Answer:	I don't know the inches because it was a gift to my grandaughter, who just turned 2yrs old. She is average height, and almost tall enough to sit down on it by herself, so I would not recommend it for a one year old. A one year old child might fall off and get hurt.

Answer:	First, the table is rectangular, so the ends, where the chairs sit, is naturally longer then the sides, by 4 1/2 inches to be exact. The top extends 7 3/4 inches from the table support leg on the end. On the sides, where the bins are, the top extends 3 1/4 from the bin shelves. This unit is made for 2 chairs on the end with access to bins for the kids. You can place the chair on the sides, but the kids have to sit back a bit and lean a little forward if they wish to use the table, that's all. It is a nice set for the money and it looks dumb with chairs on the side.

Question:	I noticed that the pics have two different desktops. One with the side slots, and one without the side slots. Which one will I be ordering
Answer:	Not sure exactly what you are d scribing. If you are talking about the slots that have a knob and then that is what is used to move the desktop up and down. You loosen it and slide the knob towards the chair, and the desktop lays flat. you slide it forward and can raise the desk top up. I am happy with The adjustability of the desk and chair, and my niece loves it. Well worth the price.

Answer:	I purchased this table set for my grandson, who is 2 1/2 years old. The table is just the right size for him, but the chairs are very small and narrow. Hence, in my opinion, I would not recommend this table set for a 7 year old. I think the set (especially the chairs) would be too small.
