Also, there have been times when I've filled the fire pit and for one reason or another had to extinguish it soon after lighting it to attend to things. The fuel evaporates! Answer:	I would look on their website for a manual. I have a different brand, one that uses isopropyl alcohol, regular rubbing alcohol. I bought some other fuel instead, and it burned too hot and broke the glass. But when you have the right fuel, you put in no more than the maximum in the base and light it with a wand lighter. Be careful to use the right fuel.

Answer:	I don’t know. I put it on a solid metal trivet designed to withstand high heat. That said, the fire bowl cracked the first time I used it. It was a hairline crack but I didn’t feel safe using it anymore. It’s gets very hot and I was concerned the fire bowl would break apart only to have the flame fuel spill onto the table! The flame fuel is a gel-like fuel which was (obviously) highly flammable! I will say the fire bowl was absolutely beautiful — I was disappointed I couldn’t use it. Good News: Amazon was very good about refunding my money!

Answer:	The bigger the fire, the more quickly the fuel is consumed. I always have my fire going at about two thirds capacity. At that rate, one quart of fuel lasts about 2 hours. A gallon would last around 7 or 8 hours, depending on how big of a flame you like.

Answer:	I'm not sure but rubbing alcohol burns for 20 to 25 mins. Also it is much cheaper and easy to purchase.

Answer:	Its an empty concrete vessel that you pour fuel in. We couldn't find alcohol so we bought small cans of Sterno canned hear - ethanol gel. Works great but the small cans only burn for 45 min, I think the alcohol would burn about the same time. We only use ours for a short about of time (for s'mores), so this works great for us.
