Answer:	Hopefully, this might help you. You are correct, cross bar is part of the frame that the top is attached to. I have no idea what the c-clamp you are referring to looks like. What I can tell you is that the cross bar is located 2.5" from the edge of the top. I presume the manufacturer placed the cross bar away from the edge so clamps could be mounted but not sure if the clamp you are referring to would fit on the 2.5"? As a side note, I really like my desk. Has tons of room on the top and is very sturdy! Good luck!

Answer:	I'm not sure which product "tanyah" is referring to, but YES, the "Smart Temp Digital Kettle" does beep. It's not extremely loud, but I can hear it across the house.

Answer:	Stainless steel inside. It doesn't specify the type. Most likely 304.

Answer:	YES it does. All these other answers are incorrect. You can activate the keep warm function by long pressing the Temp button after you start heating the water. You can verify this in the manual.
Question:	Does anyone know what the spots on the bottom of the kettle are? They look like fungus, but we just got this kettle three days ago
Answer:	Could be mineral deposits, especially if used heavily. Fill with vinegar water mixture and bring to boil. Pour out and rinse well with fresh cold water. That should take care of any fungus (unlikely if you were just heating water) as well as minor calcium or other mineral buildup. I usually heat and pour out one pot after each cleaning to make sure all the vinegar is gone. We also have high mineral content in our water due to lots of limestone locally. I have found that pouring out the last bit of water each time, rather than leaving it in the and just adding more, seems to reduce the frequency needed for cleaning with vinegar.

Question:	Does anyone else experience issues with the lid not closing properly and the water just keeps boiling? 2nd kettle and having the exact same problem
Answer:	I just bought this and was looking forward to it, but I, too, am having this issue. The lid is closed securely and water above the fill line, but the kettle won't automatically shut off. Really disappointed and clearly the manufacturer and seller are aware of this defect.
Question:	Those who purchased a 2nd kettle because the lid wouldn't seal properly when boil.Did the 2nd one solve the problem or is this a manufacturing defect
Answer:	My kettle's auto-off feature stops working after about three weeks or so. So I took a closer look today and found that the root cause is the lid. It does not seal properly. if I push the lid when the water is boiling, the auto-off feature works!

Question:	inside the bottom of the thing, why is there a plastic seal ring between the glass and the steel
Answer:	The silicon ring at the base of this and all similar electric glass/steel electric kettles is absolutely required from an engineering standpoint. Glass and steel have very different coefficients of expansion. Without the silicon ring at the base of the kettle to accommodate the differences in glass and steel expansion, the kettle would leak.
Question:	Is this "Swiss quality" appliance made in China, by any chance
Answer:	Folks, get over your angst about buying Chinese made products. The simple truth is that all tea kettles, except, stove top, are made in China. Perhaps one day we will see production come back but do not fault the company for moving production to China. If you cancel everything made in China you will have no appliances to operate your lifestyle. This is a great product so order and enjoy.
