Answer:	If it is really humid it may not cool quite as well, but Austin has enough really hot dry days it should do just fine. I am from there and moved to west Texas and bought one. I liked it so well I bought another. May be moving back to the Austin area and these will definitely be coming back with me!

Answer:	I also get about 3 or 4 hours. I just run it until I can hear the water dripping inside, then add more water.
Question:	how much water does it take?.....Can you add ice?....what happens if you fall asleep and it runs out of water,will the pump be damaged
Answer:	The unit takes about 4 gallons of water. Yes, I have added ice to the water chamber. There is not an automatic shutoff so I am quite sure you would burn up the pump if you let it run dry. Also, you need to run the unit on fan only for at least 1/2 hour after usage to dry the membrane. Others have complained of their water smelling, but I’m sure it was the membrane from not being properly dried after use. I have mine plugged into a timer so that when I’m finished with it and turn it to fan only, it shuts off automatically after 1/2 hour.
Question:	How do you install the casters? Past the tip there’s is a ring that prevents me from inserting them completely. What am I missing
Answer:	Place the wheels with the "brake" in the front of the unit. Tap with cloth-covered hammer or rubber mallet to set them into place. Hope that helps!

Answer:	the new masterstat is digital instead of analog with a more precise built in thermostat for better temp control. It comes with all new motor/pump controller and control head that requires one less wire than the original. the ground in the wiring diagram is very confusing, it just means that the cooler chassis ground is connected to the electrical ground from the line in power. the neutral connection in the motor/pump controller is the neutral from the pump (white) , green to wire nut in wiring diagram. it may sound like I am giving a lot of worthless info, but when you see the wiring diagram you will see why I detailed it out. The majority of complaints and returns of this unit were because of wiring diagram. P.S. this is a very good unit.
Question:	What are the dimensions of the part that goes through the window
Answer:	It automatically pre-wets the pump when you set it to auto mode and the desired temperature. It will then automatically shut off when the temperature has been reached, just like a standard AC thermostat. What it doesn't have is timing functionality, so you can have the thermostat turn off and on at specific times of the day.

Answer:	I'm in Southern CO & use this in conjunction with a wall A/C. Dry air is a serious problem here & I've found running the A/C alone everyone gets nosebleeds, but running it with the swamp cooler works great. The swamp cooler holds a LOT of water, but we go through one tank a day. When I put ice in it & run the standard A/C the room cools down very quickly & the humidity rises to a comfortable level. I use it in a room that's about 15 X 30'.
