Answer:	There is no thermostat setting. The snowflake button is actually the humidifier function. Cooling automatically happens based on more humid air.

Question:	Will it work in austin, texas humidity? and how loud is it
Answer:	If it is really humid it may not cool quite as well, but Austin has enough really hot dry days it should do just fine. I am from there and moved to west Texas and bought one. I liked it so well I bought another. May be moving back to the Austin area and these will definitely be coming back with me!
Question:	How long will it run before the water runs out
Answer:	I also get about 3 or 4 hours. I just run it until I can hear the water dripping inside, then add more water.
Question:	how much water does it take?.....Can you add ice?....what happens if you fall asleep and it runs out of water,will the pump be damaged
Answer:	The unit takes about 4 gallons of water. Yes, I have added ice to the water chamber. There is not an automatic shutoff so I am quite sure you would burn up the pump if you let it run dry. Also, you need to run the unit on fan only for at least 1/2 hour after usage to dry the membrane. Others have complained of their water smelling, but I’m sure it was the membrane from not being properly dried after use. I have mine plugged into a timer so that when I’m finished with it and turn it to fan only, it shuts off automatically after 1/2 hour.
Question:	How do you install the casters? Past the tip there’s is a ring that prevents me from inserting them completely. What am I missing
Answer:	Place the wheels with the "brake" in the front of the unit. Tap with cloth-covered hammer or rubber mallet to set them into place. Hope that helps!

Question:	can I use regular tap water for this product? How many hours does it work if I fill up the tank
Answer:	Yes, nobody would be able to buy enough distilled water to run this if that were required. It uses a good bit of water..how much is dictated by how high you run it. I can easily get about 10 or 12 hours out of a full tank if run on low.
Question:	Will this unit work in southwest Florida where the humidity is high
Answer:	No!! These are completely dependent on humidity differentials. I've read tons of reviews and background. They'll work to some degree as long as the relative humidity is less than 100%, but you're probably better off with a non-evaporative cooler in Florida. They work like crazy in desert areas, but even then, they can only do a max of about 20'F difference from outside temp. They might work okay in concert with a traditional central air system, since that actually de-humidifies the inside air. But I don't know.

Question:	Is this a swamp cooler
Answer:	I don't understand the questions. It does cool a small room unless the temp goes over 86 degrees with high humidity. Then you realize it is not always as strong as conventional AC. So it depends on your situation. My son likes it and most of the time it is a relief from heat.
Question:	I drive a school bus and wondered if this would slosh the water out if I mounted it on my dash
Answer:	The water/ice area is open and exposed. I would think that it would slosh around and fall out if mounted. I actually gave this fan a bad review. It does not work well at all (in my opinion). The air feels no cooler than a regular fan. Trust me, it does not feel like a portable air conditioner at all!
Question:	Does this unit have a filter that can be cleaned
Answer:	Yes...the filter can be removed and rinsed...not sure where to order a replacement.
Question:	Can the water tank be removed for cleaning
Answer:	It slides out. I don't recommend this product.

Question:	Is it loud
Answer:	Fans moving air tend to be somewhat loud. The more air moved the more cooling effect you get. I would say many people would think it is loud. I think it is functional. Turn up the radio or TV and the sound from the fan will tend to become less noise and more background.
Question:	How often do I have to refill the unit with water
Answer:	We run the unit for 3-4 hours and have to refil it every other day. We run the air on high and flow of water nearly max. Hope this helps. It's a great unit for the 350 sq foot space we use it in.
Question:	how loud is this air conditioner
Answer:	Moving air is always noisy. The more air you move the louder it gets. The unit itself is actually quiet considering the amount of air it moves. There is minimal motor sound and on low speed it is relatively quiet. We just upgraded to a window mount unit that moves 4500 CFM and it makes the Honeywell seem very quiet. bBasically it is about the same sound level as a fan moving the same amount of air.
Question:	Has anyone used this in Seattle area on hot summer days
Answer:	Yes, we purchased our unit for a small apartment in Seattle. It worked great and didn't have the ugly metal venting out the window.

How do Evaporative Air Coolers Work?
