Question:	Why doesn't this come with instructions? Do you install it between antenna and coax? Between antenna coax and receiver box
Answer:	Place it at the end of your antenna cable just before it goes into your receiver box. Hopefully you or I will never have to find out how well it works.
Question:	Will this work between outside roof HDTV antenna & TV? Does it matter which direction the protector goes? On TV for example might be backward
Answer:	Should work just fine; direction doesn't matter. Just make sure you have a good "coax grounding block" (also available on Amazon). I'm using them for my Dish antenna which have the grounding blocks already installed.
Question:	Do you need to have one attached to each device (tv's, computer) or have only one attached to where the cable line comes into the house
Answer:	You only need one of these, attached to the main cable that comes into your house. That will stop any electrical surge that may come through the cable itself.It doesn't function like a "ground" for everything, though... The power cord of each device (TV, computer, etc.) will still need to be plugged into a wall outlet or power strip that's equipped with surge protection in order to stop surges that may come through the regular house wiring.
Question:	How does this work internally? Without a ground path for the surge, how does it supress it, just with coil reactance? How much signal loss
Answer:	Hi Derek. Wow! 4 Years ago. Excellent answer. I know that AT&T used to use carbon protectors in the olden days then started using gas protectors when data signals like T-1s and DSLs, but they still had a 6awg ground wire almost always with a dedicated ground connection, a 5-foot rod in the ground. Sometimes they would cheat and jumped onto the electrical ground. Comcast started grounding their systems with a 16awg ground wire clamped onto the outside of the circuit breaker panel. Getting back to the protectors, the carbon protectors would short the connection to ground while the gas protectors would briefly ground any spike, then allow the connection to continue. Protectors were rated for different max voltges depending on what type of circuit was running through it. I STILL THINK THE PROTECTOR NEEDS TOBBE GROUNDED. I WOULD INSTALL A INLINE CONNECTOR WITH A GROUNDING POINT. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. IEEE HAS A GREAT BOOK JUST ON GROUNDING. I bought it just to learn about ground loops. That’s something to Google. In my event, I would find a way to ground that protector to ensure the installation. Too much said.
