However, it makes no sense to waste your money and buy this iron because over time it is going to start leaking water from the bottom. All this does is to wet up your clothes, iron board and constantly having you do a re-fill. Makes no sense to get this as a steam iron. It doesn't serves the purpose for long.
Question:	does this iron have auto shut off
Answer:	If you leave the iron on:. horizontally without moving it, it will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. The power indicator will blink to indicate the iron has stopped heating.. on its heel rest without moving it, the iron will automatically turn off after several minutes. Power indicator will blink.The power indicator will continue to blink until the iron is unplugged or reset. These are the instructions which come with the iron and I have found them to be accurate.

Answer:	Beware of using tap water. I love this iron and am replacing it with the exact same brand and model. That said, I plan to use only distilled water in my new one. After using this iron with tap water for 3 or 4, I started getting rust marks on fabric when ironing and tiny black specks of something that didn't penitrate the fabric. After going on line and reading about rust in irons, it is most likely caused by a buildup of minerals inside the steam vents from using tap water. I tried cleaning with vinegar and water but stuff is still coming out of it so am replacing it.

Answer:	If you want a good, reasonably-priced floor steamer, I would recommend a Shark. I've had one for a couple of years now, and I love it! I paid well less than $100 for it; though I don't remember exactly what I paid, I believe it was even less than $50 on sale at a local big box.

Answer:	I needed to crease napkins so i just laid them on the ironing board and “ironed” therm with the steamer. It worked perfectly. I imagine you would be able to do the same with your pants.

Answer:	Yes, I use a plastic hanger bc the wood can stain your clothing. There is a spot to hang next to where you hook the hose at the top. Love this steamer. Word of warning, do not leave water in it when not in use. After each use, I take the water bucket out and allow it to continue steaming until the water in the machine is gone. This prevents spores from growing and prolongs usage of steamer I believe.

Answer:	As previously mentioned, the metal head acts heats up and can be used as a traditional iron, but for steaming it's bulky (large diameter) and too heavy to hold for any length of time. I exchanged the metal head for the plastic head

Bam! No more clog. I thought my son was crazy when he told me this tip. I said Nah, that won't work. But it works. Every single time. Like a champ. I still run my pour over coffee maker in the top rack of the dishwasher once or twice a week to get it squeaky clean, but use the sprayer method and you'll never have a clog again. Answer:	I returned this iron because of the terrible steam problems I had. Though I did admit that it could have been defective. I am a Quilter and Fiber Artist and needed to replace my older and much abused Rowenta! I sent this model back and just recieved the Rowenta W9280 Steam Force Steam Iron, 1800-watt and it is wonderful! It was $4 more but vastly more efficient in steam! I ironed 75 freshly washed Fat Quarters in no time flat! Slightly damp painters canvas ironed out in one pass! Ironing silk and rayon flew by in a flash! I'm in love! Oh, I hate the blue color, but I don't buy irons for color! Hope this helps!

Answer:	The automatic steam level can be regulated with a dial. You can also do a burst of steam with the button. So, yes, the steam can be regulated pretty easily.

Answer:	The bottom line is , you can't. Even when it shuts off automatically, the light will continue to flicker to let you know it is plugged in. You should always unplug irons after you're done using them for safety. High cost irons like this one all shut off automatically. But if they are accidentally moved or shifted they will turn on, hence their flickering light design. They want people to unplug the irons when they are done using them
Question:	Trying to decide which is the best value/performance/reliability between the 5080, 6080, 8080, and 9280...any experience comparing any of these
Answer:	I dont know about the other irons, I have had another Rowenta and I like the DW6080 the best., uses tap water and does not spit or drip drag water on what I am ironing. This is the best iron I have had and used. It is my favorite, very smooth and small tip goes under buttons easily. Really like this iron and for me it got hot enough, most of our ironing is 100% cotton and it does a beautiful job. Hope this helps you....

Also, this iron has an auto-on, auto-off setting and I have found that if it is not in use and motion, it kicks off, causing issues with leaking. not the best design. can be frustrating. Proctor-Silex could improve on this by remove auto on/off.

Distilled vs. Tap; which is best for my iron?

At Hamilton Beach, we do not recommend the exclusive use of distilled water in any of our irons. While distilled water does not damage irons, tap water has some properties that are actually preferable and it saves you money. Tap water contains minerals that act like 'wetting agents' to help the water vaporize upon contact with the soleplate. If you live in a hard water area, we recommend that you alternate between tap and distilled water.

Answer:	Dont know. Since I work in developing nations, sometimes it shuts off and I am not sure if its because of the iron or the current.
