Answer:	They are not transparent. If you hold them up to light, you can see light coming through. When you wear them, they are 100% opaque. I have been wearing them on rides and I have zero concern about that issue. As other posts have noted, they are exceptionally comfortable with thick padding that doesn't travel up the front, which is something I hate.

Answer:	I agree that SMALL would be too short. Another person recommended not buying this cause theirs tore. I have these and have worn countless times and hand washed and even machine washed without any issue. For me, I highly recommend. Answer:	Mark, I cannot compare the shorts and padding separation. But the shorts w/padding combined are great. After done riding I turn then inside out for quick drying. Then place in the basket 🧺 for wash. I have not seen the padding detach or move around when ridding. (FYI)
