Answer:	For maximum safety, my recommendation is to store propane containers in a weather protected location, such as garage or shed with some natural ventilation. Propane is a highly flammable liquified petroleum gas that vaporizes and expands many-fold very quickly if released to atmospheric pressure, and will form a highly explosive mixture if released in a confined space without outside ventilation. If then ignited by a small spark such as a light switch, the resulting explosion may be catastrophic. There are on-line photos of boats that have exploded from propane leaks in the confined space of a boat cabin with catastrophic results including death of occupants. The cabin top and sides have literally been blown to pieces in such cases. New, sealed bottles of 1 lb size are reasonably safe, but once opened or partly used it is best to store away from occupied spaces. Although the probability is low, the consequences of failure are unacceptable. 20 lb propane containers should never be stored indoors. Question:	can i hook a large propane tank to his
Answer:	Yes, any size propane tank can be a source for it when plumbed correctly. The simplest way to go is using the F273704 hose directly off most tanks. That hose needs nothing else and goes direct from the tank to the heater. This model heater only accepts high pressure gas thru the "disposable tank" connection, so other hoses with that connection can be used as well as the "filter" F273699. The "filter" is to take out oils coming from most rubbers in hoses where the high pressure "squeezes" the oil out, but the 704 hose is made "oil-free" to avoid that issue. FYI I tried running this off a regulated low pressure source, but with it on "high" the glow was like "low" setting normally (showing a lack of gas coming thru). So if you have a low pressure source, the "Big Buddy" models have a connection point for such thru a quick disconnect using hoses like F271802 or F271803, but not this model (this one needs high pressure gas to get enough thru it's disposable tank port).
Question:	How long with the heater run on low with a propane small cannister
Answer:	Best guess is 4-5 hours on low. I sat in a hunting blind for 2.5 hours and the 1lb propane canister was about half empty.

Answer:	As soon as the weather gets cold, I put my Big Buddy Heater on a stand & use a Mr. Heater 12' hose with regulator running to a 20lb. tank in living room. I use the hose with the low pressure regulator on it & hook it up to the quick connect fitting. I have 2 20lb tanks in mint condition, and rotate them as needed. This will be my 7th winter using it. Old windows & doors let air in and I have a carbon monoxide alarm near by. Also use a leak detector to check all connections after hooking up a full tank. If it's really cold, I'll start it on high for a short time, then run it on medium & it keeps living & dining room warm. Cuts my oil bill down greatly.

Answer:	This unit has a push button ignition. Clicks and lights. Globaltowne is an Authorized Mr. Heater distributor.
Question:	When using this heater with a 20 lb tank, do i need a regulator on that tank and hose
Answer:	No, using a hose like the F273704 will go to the "disposable tank" port and that expects high pressure gas (just as from the small tanks). The "Big Buddy" models have a Quick Disconnect port that takes in low pressure gas (and needs a regulator like the F281703 hose assembly), but not this or the Buddy MH9B models. I even tried running regulated gas into the Buddy heater, but it would stay like on "low" even though I put it on "high" showing not enough gas flow. So anything with a "disposable tank" connection expects high pressure gas (no regulators).
Question:	When I put the heater setting on low, it sputters and makes a lot of noise, is this normal, but works fine on high. Thanks
Answer:	Mine does the same. However, I found if I just adjust the temp selector just a little above low, slightly increasing the flow of gas but nothing like the high setting, the noise goes away. I literally shot a 6 point buck at 30 yards with the heater running like that this year.
Question:	which hoses can you use to connect 20 lb. tank
Answer:	The F273704 can be used alone. Many other hoses from mr heater (like F273701, F273702, F273703) and others can work that go to the "disposable tank" connection, but you'll need to add the "filter" with those others (item F273699). The reason for the filter is to catch oils that get "squeezed" out of most rubbers in hoses where the oils mess up the heater, but the 704 hose is made "oil-free" to not need it. Those are the choices for this model.

Answer:	Not sure if you have your problem fixed yet. But I had the same problem awhile back. I pushed the sensor probe closer to the heat element. I was too far away to stay heated and keep the unit on.

If you want a hose and tank setup see the following: Buddy Hose Options Thank you for the inquiry, you have a few options on hoses. F273701 is a 5' hose that requires the use of filter F273699. F273702 is a 12' hose that also requires the filter. F273704 is a 10' hose that doesn't require a filter. F271803 is a 12' hose for the big buddy heater with a quick connect fitting that attaches to the heater, and this one also doesn’t need a filter. Answer:	This unit did not include LP tanks. It accepts up to two 1 lb LP camp stove cannisters. You can also get a 6 ft hose to connect it to an LP tank, which is how I use mine. I don't know if it operates at that altitude. I use mine in Michigan, about 830 feet above sea level. You'll need to contact the manufacturer or refer to whatever manufacturer-produced documentation is available.

Answer:	The manufacture does not rate these unit by CFM. They rate them by Square Feet and BTUs. I use mine for preheating my shop which is 25 x 40Ft. I it first thing in the morning and take away the Chill of the metal building. Then I fire up a Wood Burning Stove and heat the rest of the period with that. I do not want to breathe propane in a closed building. It also is great if your day in the shop is going to be short and you just need a blast of heat to stay comfortable. These units move a lot of air. It runs like a jet engine so to speak.They are very well designed and safe to operate. The fumes is the only draw back in a closed shop. Also it is an open flame system and you cannot have anything leaking gas around them as in a lawnmower and etc. Other than the fume issue, I highly recommend this unit if you need a quick blast of heat. Be Safe and Ventilated!

Answer:	My garage has soffit vents and is not insulated. I run this with the doors all closed up. I use a CO alarm with a meter to keep it safe. The highest level is around 30 PPM which I actually think was from starting up the car with the door open and some wind blowing back. The big advantage is you don't need to heat the space - if you are working in one area, just position it to keep you warm. You can also hold your hand next to it to 'thaw' them out periodically.

Answer:	Water resistant is my best guess. I have not had it in any rainy weather yet. I imagine it would be fine in a light rain for a short period of time. You might want to spray it with a tent water proof spray to better protect it.

Question:	I know it says it has a fan but Mr. Heater removed fans from some models. Is this one of those models
Answer:	The low voltage fan and switch IS NOT on this unit. There is a kit that can be ordered from another party that consist of the entire rear panel. It has the wiring an hardware attached to it with the switch, battery case and external low voltage plug for a transformer power supply. It is as simple as 4 screws to install. Mine was under $40. I could not find this larger heater WITH the fan anywhere. Many say it has the fan in the remarks but is not included. I hope this helped. Jack, Dayton OH.
Question:	Is this safe to use indoors? Like gas wise
Answer:	Many fear that anything burning gas will be like running a generator indoors that will kill you in 10 minutes. I understand such a concern, but this is much more like someone running a gas stove burner used in half the houses, that doesn't kill anyone in 10 minutes while warming water for coffee or such (does it?) It burns clean enough that there isn't the carbon-monoxide like from a generator. I ran the smaller version (Buddy) for 24 hours to do a "power outage drill" with freezing temps out to see what it's like with a CO detector set up, the CO unit never went off. I did go outside a few times like to get the mail and when coming back inside I could smell a bit of the "Burned gas", but it wasn't so bad to need to run back out. So you do want to consider such, but it's not a panic item. The manual does suggest cracking a window for some ventilation, but others say "That's letting your heat out in freezing conditions and stupid!" So it's up to you to perhaps do some experiments and come to your own conclusions. There's always the thoughts on possible gas leaks to check for before any use, so don't be afraid to do that. If using a hose and refillable tank, here's a simple leak check I do. With everything connected and heater off, open the tank valve watching how the hose "jumps" when getting pressurized, then close the tank valve, wait 1-2 minutes, then open it again watching for another "Jump" in the hose. If it does jump again, that means gas leaked out over the 2 minutes, otherwise no jump means it held pressure. It is against fire codes to have a refillable tank inside (anything except 1 pound tanks), so I think that can give you another purpose in having a window cracked, yet I've seen a video on another heater that uses those big tanks with it shown used in a garage (despite the "Outdoor use only" label showing somewhat contradictory info). So lots to consider in using these including the surface it sits on (they warn "May cause floor fading or vinyl damage").
Question:	What size propane can does the heater use
Answer:	It has places for 2 of the small 1 pound tanks like you find in the camping section of stores like Walmart, Target, etc. You can also get a hose like the F273704 by Mr Heater and go to any bigger tank you want (like the 20 pound BBQ ones, or bigger or smaller). On high this will burn the 2 pounds from small tanks in 3 hours, so running it 12 hours in a good shop will burn near half a 20 pound tank in a day. Many like the bigger tanks for both length it runs and propane can go for $3 a gallon in bigger tanks vs $3 a quart in those disposable tanks.
Question:	Can this heater be used inside a camper
Answer:	Sure it can. I live full time in a 40 foot RV and use a Mr. Heater Big Buddy that is hooked to a external 30lb tank. Then my other main heater is a Olympian Wave 8 that is plumbed into my RV's propane line. It produces no C02 when its in use but it does consume oxygen so as a result your ceiling vent should be cracked open a inch or two. For every pound of propane used there is X amount of ounces of water that is released in the form of water vapor. Having a window ajar releases this out of the camper. Question:	Can you adjust the heater angle so as to point heater where needed
Answer:	Yes, both heads swivel independently so you can direct heat where you need. You can also light only 1 head if you only need a little bit of heat
Question:	Will it blow out when you are outside
Answer:	Typically no unless a very strong wind comes along. I use mine outside exclusively and only had one side blow out even in a stiff wind.
Question:	How many hours will the propane last for with it on
Answer:	One gallon of propane has about 91,500 BTUs. On high, it burns 30,000 BTUS per hour. On low, it burns 8,000 BTUS per hour. So it will burn one gallon in 3 hours on high and and almost 11.5 hours on low. A standard 20 lb propane cylinder has a capacity of 4.7 gallons. Prefilled tanks from the exchange are less. So expect a maximum of 14 hrs 20 min on high and 53.75 hours on low for 4.7 gallons.
Question:	how long does it last on a small propane tank
Answer:	The 1# tank will ice up and slowly turn off the heater on anything but the lowest setting. That lasts about 2 hours. A little buddy heater with 4K/9K Btu works best with the 1# cylinders. I have the hose hookup for a 20# tank and it's nice to have the option of using either size. You have to light this one with a lighter which is just another thing to forget to pack.
Question:	Just tried to make coffee on it and the grill started to collapse is there a sturdier grill for it
Answer:	As far as I know... No. A simular thing happened to me. I reattached the grill using good old fashioned wire hanger twisted. This was only a temporary fix.
Question:	Did anyone get the "foot" for the 1 lb. bottles and is it a worthwhile add-on
Answer:	Not sure what you're referring to. The one lb. bottle hangs suspended when connected. I wouldn't recommend getting this model. Get the model MH12C if you can. The regulator broke after a couple months and I couldn't return it. Instead I bought the regulator that was for the MH12C and adapted it to fit the MH15C. Since then it's been working great for a year. I also recommend purchasing the hose adapter so you can run off a 20 lb. bottle. It'll last a lot longer
Question:	how long does a 1lb bottle last compared to a 20lb bottle
Answer:	A one pound bottle on medium setting will last about 1-1/2 hour so figure at least 25 hrs for a 20 pounder.
Question:	Where can the refill tanks be purchased
Answer:	These run on the little tanks that run a camp stove sold at Walmart, Costco or any sporting goods store. I don’t believe you can refill these.
Question:	Can this heater be used at 4000 meters over sea level, given that this unit shuts off automatically when low oxygen levels are detected

Answer:	I am not aware of any adapter. It seems to only fit the small tanks.
Question:	Is it OK to set the heater directly on the carpet
Answer:	I'm on my second heater and I've had literally hundreds of hours on my plush living room carpet without a hitch on the same spot on the carpet. I've checked it while running on high for many hours and my carpet just barely stays warm. All heat from the heater goes up. I've even checked with the fan off and on high with the same result. I bought the hose and drilled a hole through the back of my brick home and hooked up to a 20 pound propane bottle that I keep in a two door 3 foot high plastic cabinet. I absolutely love this thing.
Question:	How many hours will the batteries last at maximum
Answer:	The fan motor pulls 0.5A at 6V (I just ran it myself with a Fluke meter showing amps). Online sources say a D battery is ~12 amp-hour, so 24 hours run time seems max run time from full batteries.
Question:	Will mr heater 12' hose/regulator part # f273072 fit? that is the hose the salesman told me to get
Answer:	That hose will work, but you should add to that the filter F273699. Otherwise the F273704 hose is about the same but doesn't need the filter. The reason for the filter is most rubbers in hoses have oils that get "squeezed" out under high pressure and mess up the heater (but that 704 hose is made "oil-free"). On Big Buddy heaters you can also get the F271803 hose/regulator assembly. That connects to a low pressure "Quick Disconnect" port on the heater. It costs a bit more, but is easier for frequent connecting versus threading the others. FYI when connecting POL fittings to tanks (like the F273702 uses) many reviews say "I don't get gas thru the hose, but small tanks work" hinting the hoses fail. I've had no issues with the hoses and think many may not be getting the fitting tight enough. The tanks have a "childproof safety valve" that won't let gas out if a fitting isn't tight enough even with the tank top valve open, so you need to get it "finger tight" and then go about 1 more full turn with a wrench if needed. So beware that issue and the easy fix (to avoid returns etc.)
