Answer:	Sous-vide works best with items that are vacuum sealed; therefore, it you use this product for sealing bags, I would suggest that you try to remove as much air as possible before sealing your bag.

Answer:	One side is the cutter / the other side is the sealer. Make sure you have a good set of batteries in. Mine didn't work at first because the batteries I put in were no good. I grabbed another 2 AA's and bam it works like a charm. Remember that thicker plastics or bags you have to go slower as to let the heat bond them. The thinner the faster.

Answer:	1. The delux has over 400 holes in the soleplate, the standard has over 300. The more holes you have the more steam you will get. 2. The delux has a retractable cord the standard does no. The retractable cord allows for neater appearance and quicker storage. With my experience, the cord on the standard will eventually developen a short. 3. The delux has an illuminated electronic control while the standard has an indicator dial. There are a couple of other minor features but personally, I felt that if the difference was just the extra holes I would still select the delux.

Answer:	There is no dripping. I do a lot of ironing so I always get the top of the line iron. I have 3 of rowenta's best irons that leaks and one where the stainless steel plate gets gummed up with the slightest use of starch. The quality of the rowenta has gone way down. I decided to buy the CHI aftER reading up on the iron. So far I'm very pleased and I don't have to clean the plate after every use. One more thing, I bought the deluxe model and paid 141.00 and later on found that everyone else sells the iron for 99.00. Did not think that amazon would allow vendors to hose their customers this way. I guess from now on I'll check other sites before making my decision where I'll spend my money.

Answer:	Add me to the group! I purchased this iron a year ago. A year and TEN days ago. I know this because this morning when water started pouring out of my iron, I had to look up the date of purchase, so I could use my spiffy one year warranty. So much for that!! One year, and this pretty expensive iron is broken, ten days after the warranty expires. I am beyond frustrated, reading that this has happened to others who purchased one of these irons. My last iron was $12 at Walmart and lasted 15 years, four moves, 2 children, and a serviceman who wore BDU's, which needed to be ironed, five days a week. Get the warranty!!

Answer:	Yes they are. That's part of what you're paying the high price for. I had another Rowenta iron similar to this and it had over 100 temperature settings. This is important if you iron a variety of delicate synthetic fabrics, because the cheap irons just don't "cut" it.

Answer:	Mine says Made in Germany on the iron. But don't do like I did and think it's an excellent product because it's not made in China. Wait till it starts leaking water out of the bottom. I can only use mine as a dry iron anymore. Read all the online reviews for this model. Leaking seems to be a common problem with these Rowenta's.
Question:	why should I not use distilled water in my rowenta iron
Answer:	I think the cleaning tap water after each use demand is reflective of the answer whether to utilize distilled H2O. I drink only distilled water for the past 30 years as it removes all impurities including radioactive isotopes ending up at 6.9 ph. Tap water is targeted at 7.2 ph, human blood 7.4 ph. Removal of the intended steam water after each use solves the standing water colloidalization of metal; then distilled no cleaning demand. For me, I will use this method with DISTILLED WATER and see my last iron last over 30 years until it breaks from age old wear. New iron, why should I change a sure thing of past experience; nope!

Answer:	I was shocked to see on my Rowenta iron that it was made in China, not in Germany like all the advertisements said. I’m pretty disgusted. My first Rowenta iron was made in Germany. When did they change?

Answer:	I looked up maytag on wikipedia and google, they have plants in the US and in Mexico but also own and are connected to many other brands which are made outside the US and Americas. Supposedly the laundry related supplies are made in the US and Mexico. Well, tracking down this exact product seems elusive but do believe that most of the irons that come up on an Amazon search for USA ARE NOT MADE HERE AT ALL-THEY NEED TO FIX THAT ITS FRUEDULENT

Answer:	Hi Erin,So sorry for the delayed response. No where in the instruction manual does it mention that the Maytag iron beeps or makes any sounds. When it goes into auto shut-off mode a small red indicator light flashes until iron is either turned off or put in use again. I hope this answers your question! -Kay

Answer:	WARNING this iron is not usable. It literally shuts off while we iron the clothes and there is not setting to turn off the auto shut off. Very Dissapointed!

Answer:	Not like the new ones. YOu can have the burst of steam. The self cleaning on my expensive iron wasn't worth much. So I don't miss anything.

Question:	how heavy is it
Answer:	The amazon page on this product lists the shipping weight at 3.6 pounds, which seems about right to me. The iron is solid, but not uncomfortably heavy. It works much better than other irons I've owned.
