Answer:	I don't know as I do not live in high altitude area. This pot has four level of water temperate control so you can set the temperate to 208F or lower after the water is boiling. You can find out in the web the water boiling point at different altitude. I believe 208F is below the boiling point in most of the high altitude area. If not, set the temperate to a level lower.

Answer:	Yes, you can pour hot water in the pot and set the temperature at 190 degree. If the water is hotter than 190 degree, it will take some time to cool off the water, but the water will be at 190 degree after a while.

Answer:	Hi Jac, the water drains not as quick as our standard disposers as this model has a quiet collar baffle. It’s a sound feature that is specially engineered to use running water to pool on top of the sink opening as another way to reduce the noise of the disposer. It should not drain slowly if the quiet collar is inserted correctly.

Since disposals seem to wear out sooner than we would like, the existing one may not be very old and should be okay to use with your new disposal. The connector has multiple sizing meant to allow it to fit a variety of drain lines coming from the dishwasher. The existing drain hose may not be able to connect to the new disposal. I believe it would be cheaper to order these and have them available rather than pay the plumber for the same parts. Normally you can return unopened items to Amazon Prime if the plumber doesn't need the connector or cord.

Answer:	Yes, The water stays at one of the three temperatures it has been set.I leave mine on 24/7.

Answer:	Made in Japan. This looks like a new model. The QuikTemp feature is new. It now does not boil the water (212 degrees) every time you add water or unplug it by accident. If you have it set to 195, like I do, it only heats the water to that temperature. Thus not wasting power and time.. I had two of the CV-DSC40 VE models, both of which developed rusting issues up top under the lid. An very expensive disposable appliance. They too were made in Japan so... I am hoping this model does not rust out like the other two did. I have read almost every review of these things and it seems that Zojirushi CS is essentially useless. I just threw the others out after reading many people here say that calling them was almost pointless...But they really are great when they work or are rust free, if you drink a lot of tea or make those Japanese big boy Udon cup (bowl) of noodles. Just a bit pricy...

Answer:	All Zojirushi products are BPA-free. The inner container of the water boiler is stainless steel with nonstick coating, the inner lid is stainless steel, and both are BPA-free. Some gaskets and the outer lid that may come into contact with water are silicone or plastic, and also do not contain BPA.
Question:	Does it use a lot of power? Have you noticed a change in your electric bill after using this
Answer:	You most likely won't notice it, but those who want the detail then continue to read. Based on the manual the keep warm mode takes from 11W-20W per hour for the 4L version depending on the keep warm temperature. The 5L version takes about 14W-26W per hour depending on keep warm temperature. When the unit is boiling / reboiling it consumes 840W per hour, however it takes about 35-40 minutes to boil the water from room temperature to full boil. For example: We have the 4L version and we fill it once a day and set it at 175 degrees and allow it to go to a full boil. The approximate power usage is (12W * 24 hours + 840W * 0.58 hours) = ~780W for the entire day (i.e. less than 1KW per day or approximately 24KW for the month). For us 1KW is about 12 cents, so it cost less than $3 per month for us to operate.

Automatic Shut-Off Function:

A safety function that automatically shuts off power to the heater in order to prevent damage from overheating. The display will show 'HH' to alert that Automatic Shut-Off has been activated. The following conditions may cause activation:

-Unit was plugged in without filling with water.

-Water level is lower than the REFILL line and boiling was attempted.

-Unit is empty or the upper lid is left open.

-Hot water was poured in immediately after unit was plugged in.
