I took the path of using masking tape to block all the outdoor winter air leaking into my apartment around the sliding doors and windows to reduce/minimize the need to use the heater. [3] Turn it over until the distributor side (blade side) is facing up

[4] Fix the black adjusting ring by hand, and turn the distributor surface (blade side) counterclockwise to the height you need (adjustable height is 0-6mm)

[5] Rotate the two black adjusting rings in the middle clockwise until they cannot be loosened

Answer:	I am not sure that it would not burn a child's hand. That said, I don't think a casual brush against the front would cause a burn. The heater is a radiant heater. It is designed to radiate the heat out and heat objects and the space in front of it without getting extremely hot itself. Caution would always be prudent though.
