Connect the power cord plug to a suitable power outlet. Open the lid and attach the whisk onto the rotating shaft.

Answer:	It's not waterproof as I discovered when I accidentally dropped my first one in the washing up bowl! However, it's very easy to keep clean. You can wash the metal element but just not submerge the black base.

Answer:	Mine has also stopped. It now makes a terrible sound when I turn it on, so clearly there is power, but it does not grind. This one lasted right at 2 years, my previous one (same model) only a few months. Time for me to find a new brand.

Answer:	On the lid is a diagram showing general conversions for seconds & cups depending on what grind you want. We grind with the setting just right of the middle and for one 20 second grind and one 5 second grind for 12 cups. Note, empty it after the first 20 second grind or the grind cup may overflow. You'll need to experiment with amount of coffee ground and grind setting for your taste.
Question:	If I break the glass receiver can I replace it
Answer:	The replacement part from Bodum is https://www.bodum.com/us/en/01-10903-01-32-component but it has been out of stock for 3 months. I emailed Bodum to complain because NOTHING takes three months to manufacturer. They said it will be in stock in June. To reply to another poster there IS NO LIST you can get on. Bodums solution? Check their web site daily and hope that "out of stock" changes to "in stock" and the hundreds of other people doing the same don't turn "in stock" back to "out of stock" before you know it. What a CRAPPY company to do business with.

Answer:	When I was buying my Bistro I found useful the review from coffeegearathome.com. They leaned for the Bodum bistro because:"It has a larger bean catcher capacity (11 oz vs only 4 oz for the Capresso).The Borosilicate glass is more helpful than you might think. It leads to less clean-up after grinding, that's always a plus!The silicone lid on the coffee ground container is a great addition to save the coffee for a longer time."The only advantage they found for the Capresso was that it has more grinding settings (16 compared wirh the 14 of the Bodum). All the time I have been using the Bodum, I can not imagine how 2 settings more would make it better or even be needed. The Bistro is an excellent choice.

Answer:	Yes! This Bodum Java Coffee maker is 100% BPA Free
Question:	Is the glass secure in the decorative metal or does it fall out easily
Answer:	Not that I know of, but most plastic when exposed to cold temps can get brittle. Have you been using it for cold brew in the fridge? Other than that, perhaps just a flaw in this particular one, sometimes that does happen.

Answer:	The one you’re looking at is just a press. The mugs can be purchased from Bodum; which is probably why there is an image of it. Also, I would not buy the plastic bodum carafe holder - go with the metal. The plastic breaks easily.

The French press coffee maker is the simplest of all brewing systems, where coarsely ground beans meet hot water right off the boil. The right temperature (92–96 °C, 195–205 °F) brings the optimal extraction power for the essential oils in the beans to develop their full flavor profile in just four minutes. An easy press on the plunger locks the grinds at the bottom of the glass carafe and stops the brewing process.

Step 1

For each 4-ounce cup, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.

Step 2

Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon.

Step 3

Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.

Step 4

After 4 minutes press down the plunger and enjoy.

Glass beaker

Question:	Is there a way to replace its blades, if they get broken
Answer:	The box is that size, so it will be a wee bit smaller. But yes, pretty tall.
Question:	Is the cord retractable
Answer:	It should be pretty coarse. You want your coffee grounds to be roughly 1 to 1.5 mm in size. Remember to use 2 tbsp of coffee for every cup of water and brew for 4 minutes. If you want your coffee stronger or weaker use more or less coffee. If you're still unsure how much to grind your coffee go to Starbucks and ask them to grind your coffee for a French press.
Question:	Size?? is it really 4.5 x 4.5 x 8.5" as the specs state? The Bodum I'm replacing is plenty big at 2.5 x 2.5 x

Bistro Blade Grinder

The Bistro Blade Grinder is equipped with a powerful 150W motor allowing the stainless steel blade to cut the coffee beans quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Pour

Pour your fresh whole beans of your choice into the grinder. For Maximum consistency, do not fill beans to the top.

Step 2: Grind

Secure the lid and tap the red button for Pulse or hold for Continuous Grind mode.

We recommend 8-10 seconds for a Coarse grind (French Press) 15-20 Seconds for Coarse-Fine grind (Pour over) and 30 seconds for a Fine grind (Espresso).

Do not run the grinder for more than 60 seconds at a time.

Step 3: Clean
