Answer:	The base is heavy, yes. I don't know about the hose but I believe you don't need to remove it. I would recommend getting the smaller jiffy steamer with the plastic water container instead of this. This one is not much more powerful and very cumbersome.

Answer:	I turned mine own to see. It heated up, and the light turned green. Mine works fine with steam coming out after I press the steam button. Maybe you could try holding down the steam button for a few seconds. Assuming you have enough water in the water well, the steam should be coming out. It might be defective. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Answer:	Yes, people are still getting paid $10 credit for a positive review. This is pretty shady practice for amazon review system. My steamer didn't take any wrinkles out and I returned it. The frequency of these 5 star reviews is in 100s every month. Not sure. Certainly gaming Amazon review system. It makes the very core of amazon experience unreliable and I as a prominent amazon prime customer is skeptical on my future purchases.

Answer:	If you want a good, reasonably-priced floor steamer, I would recommend a Shark. I've had one for a couple of years now, and I love it! I paid well less than $100 for it; though I don't remember exactly what I paid, I believe it was even less than $50 on sale at a local big box.

Answer:	I needed to crease napkins so i just laid them on the ironing board and “ironed” therm with the steamer. It worked perfectly. I imagine you would be able to do the same with your pants.

Answer:	Yes, I use a plastic hanger bc the wood can stain your clothing. There is a spot to hang next to where you hook the hose at the top. Love this steamer. Word of warning, do not leave water in it when not in use. After each use, I take the water bucket out and allow it to continue steaming until the water in the machine is gone. This prevents spores from growing and prolongs usage of steamer I believe.

Answer:	As previously mentioned, the metal head acts heats up and can be used as a traditional iron, but for steaming it's bulky (large diameter) and too heavy to hold for any length of time. I exchanged the metal head for the plastic head

Answer:	It’s a 5lb or 2.27kg bag of activated charcoal. Literally a large bag in a box you can scoop out to do whatever your activated charcoal desires may be. The granules are small.

Answer:	I have no idea about scuba air filters. I have used this material to create home made air filters that I’ve 3D printed for face masks. They work well for that. Cant get up to the performance of the manufactured 3M cartridges. But I’m getting close. If the high pressure cartridge you’re using just requires unscrewing the capsule and pouring out the old material to pack in some more; then possibly. Im less likely to use a DYI solution when it comes to air flow and a submerged environment for my filtration.

Answer:	The J-1 Jiffy hat steamer I received has only the brass nozzle, no hose. I believe you may have been looking at the various functions of both steamers. I believe the J-2 has the attachments for clothing, curtains, upholstery etc. My main purpose was to steam and shape western hats and it does the job I expected. Recheck the add, I think you are looking for the J-2. Hope this helps.
Question:	How long is the power cord. Does it need to be plugged-in directly to a wall outlet or can it be used with an extension cord
Answer:	The cord is about 7 feet long. I've never used an extension cord with it, but it is a heat-producing machine so I would use a three-wire appliance cord if anything.

Answer:	This is not a complete steaming kit, it does not come with a hose, a clothes steaming head, or a hanging stand. All of those parts can be bought from Jiffy as extras, but if you want the whole kit it might be better to buy a J-2 steamer and then buy the hat steaming attachment as an extra.

Answer:	I use distilled water we live in Utah and the water is hard. I wouldn’t use tap water in any steamer just to preserve the life of the machine. It works amazing!

Answer:	t is used to steam out crush marks and pile reversal on carpet. a garment steamer would have a different nozzle.

Answer:	The only difference between this and the other versions is the head/hose. Drapes you might find the hose too short. Clothes you might find the head to wide. If you can live with lifting the steamer 2 feet for drapes and having 8 inches of spillage of steam on a shirt sleeve it'll work fine. If that bothers you they make universal hose for heads. You could get the longer hose but you have to deal with more water buildup in the hose.

Answer:	That is exactly what I purchased this for. At the time, I bought the unit that has the 12" carpet steamer head because of the price. I also ordered the garment head "metal" from another supplier here on Amazon. This saved me quite a bit of money. They did not arrive at the same time so I used the 12" on one of my windows draperies and it performed beautifully. I did not even have to take down the drapes. When the garment steamer head arrived I changed it and steamed the other draperies in the house. I really like this unit. I purchased a returned unit and saved big $$. It only had a very minor cosmetic paint chip. The only thing that is cumbersome is the size of the 12" head for drapes and the standard hose length. If you are going to press the drapes on the rod you will need to place the unit on some sort of elevating platform. I used a 2' high step stool. If you want to spend the extra money I would suggest purchasing the 7'+ hose.

Answer:	I need more information... what is in the grout... what type of residue/soil/grease/etc/etc. I use it for automotive detailing (cleaning of various materials), to remove decals, wraps, etc. It works very well for me, however it is just one of many methods/tools/machines that I use. I am going to purchase another wand/straight head that you are in reference to and modify it to do some things/improve it's performance, as well as using the one that it came with. I am very happy with my Jiffy Steamer!

Answer:	No heads are included; it is simply a fabric covered board with a metal hanger. If you are asking about the steamer instead, mine came with one head (metal). Other units vary.

Answer:	The board is covered with a close nap carpet. Very tight and low. Highly recommend the product, I've had mine for a couple of years and have had no issues. MC

Answer:	Not that heavy. I am a 63 year old woman who weighs 130 lbs. and I was able to handle it and hang it no problem.
