Answer:	i open the door on the side, raise the screen and then stick the grill lighter in touching the wick to light the heater. Do it every night

Answer:	Through the little hinged door there a heavy like coil spring that's attached to screan, if you don't see the spring rotate the screan until it's close to the hinge of the little door. Lift the coil upward and with a long nose bbq lighter light the wick, it is easier then I can explain it.
Question:	How large of a space have you guys heated this with? Do you think it can cover 1000 sq/ft
Answer:	I have been using this product in my living room/dining room area which is roughly 600 to 700 square ft. After about an hour we are sweating! We have discussed moving this into a different part of the house bc of the tremendous heat it puts off. We have been able to turn off all other heat sources so far. Gentle radiating heat. I really don't think it will have a problem heating 1000 feet of space probably more! Great product! Great quality!
Question:	How big is the fuel tank
Answer:	1.9 gallons. I don't recommend this heater the flame adjustment sucks. I'm buying a dyna glo better flame control and you can get 12hrs from same size tank barely 7 with this one and it cost more.

Answer:	You don't need to use a match if you install batteries at the back of the heater to power igniter. Press the lever at the front to match the Ignition mark, to ignite the wick. Answer:	First, all the kerosene heaters marked "110" or "HMN 110" are basically the same, just sold by different companies; so, they take the same wick. There is a web site that is devoted to all sorts of kerosene devices, heaters, stoves, lamps, etc. The guy who runs it is extremely knowledgable and can answer questions. There is a difference in the quality of wicks. You should get a CUI wick made in England by Hattersley, as they are the best quality. They cost around $11. The wick you want is listed as "1X". Question:	Does this kerosine give off carbon monocide
Answer:	ALL propane or kerosene heaters give off a small amount of C.O.2, BUT indoor rated heaters would not be LEGAL or popular if there were dangerous levels !!! AND after heating my home for the past 15 years using kerosene heaters I found NO problems, even my four cats lived 'til 18 and 19 years old !!! BUT,,,be sure to use ONLY K2 kerosene NOT "Coleman Camp Fuel" as it is white gas NOT kerosene and may cause an explosion. Kerosene is ALWAYS marked clearly as kerosene, and the K2 designate is assumed and seldom needed to be on the label except in industrial situations. ALSO, kerosene heaters are VERY widely used in asian countries because the are reliable. I hope this relieves any fears you may have !!
Question:	How many hours will it run if kept on low? High
Answer:	i do not run my heater on low or high. the objective is to set the wick for the most efficient burn, a blue flame extending just above burner. Most of the radiant heaters claim they will operate for 12 to 15 hours on one filling of the fuel tank (approximately 1.2 gallon). i have been able to average 20 hrs.

Question:	How much square footage does it cover
Answer:	You have to calculate how cold it is outside and how well the space is insulated. 23,000 BTU is a tremendous amount of heat that is suited for heating a large uninsulated garage or workshop in very cold weather. Heating a house even a large one is better controlled by using two smaller10,000 BTU heaters in different rooms.
Question:	What is the difference between this unit and the HMN
Answer:	I wondered that too. On the HMN-110 page, Amazon refers to this one (CTN-110) as a newer model and drops the "Heat Mate" name.
Question:	can it be used with diesel fuel
Answer:	In order to use diesel fuel in any kerosene heater or lamp, a 100% cotton wick is needed. Using a wick with fiberglass stiching at the top will constantly clog up rapidly. Try Miles Stairs wickshop.
Question:	How long will it run on the lowest setting
Answer:	There isn't really a low setting, there is only an optimum position for the wick to be set at. If its adjusted too high it will smoke and have incomplete combustion and too low it will smell and can produce carbon monoxide (i have tested this with a handheld co meter). Anyways if its set to its ideal wick height it should burn for 12 hours or so. Mine seems to burn longer on the expensive home depot K1 which is mostly low odor mineral spirits. And just for a little piece of mind I take CO measurements frequently while running mine and it never exceeds 1 ppm concentration, even when taking the reading in the hot gases coming out of the top of it. If you decide to burn the gas station K1 its a whole different story. I have had readings as high as 40 ppm with that stuff!! Sorry to be long winded.

Question:	Can I store the smaller, 1lb propane tanks on my terrace porch, possibly in a box, overall? in cold winters and hot summers
Answer:	For maximum safety, my recommendation is to store propane containers in a weather protected location, such as garage or shed with some natural ventilation. Propane is a highly flammable liquified petroleum gas that vaporizes and expands many-fold very quickly if released to atmospheric pressure, and will form a highly explosive mixture if released in a confined space without outside ventilation. If then ignited by a small spark such as a light switch, the resulting explosion may be catastrophic. There are on-line photos of boats that have exploded from propane leaks in the confined space of a boat cabin with catastrophic results including death of occupants. The cabin top and sides have literally been blown to pieces in such cases. New, sealed bottles of 1 lb size are reasonably safe, but once opened or partly used it is best to store away from occupied spaces. Although the probability is low, the consequences of failure are unacceptable. 20 lb propane containers should never be stored indoors. Question:	can i hook a large propane tank to his
Answer:	Yes, any size propane tank can be a source for it when plumbed correctly. The simplest way to go is using the F273704 hose directly off most tanks. That hose needs nothing else and goes direct from the tank to the heater. This model heater only accepts high pressure gas thru the "disposable tank" connection, so other hoses with that connection can be used as well as the "filter" F273699. The "filter" is to take out oils coming from most rubbers in hoses where the high pressure "squeezes" the oil out, but the 704 hose is made "oil-free" to avoid that issue. FYI I tried running this off a regulated low pressure source, but with it on "high" the glow was like "low" setting normally (showing a lack of gas coming thru). So if you have a low pressure source, the "Big Buddy" models have a connection point for such thru a quick disconnect using hoses like F271802 or F271803, but not this model (this one needs high pressure gas to get enough thru it's disposable tank port).
Question:	How long with the heater run on low with a propane small cannister
Answer:	Best guess is 4-5 hours on low. I sat in a hunting blind for 2.5 hours and the 1lb propane canister was about half empty.
Question:	Does anyone know or understand how is it this type of propane heater can be used indoors without causing carbon dioxide poisoning
Answer:	As soon as the weather gets cold, I put my Big Buddy Heater on a stand & use a Mr. Heater 12' hose with regulator running to a 20lb. tank in living room. I use the hose with the low pressure regulator on it & hook it up to the quick connect fitting. I have 2 20lb tanks in mint condition, and rotate them as needed. This will be my 7th winter using it. Old windows & doors let air in and I have a carbon monoxide alarm near by. Also use a leak detector to check all connections after hooking up a full tank. If it's really cold, I'll start it on high for a short time, then run it on medium & it keeps living & dining room warm. Cuts my oil bill down greatly.

Answer:	You are able to use diesel #2 with this unit.
Question:	Can this heater be used indoors without venting when using diesel? I have seen mixed reviews on the odor when using diesel but more opinions are nice
Answer:	I use one indoors in a 1900 ft2 shop. Mostly I use diesel fuel but ignition with straight diesel is problematic with this and most multi fuel units. Diesel actually burns hotter and cleaner (less smell) than kerosine. I mix about 3 gallons of diesel with 2 gallons of kerosine. It a hotter cleaner burn that costs a lot less than straight kerosine.
Question:	Does this use a wick like smaller kerosene heaters do
Answer:	No, totally different burner type. It uses a powered pump/burner assembly and blows heat out one end, brings in burner air from the other end. Called a "salamander" heater in the construction trades. Also is MUCH noisier than a wick type heater!

Answer:	About 6 hours. Takes a tank and a third to run a 9 hour day.

Answer:	This heater will get your room warm and comfortable. Keep it on medium heat until you reach desired temperatures and then just turn it off.

Answer:	Good question! This answer is from an insurance company with online info about kerosene heaters - "Kerosene heaters require 1-K grade kerosene. When colored or cloudy kerosene is burned, it will give off an odor, smoke and cause increased indoor pollution levels because the fuel's higher sulphur content sharply boosts sulphur dioxide emissions. And kerosene other than 1-K grade can gum up the wick. Never use a substitute such as gasoline or camp stove fuel. In a kerosene heater, such fuels could start a fire or explode."

Answer:	We keep a pot of water over the cage to give humidity to the room. The heater can be very drying but we don't cook on the unit.
