Answer:	I am looking for a new machine, ours just burned out on us Friday night - after it did its chore for us and the grand kids (7 and 9). We have always used about 1/4 cup of oil (redenbacker popcorn oil if we can find it - or - Veggie oil mixed with some butter). About 1/2 cup of Redenbacker or another cauliflower (premium carnival and movie theater popping corn) popcorn. We DO NOT use the butter cap on the top of the vent. Let it vent out the moisture and stuff. Don't clog up those vent holes with butter. We use the microwave to melt and pour on additional butter. I have never - since I first started using this popper in the 80's -- never had soggy or moist popcorn. I was in the service - my job entailed working in a room with no windows and 13 or 15 of us at a time. We popped using this tool for 1/2 of my 20 years. Thru 2 wars/actions - and a couple times per 12 hour shift. Fast and easy and easy clean up. Since the 80's ... this is my second machine - getting ready for my third. DON'T use the cap on it and don't use the butter melting suggestions - the popcorn will be done before the butter is melted.

Answer:	It makes excellent hash browns. I use mine almost daily for making them. I peel the Potatoes, I usually have larger ones that will go in the machine without cutting in half longways. Shred them, Rinse really well to get the starch off them and I then put them in a bowl covered with water and pre cook for about 3-4 mins in the microwave, Dump the pre cooked hash browns on the strainer, pre-heat my cast iron skillet with some butter dump them in and cook to the desired doneness.

Question:	How many watts has to be your microwave
Answer:	I wish I read this review before I purchased this popper! I put just one lid full of brand new popcorn (It was Black Jewel and doesn't expire till 2022) in and about two TSP of butter in the silicone lid. It started popping immediately but luckily I was standing by the microwave watching it when the microwave sparked. I stopped it, pulled out the popper and inspected it. I noticed that the square cardboard (waveguide cover) had a small burnt spot on it. Thinking that the microwave was suddenly going bad, I put a cup of water in the microwave to see if the problem would duplicate, but it was fine! So I restarted it again with the popper and within about 10 seconds it was sparking like mad and I thought I saw a flame. I immediately stopped it again and now the waveguide cover has a huge burnt spot on it. I have no idea why this is happening but the popper will have to be returned.

Question:	Are the Q&A and reviews here about this product? Lots of them mention oils
Answer:	Yes there are a few left over kernels with a 1/4 cup. It will take a few test runs with your microwave to figure out the right amount of time to cook for. I have found if you microwave the bowl for a minute, then put the kernels in and microwave again, you get a better result (less unpopped kernels. Finally, I would never have guessed this, but different brands of kernels yield different results. I was buying trader joe's and sprouts kernels and was happy but then tried pop secret jumbo kernels and was blown away. Jumbo Kernels had 2 or 3 unpopped kernels vs 10 to 12 and were fluffier.

Answer:	Does our popcorn popper turn white when pinched, yes? Is our silicone food-grade silicone, absolutely? Does the "pinch-test" prove anything, no? We have received silicone samples that did not turn white when pinched and were in no way safe to use in the microwave. They claimed to be 100% silicone but were probably more rubber than anything else. We rely on something a little more scientific than a "pinch-test". Answer:	I have no idea. 220V is usualy for major heating appliances like electric stoves and clothes dryers. I don't even know what bivolt is. Must not be something which is common in the USA. I worked for an electrical contractor for over 20 years and never heard bivolt mentioned.

Tips to getting your popcorn just right:

1. Not all microwaves work exactly the same, so play with the timing until you get it just right. Experiment a little- your microwave may cook the popcorn faster or slower than the 2:30-3:00 average! If your precious popcorn is getting burnt when adding butter prior to popping, try adding the butter after all those kernels have transformed into beautiful puffed popcorn.
2. Always use fresh popcorn kernels. Store your popcorn in an airtight container. Refrigeration is not recommended.
3. Stopping and starting your microwave during the cooking cycle is not recommended. Once you stop the microwave, the steam buildup in the center of the kernel, which causes the popcorn to pop, will cool off and never reach the desired temperature to re-pop. If you restart the microwave you also risk burning the already popped popcorn. Using the sound test is the best way to determine if your popcorn is done. If there are more than two full seconds between pops, it’s time to stop.
