is easy to use, prime and clean. Plus it is very affordable. All canister filters are basically equal, the media is what really matters.
Question:	Will this include an installation manual and all the tubings? I am new to canister filters and I want to know as much as possible before purchasing
Answer:	Yes, though you would do well to check out some YouTube videos demonstrating the setup, as well as the steps to take to disconnect the unit from the tubes for cleaning. The manual that comes with the filter is a great start, but a little unclear at times.

Answer:	I wouldn't . This is meant to remove floating particles only. It doesn't purify or really "clean" water.

Answer:	It's like quilt batting. About one inch thick. It can be flattened down easily. I use it on top of under gravel filter as extra bio layer and it works great. The gravel flattens it.

Answer:	I would compare this material to a non-abrasive kitchen scrubber, but not as dense. I tested it for you on an old piece of scratched-up acrylic by rubbing it back and forth in one direction and it didn't appear to make any new scratches. It seems like it should work fine for your purpose....but to be absolutely positively sure you might want to test it yourself on an inconspicuous area or use something softer and smoother.

Question:	Is it really loud? I already had to get rid of one filter brand because it was so noisy
Answer:	As long as you maintain your filter properly, the filter remains reasonably quiet. You do not need to change the impeller as often as one person commented. I have multiple AC 110’s for years and never had to replace the impeller at all. I have been using AquaClear filters for many years. When you maintain your filter, rinse the impeller off. Do not use anything abrasive or it will compromise its proper function by throwing it off balance as it spins during operation.
Question:	Will the 110 fit on over the 1-1/4" tank edge of my 70 gal tank
Answer:	13 1/2"L X 6 3/4"W X 9"H with 4" of its width behind the tank.
Question:	do you need to replace the filter media in time, and if so, how expensive is the whole kit
Answer:	Doesn't anybody read instructions? Change carbon filter after 1 month, change sponge after 2 months, change biofilter (little ceramic donuts) after 3 months. Never change more than one filter at a time which is impossible if you read their system - so at least 2 out of 3 times a month you'd be changing 2 filters. Charcoal filters should be changed monthly - they should also be removed if you are adding medication to the tank or it will soak up/deactivate medications. Personally I think you clean the sponge very well as needed - NO soap- just clean water, same with the donuts. Perhaps having you change so many filters so often is quite the moneymaking deal but not good for fish.
Question:	Would the 110 be overkill for a 36 gal goldfish tank? Would the 100 work just as well
Answer:	I run (2) 110's on a 90 gallon tank of exotic goldfish. That means I'm running 1000 gallons an hour through the filters on high. I've raised exotic goldfish for 50 years - goldfish are the DIRTIEST fish there are. They produce more ammonia than any other fish. These filters work great. I have some mini's - now called the 20's - which I have had for 35 + years, and they still run as well as the day I bought them. I ONLY USE AquaClear. Best filter out there! They last forever because there are no moving parts to break. There is only a magnetic impeller. In 50 years, I've only had to replace one intake tube that broke, and it was my fault! I tried a canister filter once, and quickly went back to my Hagen AquaClears. Easier to use, and as big as they are, you can use any kind of media in them that you want to use. You cannot go overkill on filtration for goldfish.

Answer:	Seachem Matrix has different sizes of pumice rocks in each bottle but the rocks are typically large enough to work perfectly in our MaxFlow bags. We also have many hobbyists who use our HighFlow mesh media bag for matrix with great results too. Answer:	Hi John - We've never tried in the aquarium you mention. Like we state in the first bullet point on the Amazon product page it's really best you measure the filter box area on your tank and if you have a space at least 3.5" Wide x 3.5" Deep then our skimmer should fit as long as your tank doesn't have a hinged canopy since the skimmer will sit above the tank frame and the canopy wouldn't be able to close. Answer:	I have 4 inches from the back of my Aquarium and the wall. There is 1 inch between the back of the Filter and the wall.
Question:	how do to maintence on 350 marine penguin power filter
Answer:	Generally good answers...these blue pads clog quickly, I like to rinse all my filters, but these really "hold" the detritus. OF course I would normally rinse filter pads in a bucket of old aquarium water DURING the water change. But tapwater is usually fine too . So, get the reusable frames they sell for 2 or 3 dollars. At least the blue pads are cheap on amazon and WM for a 6 pack.

Question:	I have a 60 gallon fresh. Should i use two smalls or two large filters
Answer:	I don't use this for my Betta tanks (I have 7 Betta only tanks) only my 50 gallon cichlids tank because bettas are such hardy fish they can survive in most conditions. For my Betta tanks I use tap water and the aquasafe (a dechlorinator) and they're happy as can be. But the test strips are very easy to read. just go online to look at the general parameters they should be in before you do the test. If you do purchase these read the instructions some of the strips you have to read right away and some you have to wait a few minutes.
Question:	What's the expected life of this product? Is there a replacement sponge available
Answer:	Yes. 4 of the 5 tests work for saltwater also. Only the GH (general hardness) does not work for saltwater.
Question:	How the filter add oxygen level without air circulation? I guess water out hose must be above water surface, correct
Answer:	I found them easy to read and liked that the chart is printed on the container that holds the strips so it's readily available. When I first got my kit, I read the instructions and using a felt tipped pen, circled the values that my tank should be at for each test, so when I performed a test I could check it immediately instead of referring back to the instructions each time.
Question:	Is the amount of biochemical ceramic balls used once
Answer:	Just remember that most of these test kits or strips for aquarium use report their results as "nitrate ion" or "nitrite ion", while the EPA standard for drinking water is expressed as "nitrate as nitrogen" or "nitrite as nitrogen". Thus, your aquarium test kit or strip will report a value considerably higher than what it "should" for comparison with a lab test or the EPA standards. This causes a lot of people to needlessly worry.

Question:	I have a small 5 gallon tank. Can this filter fit on that size tank
Answer:	I don't know about it dimensionally but this is really made for a 10-20 gallon tank. The force of the water flow might be too great for a tank that small. You need to buy a filter sized for your tank and I've never looked for a 5 gallon filter before. I just googled it and got some results but I don't want to suggest something I haven't tried.
Question:	Can anyone tell me how tall this filter is from the very top edge of the tank to the top of the filter, I have very little clearance and need to know this info
Answer:	The filter is 2-1/8 inches from the rim of the tank to the top of the lid. However, you will need a good six or seven inches above the tank to remove it for cleaning if the filter is left whole when you remove it. You could disassemble the pump from the filter while it is still in the tank and get away with just over four inches of clearance and remove just the tank portion of the filter for cleaning. For this kind of clearance problem a small remote canister filter might be a better choice.
Question:	This looks like the filter I just got on a 10 gl tank, no info on filter, just "Aqueon" has a filter cartridge, I measured 4 x 4.5 what is size
Answer:	The filter is 4.5" wide, and 4.25" high.
Question:	Do I need a bubble disk for oxygen or extra aeration, or will this filter suffice
Answer:	My experience says you should always use a bubbler in addition to your filter! I add a bubbler for extra breaking of the surface tension and gas release from the aquarium (which helps saturate more oxygen in the water). I've run these Aqueon filters without a bubbler, but the fish seem to be more lethargic with the filter alone. The bubbler is cheap insurance. I am currently running nine tanks ranging from 10 gallons to 180 gallons and have put a bubbler in all of them. On most of the tanks the bubbler is on a battery backup. If a power failure takes down your filter, a bubbler alone can keep a healthy tank alive for days.

Answer:	Thanks for your question. This filter is designed for 20 gallon tanks and would be too small for your 60 gallon. We also make larger sizes of this filter to accomodate bigger tanks. The best way to decide which filter will work for your tank is to measure the width and depth of your aquarium and compare it to the assembled width and depth of the undergravel filter.
Question:	Can i use this underground filter with no gravel? lol
Answer:	I have 4 tanks going in my home they all have under gravel filters. each tank has gravel. I never heard of anyone not using gravel. The filters will float to the top, because the gravel holds them in place.
Question:	So just to make it clear, should colored fish gravel be put on top of the filter or not? And if not, what would you use
Answer:	I used colored gravel just fine, just make sure to use water treatment stuff as well to prevent it from being cloudy.

Answer:	Yes, there is an instruction manual in the package. The RUN button and the +/- buttons are for skimming use. The WAVE and FEED button are useless.

Answer:	I had too watch a lot of YouTube videos.. You want to have the bubbles come up to the bottom of the collection cup.. Ensure you control the output by rotating the blue handle. Also ensure that you you have the water level correct. I have mines set in 7 inches of water. Once I got all those parameters set, it has been working like it should. You will have to keep adjusting it until you get it.
Question:	For replacement media, does anyone know the model number of this filter? Want to ensure the availability of replacement foam for this filter. Thanks
Answer:	Full load operation would meet the needs if there is not much biology in the tank.

2. Leaking: Please make sure all pieces are assembled correct, adjust the o-seal ring on the top lid and put the filter lower than your tank, and make sure water can get through the green hoses soomthly.
3. Loud noise from the motor: You may need to check the impeller on the top lid if there is anything in it, and clean it. And then try it again.
4. Not pump water: Press the blue button on the top lid to compel the extra air out of the canister. And try it again.
5. The flow is slow: Add enough water into the tank, and adjust the cotton and medias.

Question:	After a time I found thousands of tiny insects in the bag - what are these? Under a microscope look like termites, but what eats polyester
Answer:	I would guess booklice. Look up an image of them and see if that matches your culprits. They eat fibers, like paper fibers, etc. hence the name booklice...people often find them eating books. Food grade diatomaceous earth is a great way to rid of the pests, they need humidity to survive...DE dries them out. If they are only in your filter media I would just move that into a sealed container somewhere with little humidity. Sealed container so they dont spread to other fibers in your home.

Answer:	Get a smaller size. This bag is packed with a lot
Question:	what is the difference between this and regular craft polyfill
Answer:	The craft stuffing usually has a flame resistant chemical added
Question:	Is this product good for slowing down my filters flow
Answer:	I bolted down some plastic pieces onto the outside my filter to slow down the flow. I used storage food covers. This won't work to slow down the filter since it's on the inside of the filter. Still, it works amazing at filtering sludge and crap in the water, and you can't beat the price, it's way cheaper than filter cartridges.
